Maybe. But they just restructured his contract to make it essentially a 1 year deal and they have hosted many of the top QB's. I think one of the top 4 drop down to 10 and I don't believe for a second it will be Rosen, I think it's Mayfield who will drop. You also have to keep in mind that some of these teams will be sitting on elite talent at need areas and they may not want to pass up on such talents, other teams may not want move down that far because they won't be able to draft a comparable talent later on.

You don't hear it talked about a lot but Garrett and Chubb would be ridiculous.

Being a long suffering Bills fan, I have always empathized with Browns fans.  I'm really excited to watch the Browns this year,  I think they may finally be on the cusp of turning things around.  They will be fun to watch this season.  You're right, that pass rush will be crazy if they add Chubb with Garrett.

I do like trading up a couple spots for Mayfield. But with Evans still there at 22, gotta take him. Will billy price even be ready by training camp???

I really like Evans a lot, but this draft wasn't about what I want, this was my attempt at guessing the picks.

That is a nice mock. I heard someone on Sirius predict that we would trade down to 9 with the 49ers.

I do however think that the Giants will draft a qb.

Gettlleman is a very interesting guy and is on Sirius quite often. He says that missing on a qb is a "5 year mistake."  It made me think how a vast majority of our Bills 1st round picks were 5 year mistakes lol. Donte Whitner anyone?

I really do not think that our current leadership is this stupid; good news indeed! :)

It would be nice to see our teams picking 30-32 every year after all these rough years ... I was at the playoff game when Clay Matthews intercepted Kelly at the goal line. Those were good years for both these franchises :)

There is a LOT of talk in NYC about the Jets taking Mayfield (I would almost immediately write that in any mock draft at this point).

Also, a LOT of talk about the Browns talking Allen #1 overall.

I think the Giants end up trading the #2 pick to the Bills who will pick Sam Darnold (it won't include the 2019 1st round pick either). The Giants need to rebuild that roster and the picks will include this years and probably a next years draft pick. My guess would be something like #12, #22, #56, #96 and 2019 2nd round pick.

It was looking so good until you took Billy Price. We have two capable OG/C in Groy and Bodine. We need to find a LB to lead this defence and the best LB in the draft fell right into our laps and we passed. Why didn't you give us Vander Esch?

Best case scenario. I would heartily approve. Even Price is a stud...though I would rather Evans or LVE as an LB at 22.

Or the one just above where we give up a ton of picks for Darnold (but not our 2019 first). That’s my 2nd favorite scenario.

I agree. This is a believable draft, but I'd take Vander Esch or Evans there. Or if we are going lineman, how about the versatile Wynn. Price is very likely to drop into the late 2nd round. That being said, while I'm not on board with second pick, I'm impressed with this draft all around.

It's not gonna happen, but if Guice dropped to mid-2nd round, I'd be ecstatic to take him.

Rosen is my guy....I am homed in on that now

but I gotta ask.....if Lamar Jackson is going 15.....then it really is not all that out of the question to take him at 12 and keep ALL of our picks

and 96 is the one I dont want to give up in this scenario...u can get a OL or LB there

probably doesnt matter....we are trading up for Rosen

Gotham Bill, The notion of missing on a qb  being a five year mistake is archaic. With the way the contracts are structured for high draft picks if you miss you have alternative options at redeeming your mistake through the draft or through trades and free agency. It didn't take long for the Bills to recognize that EJ simply didn't have it. In short order they got Orton and then acquired TT. They certainly weren't perfect options but they were reasonable options that allowed the team to stay competitive.

Where it does get problematic is when you use a lot of resources (draft picks) to get your prospective qb. That hurts you from a cap standpoint (cheaper young players) and because the costly investment makes one more hesitant to seek another option because of unwillingness to acknowledge a franchise error.

I have always believed that if you don't have a franchise qb then it is better to error on the side of being aggressive in addressing that void rather than being inexplicably passive as Whaley was. That doesn't mean that you should absurdly reach and not be sensible; what it does mean is that it should be a priority endeavor until it is accomplished.

