  1. Golf Mates - British golf group Golficity - 2 cousins from NJ that play known and unknown courses in the US Random Golf Club - they have a thing called "The Breaking Series" where they put random golfers of different skill levels on mostly famous pro course setups to see if they can break a certain score Jolly - 2 British dudes who try all different types of foods Korean Englishmen - the same 2 British Dudes (one of them went to college in Korea) and they do mostly videos about food The recap - I like golf and I'm fat
  2. Orioles fan. Went to game vs. Red Sox this past season. Had great seats right behind home plate - didn't pay Yankee stadium prices, but they weren't cheap. It was a 4:00 game, and a couple 20 something guys show up and can tell they had been on golf course and soon after was evident they had been drinking all day. They were Orioles fans also and one of them was just screaming nonsense the whole game. Finally in about the 6th inning, he said something that caused my 21 year old to snap and tell him "would you just shut the f up" and we just kept going at it the remainder of our time in the seats. He was insulting everything about us including my sunglasses and my orioles hat - which was just a normal hat. We finally had enough and watched the last 2 innings from another section. I kept my eye on him from a couple of sections away and am happy to report that he obviously had pissed enough people off that he was being visited by Baltimore's finest in the 9th inning. The O's lost, I spend $300+ on tickets and my ears hurt from his nonsense. I did email the Orioles after the game and they gave me 4 free tickets to another game later in the season that we went to and enjoyed. But it was the first time I'd ever gotten into it with a fan of the team I was rooting for.
  3. This is JD McKissic replacement that Beane lost out on in the off-season. It's blatantly obvious that Beane/McDermott wanted this type of player in the system and since Cook isn't there yet, they feel this is the player. I think its a good signing and he will have an impact during the run.
  4. something in between....I think he was having fun, but it seemed a left-handed jab...
  5. Jim Kelly - twice. Both in Richmond, VA (for those of you that don't know, a couple of his brothers played at University of Richmond and settled here and Jim actually built a house down here, but it was when Hunter was still alive and they decided it best to keep him with consistent treatment, etc.). - First time was at the airport. I was ironically checking in for a flight to Rochester and he was checking in for a flight to Buffalo. I was wearing a Bills polo shirt and he shook my hand and said "nice shirt". Was a bit star struck, but managed a "thanks - go Bills" - 2nd time, my Dad had caught wind that Jim was going to be in town for a charity golf tourney. It just so happened that one of his nephews had a HS football game the same night. We guessed that he may attend the game, so we went. Had been wanting to see the kid play anyway. We were standing on the track against the fence and the team came out of the locker room. Sure enough, Jim comes out with the coaches and walks to the sideline, passing right by us. My dad yells "hey Jim, we're from Buffalo". Jim turns around, looks my dad straight in the eyes and said "sorry to hear that". Gave a little ***** eating grin and walked away.
  6. I'm glad that you brought this up as the other 715 threads didn't hammer it home
  7. My wife just got us tickets to see Marcus Mumford solo in November in DC. I love his musicianship and voice - slightly worried as I don't love going to concerts where I don't know the songs. I would think he'll perform some M&S songs, but I bet it will be a heavy nod to his solo album coming out.
  8. Theory: They foreshadowed by showing the Vacuum Cleaner guys card during one of the recent episodes. I think Jimmy gets scared for Kim's life and she is the first to go with the vacuum cleaner guy. The show will end with her and Jimmy eventually meeting up in Omaha....
  9. Buy subs before the game to eat after. Grab some chips and cookies. A few beers to wash it all down with. You'll be glad that you didn't go to a restaurant.
  10. Davis had a receiving touchdown....but your take is spot on as usual.
  11. Someone in another thread mentioned that Allen seemed to be "looking for comfort" on the bench. Barkley is likely not the player that Trubisky is, should a backup ever need to be called into action, but does he have some other leadership qualities that "comfort" Josh and other members of the team. I know that he always seemed very visible on the sidelines, on social media, etc. Just a coincidence, or has anyone else had this thought?
  12. Hi Everyone, Looking for other good spots for tailgating. I've spoken to Mead and it is clear that we will be arriving too late to make it into Hammers. Any recommendations for other places to park that is a good time? We should be able to arrive between 9 and 930. Appreciate your input in advance.
  13. Traveling with a group of 3 vehicles? Would we be able to park at Hammers? what time would be best to get there? are there vaccine requirements for tailgating? what is price? cash accepted? Wouldn't need preferred spots - just 3 spots total. thanks in advance!
  14. ok - sounds good. my group that is going next week is all vaxed, but didn't want to wait ridiculous amounts of time at gates. as a follow up - how was traffic? read for opener, if you weren't in a tailgate by 930 or 10, you may have been in traffic until game time/.
  15. How was the gate entry process? Did they match vaccine cards to ID's or anything?
  16. I was on an early morning flight from Richmond to Portland, ME, with a connection in Logan. Landed in Logan some time around 830. Had a bit of a layover, so walked around with some co-workers to get some breakfast. Got back to the gate and they made an announcement that the flight to Portland was delayed. Everyone was like "oh great, of course...". A little while later another announcement - a longer delay. Nobody knew what was happening. I called the lady in Portland that we were going to see and she said "oh is it because of the plane hitting the building?". I had no idea what she was talking about about. Finally - the last announcement - "The airport is closed. Please head to baggage claim to collect your belongings. Get out of the airport immediately". Holy crap - what is going on. We started hearing words of the crash, etc. We go down to baggage claim and suitcases literally stacked floor to ceiling. Luckily we spotted ours quickly and went to the Hertz kiosk outside the airport. Waited for a loooong time and literally got one of the last cars. Consult with my dad who was a trucker/bus driver his whole life for best route back to Richmond - didn't want to drive through NYC/DC. Decided to go East on 90 into NYS and pick up 81 to go south. Here's the rub - it's total grid lock getting out of Boston. Literally traffic jam for hours. Finally get to Natick, MA (Doug Flutie's hometown) about 6 p.m. Stop at a Dunkin - get some food and see the images for the first time on TV. Push on and decide to drive as far as we can. End up getting to Carlisle, PA some time around midnight or later. Check into some cheap hotel. Sleep for about 5-6 hours. Get up and leave for the rest of the drive. Was back in Richmond late morning. Craziest day of my life. My wife was at home with a 7 month old, scared out of her mind. A day that I will never, ever forget.
  17. Sorry if this has already been brought up. I realize Brown and Beas played, but man - didn't see any of the motion, etc. that has been so successful over the last several weeks.
  18. Me and a few buddies enter the lottery every year. I won tickets for Tuesday in 2017. It was definitely a bucket list item and I would definitely go again. I will say this - the access to the players and grounds was AMAZING because it was a practice round. With that said - from a competitive standpoint, it was slightly boring because you'd see a guy hit a shot into a green and then they would put a bunch of little pods around the green and putt to all of the different potential hole locations. The general highlight was watching the players and caddies skip balls across the pond on 16. The specific highlight for us was the dumb luck of walking up on what we were told was a big money game - Couples, Vijay, Stricker and Furyk. We followed them for 4-5 holes. I remember on one hole, Freddy's ball was resting on a sprinkler head and he just rolled it off. Vijay was legitimately pissed and was like "what the hell are you doing???"...hahaha
  19. I can't sleep and I lay and I think, the night is hot and black as ink, oooh god I need a drink of cool, cool rain....Sir Roger Daltrey
  20. I use Waze and it typically always routes you correctly based on traffic.
