Bills injury updates - Training Camp/Preseason

Recommended Posts

Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet)
#Bills punter Cory Carter, who had really impressed in camp, suffered a torn ACL in his plant leg during last night’s game, source said. Brutal.

Tim Graham (@ByTimGraham)
Adding to Ian’s report, I hear encouraging words about Kyle Williams and chances to come back sooner than injury appeared on the field. twitter.com/rapsheet/statu…

I think he’s just copying Clay.

And we are only half way.....

Four games is WAAAAYYYYY too many.  That’s why just scrubs play the last one.

This is actually why I think game four is important-- for the scrubs. I also think this is a good reason to only have one cut-down date from 90 to 53. Other teams are watching game four more than we are. They want to see someone shine in a position of need for them. In that respect, it makes for a pretty fun battle IMO between people trying desperately to keep their NFL dreams alive.

With all due respect, game three could be the new game four.

With all due respect, game 3 is the dress rehearsal.

Preseason 1 & 2 are try outs/auditions.

Maybe we just need to switch to new "Preseason Uniforms"

WhereTH is the Kyle medical update??

Brain surgery takes less time than this!

WHOA! I thought it was his KNEE!

I’d bet they were 95% sure what they were dealing with on the spot. The MRI just confirms their tests. Share some good news already!

The replay is on NFLN now, and it’s glaring how different the offense looks when Allen is not in there. Let’s hope that’s a 15-20 year trend.

To me, the most telling aspect is how quickly Williams’ Defense changed tactics from full out Go to deep safety’s and CB’s. Yes, he was daring the punk whiz kid to launch mortars and see if he was smart enough to take what was left open underneath.

Surprize!!

DC’s across the League landscape haven’t slept yet!

McCarron clavicle hairline fracture.

could go either way for his time down.
But he is unlikely to be the Game One starter. So that narrows the passionate debate to just two guys. And Nate had a good series or so.

seems like someone started a thread about Nate P being the starter come Season Opener.

 He might just be correct.

 I picked AJM.

we called them out !The few that jinxed it all. But did they listen ? No and this is why these bad things happen.

don't mess with curses.

and Bills have a couple doozies.

 One was just proven out.
QBs and health.

I think it, mercifully, ends a silly debate.

The #7 draft pick starts.  That's what they do in this league.

I think the debate will continue.
Allen has shown he very well might be the best QB available over all.

But i have no good reason to close the door for a couple weeks yet.

On the upside ?

Both Peterman and Josh will be getting a third more reps at practice. And i think that is a very good thing !

My assessment based on the info we have is that he will be back but maybe not week 1. Not sure about how severe the sprain is, but most are a 3-4 week injury if no procedure. Wawrow said he was walking through the locker room with just a wrap around his leg and no real limp to speak of today.

Carracci said on SiriusXM NFLN Shady’s groin pull happened yesterday at practice and was seen walking very gingerly afterward.

Different topic but I heard Carucci's spot on Sirius as well; he was uncharacteristically optimistic...almost "giddy" about the prospect of Allen winning the job.

Of course this is until a few games in and he is hurt and cant play and they find the original diagnosis was correct.

I dont know why but this always seems to happen, a player gets a second opinion and it's a better result, but then are hurt or affected after a few games and find it's worse cause the original diagnosis is correct

Bills thing.

Too late.  It was "broken" just long enough....

you may well be correct on this one. I mentioned somewhere that in the short term this is a good thing. More reps for both Nathan Peterman and Josh Allen ( ahem)
this is winding down now. or up depending.

Place yur bets folks. they are at the halfway point on the track and positioning for the break to the finish. AJM is bringing up the rear as an "also ran" at this point.

 I was wrong

According to Mort and Shefter no break for AJ McC, just a bruise.  Sorry, I'm not a twit so you'll have to search it out.

This is like the "bring out your dead" seen in Monty Python's Holy Grail.  As soon as McCarron was hurt, the Bills threw him on the wagon to be carted off, while he kept saying "I'm not dead yet"...

They saw an opening to accelerate the competition and took it.

he did look a bit under the weather during his game reps. perhaps a curse ?
could easily be the Black Plague. Medicine is not what it once was.
a good bloodletting at the Barbers pole might be in order till the season begins, for AJM.

Bad humours show themselves in mysterious ways.

best to keep Josh and Nathan pure and getting more divine reps with the Ones
