1. Brady

2. Montana

3. P. Manning

4. Unitus

5. Brees

I know Brees won't be a super popular pick in the top 5, but I really love watching him. So incredible how many seasons he's thrown over or near 5,000 yards. He seems like a good guy too.

I think Marino is slightly overrated. He was great to be sure, but never won a championship and actually threw quite a few INT's. Great passer of the football, though. I also think Rodgers is a little overrated (just a little bit), but at least he has won a championship.

It’s interesting how closely the QB’s that you have been listing aligns with the top QB’s for 4th quarter comebacks.   These are the QB’s who have made clutch plays to carry their teams into victory.

Rules were not there to protect the qb  Its easier now  Brady doesn't have to worry about Dick Night Train lane trying to cripple him on every down  Also WR get free run of the field  Back then you could shove the wr around all over the field and then Ronnie Lott could come over and decapitate the receiver.  Marino's 48 tds in 84' is ridiculous when you compare the eras

Depends on how you define a "4th Quarter Comeback." If it is: Your team was down a point heading into the fourth quarter, then it is meaningless. If it is: Leading the team to a game-winning score at the end of the game, you are correct.

I'd rate Kelly, Montana and Marino highly for the fact their accomplishments occurred when there were fewer protections of the QB. They were man handled pretty good.

I don’t ever remember seeing Marino get hit hard.  His release was too quick and the Dolphins always did a good job of protecting him.  So did the refs.

There you go!  Fast forward with your flux capacitor 15 years.....  Expand the list and you will find Brady*** at somewhere around 25***

Elway should be on more peoples lists. I forgot about him.  I dreaded facing him far more than facing Marino.

Hard for me to put Elway ahead of Kelly when I watched Kelly outplay him in basically every matchup between the two

I know that's not exactly a fair measuring stick, but it's hard to shake

As much as I love Kelly and the fact that he's the best QB we've ever had. He's not in the top 10 of all time. There's no way

I would have cried if they ever traded Kelly for Elway or Kelly for Marino.  But conventional wisdom typically ranks the Elway and Marino ahead of Kelly.

Is it possible that someone like Jim Kelly just won the games by getting his team ahead earlier?

So just throwing this out there as a Kelly homer—NONE of the other class of ‘83 greats playing in the AFC (Elway, Marino) EVER were able to get past Kelly in the playoffs; Jim won each time head to head (and let’s not forget also took care of Montana in ‘93 AFC title game) while acting as his own OC at the line. That little publicized fact lost in the 4 SB run was one of the reasons Vic Carucci, who I believe made his case to the voters, mentions that Jim went in the HOF on the 1st ballot. Also for what it’s worth, the Bills beat each of their SB rivals the same season or immediately after, each of the SB losses. Unfortunately while I think Brady is probably the GOAT and JK is not in the top 5, I still prefer JK’s tough nosed playing style and attitude as my #1 all time. Talk amongst yourselves...
