plenzmd1
Not even close..DiCamillo Scarletta Italian. Never leave a trip to WNY without 7 loaves. Freezes great, and makes the absolute best toast you will ever have. https://www.dicamillobakery.com/collections/italian-scaletta-breads This is crazy expensive, like $5 a loaf at the bakery. For those that fly in, they have opened a bakery on Main St in Williamsville just a few minutes from the airport. Dont have to go into the Falls anymore. Gugny
For breakfast, I prefer rye toast. Villa's (Glens Falls, NY) Eye Talian bread with any Eye Talian entree. Rock Hill Bake House bread (South Glens Falls, NY) (they have many different varieties, but I like the pane bello, farmbread and sourdough the best) for any sandwich. teef
like fading and gal said, it's really tough to choose. lately at our local farmers market, a bakery has been selling salt bread that's actually incredible. it's a simple idea, but i feel like i'm eating fried dough that's been doused in salt vs sugar.

teef
i know it's a bit off topic, but while we're on bread, can we talk about how terrible easter bread is? every damn year i try some thinking i'm going to like it, and every year i'm just a bit more disappointed in myself for thinking so. Augie
The wife’s favorite restaurant in Atlanta (Canoe) has a great selection of breads they bring around. I usually go with the cranberry/nut bread and the flat bread. I think the entrees are probably good too, but I’m never hungry by then.

Punching Bag
I am a non-white bread guy and leaving out fruit breads like Vánočka the best bread I ever had was a Zopf bread (braided) made using pumpernickel batter I had at a German restaurant when travelling. They had bags of bread at counter and customers would come and just get bread orders. It had caraway seeds and they used blackstrap molasses when making it. Commercial breads I prefer are irish soda bread and Hawaiian Sweet Round Bread. Locally many of the stores now carry Hawaiian Sweet Bread rolls. YoloinOhio
Dicamillos is awesome. When I was a kid in the 80s we used to go to Ontario bakery right across the border. They had the best bread and cookies (I thought at the time). Last time I was heading up to the Falls I saw it was closed (probably has been for awhile now).
