The knock on Wilson was size. If he had been 4 inches taller he would have been universally regarded as a top ten guy. What made him slip to the 3rd isn’t even close to the same issues as to why Allen had the potential to slip.

You clearly mean he hasn’t shown you that he can complete passes at a 60% clip while running for his life with bum WRs. He’s shown that he has a generational arm, great mobility and can move the chains with his legs, the ability to throw on the run and make throws that no other QB can make. If he hasn’t shown you that, then your just hating. He needs work. No doubt about it. Darnold needs work. Mayfield needs work. Rosen needs mobility and an unscrambled brain. now it’s up to our brain trust to develop him. By saying he hasn’t shown you anything is being a Debbie downer. He’s shown a lot. he’s also shown a lot of bad. No question. Problem is, you only focus on the bad. Your choice. Have fun Exactly how I felt. But I didn’t sit there silent. So glad you're delighted with the pick. Many of us are not. Our judgments are as valid as yours. Now let's just hope he works out. That's my hope. Until then, I'm not going to do a 180 and dismiss what I've seen from him in the past. If that's negative to you, so be it. Go bills. 2 hours ago, HappyDays said: You realize this is a knock against you, right? No more than it is for the Bills and 30 other teams that passed on him for almost 3 rounds. For every Wilson there's 10 flops. All I'm saying is when you pick number 7, I'd rather pick a guy who's got a track record that shows he can do it at the next level. We're going to see. Klaista2k
Wow just watched the 2016 game vs Bosie State and Allen played much better. After watching this game I'm more optimistic about the pick. Edited May 6, 2018 by Klaista2k

Gosh you're right, there's no way of ranking any quarterback coming out of college. Nobody like Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck. Throw a dart at the board. All college QBs have flaws. But I'll take a guy who has exceptional completion rate, I demonstrated ability as a pocket passer, reading defenses, and overall success at a major college program. That would be how I would do it, you wouldn't make the judgement differently apparently. That's fine.

You probably can't even get that on Patsfans.com message board for Tom Brady. I wasn't a big fan leading up to the draft or even in the moment of the draft. But glad to see we have pretty much all come around to him and will support him. Of course we support him he's a Bill. It doesn't it mean we still have to like the pick or make believe that are observations pre_draft are not valid, or have confidence it's going to work out. But we support him and hope he's the real deal.

Maybe so, but I got to see what I was looking for to an extent. How people are feeling about him “right now”. The week after the draft it was toxic with hate, crying and whining. The hate, crying and whining were coming for the people that felt exactly how I did after allen was picked. PISSED. Yet I wasn’t crying whining and moaning. I looked into why allen was picked over the guy I had as the #1 QB in the draft. Then I started to get it. Rosen opening his mouth and looking so bitter and childish made it easier as well. The poll was basically a toxicity poll. Since the first week, we’re seeing less and less crying and more people understanding the pick and why it was made. Sure, the jury is still out and we won’t know what we have until the bullets start flying. Adding a “wait and see” to the poll would assuredly end in a majority for that option. This way, I was able to see how many are still possibly toxic. Makes sense to me but I understand why others wouldn’t understand it

Those are the people that would most likely continue to be toxic. Not all, but some. If the poll showed a 60-40 then I’d frequent the site a bit less until it subsided, just as I did the week after the draft. During that week, I would be annoyed rather than excited each time I visited the board. I was very happy with the draft as we landed one of the top 4 QBs (and a qb of our choice as opposed to whichever QB fell to us). Drafting Edmunds and Phillips were the icing on the cake. I think teller is a capable starter and that Taron and Neal could be great fits. I was stoked. Yet, coming here, I’d be annoyed with the crying and whining “but they didn’t draft the guy I wanted! ?”. I’m pleased with the results and the comments made about our new QB and I’ll check the board every chance I get. Sorry if I couldn’t properly communicate why the poll was posted as it was. Pirate Angel
I did not like the pick I still dont understand it The last 3 Qbs weve taken in the 1st round werent that good in college. Between Petermans trick shots and Allens combine this regime seems to like qbs who look great in shorts. The terrible decision to start Peterman agains one of the top pass defenses in the league while the entire squad has been playing like crap for weeks isn't establishing confidence that this coaching staff can develop a qb. That being said, I hope Josh proves me wrong he seems like a good kid and would be fun to route for.
