My insurance offers one free a year and for some reason, I haven't gotten one. I feel good but that's still not a good reason. I need to plan one soon. Suspended on the field trip because we got a pin from the Civil War museum. I etched my initials in a seat in the bus. I was 12. Detention when I was 15 for being late to class. This is the only time I got in trouble in HS. Underage drinking when I was 18. Arrested, finger printed but not mug shot for some reason. Until a certain age you get one every 5 years, (obviously insurance based) then one a year after that. Southerns have gross teeth because they believe all Dentists are liberals and they ain't gonna let no damn Liberals touch any of their tooths. Yeah I know that I should be better. I'm in great shape (that I know of) and eat very well. My wife is basically a nutritionists and 95% of the time we eat very healthy. She's a marathon runner so she takes very good care of herself. My workouts are also intense. When I got the flu over the Christmas break, my blood pressure was fine. But I still need to go. Heart disease and diabetes runs on both sides of my family. However, of all the ones that had it....they were all overweight and ate terribly. If you haven't seen a doctor in 5 years, you should probably go do it soon. Just for an overall check under the hood and peace of mind. Remember, not every ailment gives you palpable symptoms, and sometimes it's the thing that you don't notice and let go unchecked that kills you. The doctor hasn’t asked to stick a finger up my ass yet. When can I expect that joyous examination to begin? I turn 40 in February. I go to the dentist for 4 cleanings/exams per year, and get 1 X-ray per year. I have one tooth that’s going to need a crown very soon. It’s on it’s last filling....hanging by a thread. After I turned 60 the annual physical turned into a six month physical. Cholesterol and blood pressure aren’t quite where they should be. Good times. Don't forget those colonoscopies every five years starting at age 50! When the pretty nurse comes into the room (and there’s always a pretty nurse), I just lie there and wish they would hurry up and knock me out so I don’t have to think about what’s happening and what she’s looking at. And since I’m nearsighted and wear glasses, I get eye exams every two years. I’ve got good insurance, at least for the routine stuff. I wish I’d stayed away from him, but so far I’ve followed his orders. I do need to start, and the wife is nagging me about getting a long term care policy. Partly it has to do with constantly changing health insurance. I had Kaiser Permanente last year and HATED IT.