This is the year that the Bills should come out of this draft with a high end prospect. There are a number of reasonable options to take. I will be deeply disappointed if it doesn't materialize. Without a doubt this regime is much more astute than the prior laggard regimes. I ooze with confidence that when this draft is completed I will be buoyant.

This mock seems to have a built in Bills fan bias of what you hope happens.  Allen to Jets and Mayfield to Bills with us giving up very little.

I can't think of any draft where 4 QBs have went in the top 10 picks, I've never seen that happen one time in my entire life. I think Jets are posturing with the Mayfield hype, why leak that information? Height and character concerns will cause Mayfield to drop.

Articluate as always, John C.  Giants trading out or at least not taking a qb will be key to Bills having a reasonable shot at acquiring one of the top 4.

In addition, I don't believe that Denver wants to draft a qb. One scenario I would love to see play out is for Rosen to be available by the 5 and 6 spot. Then hopefully there is an opportunity to make a deal. The team I am honing in on is the Colts. If they make a deal they could parlay their original pick with trades to NY Jets and Buffalo and have a load of high picks to bolster their roster.

When I think of hot garbage, I think of a cocky kid who gets tackled by cops in the middle of the night, grabs his junk in front of millions of television viewers and poses shirtless with a "karate kid" bandana on an SI cover.

Lamar Jackson will become a 10+ year franchise QB in the NFL, Baker Mayfield will be a bust.

I can't impress upon this Board enough that I think the Dolphins are bat s**t crazy and that if you were to look at their draft board it would have only 10 words on it: "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", written 10,000 times...and that should scare the hell out of anyone drafting behind them.

The Phins are either going to trade up and grab the QB we are eyeing and have him hold for field goals for three years or they are going to draft Olaf Pilor because they heard good things about him on the Internet at www.theonion.com.

23.) PATRIOTS: Mason Rudolph, QB

I would be disappointed if the Pats get Rudolph.  While I don't pretend to have any special ability to evaluate QB talent, Rudolph is the one QB this year who has really started to grow on me.  I wouldn't take him ahead of the top four QBs, but if the Bills missed out on the big four for whatever reason,  I wouldn't be upset if the Bills took Rudolph later in the first round.  I think Rudolph sitting behind Brady for a couple years and learning will end up being a really good pro QB.

I'd rather not see that happen...

I honestly think the Bills would draft Rudolph before drafting Mayfield. Due to his immaturity issues, I really feel that Baker Mayfield is off the Bills draft board entirely. I just don't see Beane and McDermott being all in on that type of guy.

Price is a real good prospect, I love Wynn too. But Price, Bodine, Groy, Miller and Duccasse would give us a sick interior with Dawkins protecting the blindside, Mayfield would have outstanding protection. It would also be nice to have our 3 starting interior linemen being able to play all three positions inside. Price to me is a Nick Mangold type of prospect, I think he is the best center in the draft.

I agree, I see zero chance one of the top 3 fall that much. IMO Arizona or Miami will be very active to move up to 7 right under our noses just like the Jets did with that Indy pick. If the Bills sleep with this new staff like Whaley did all those drafts on waiting for a QB to fall to them IMO another team will spend to take said QB just like always, missed by that much. Almost had em.

IMO expect the fish to take a QB with that first pick with a slight move up for one of the top 4 or if all gone I think they are also in the Rudolph talk and could move down a little then take him long before NE does. I think Arizona is big on Jackson not Rudolph but if Mayfield, Rosen are within grasp they will pull the trigger to move up IMO.

I think that Gettleman meant was that it takes 5 years to recover from NOT drafting a very  good quarterback when you have the opportunity to select one. For instance, the Bills passed on Mahomes last season and chose to draft a corner. I am not claiming to know if Mahomes is any good but if he is, the Bills will be set back no matter how good the corner turns out to be.

I am not a Giant Fan. Never was; but, I think that Gettleman is going to be a fine GM. And I don't think he will pass on drafting a qb.
