  1. I really didn't want her to win, but I do think she had the better game. However, in looking at the leaderboard on www.lpga.com, she is really taking it on the chin. She is +7 thru 10. I wouldn't mind being the one providing it for her chin though. http://golf.about.com/library/slideshows/blbb3_slide2.htm
  2. I was just going to ask if they would be doing a live version of the "Ambiguously Gay Duo" instead of the animated version....
  3. I've played league ball (still play) , tournament ball, umpire ASA and there are about 2 or 3 guys on every team that "hit one out" on their "other team" every week, but can't manage to do anything but pop out on my team. Transalation - they hit one out at a field with 275 ft fences in their co-ed league once this season.
  4. I have also had it from the Glory Days in the West End. It was extremely salty. The roll was good, but the beef was weak.
  5. Absolut & Tonic with a twist....just like sprite....
  6. There is a chain here in the Richmond area called Ukrops. The "holier than thou" owners have a stronghold on the local market. They are responsible for Howard Stern being taken off the air several years ago in the area and just tipify the conservatism of the state. Basically, they think their stojan doesn't stink. I would LOVE to see Wegmans come closer and blow those guys out of the water. I just don't see it happening.
  7. The wife (VA native) suggested this morning that we make the trip up to check out the new Wegmans in NOVA. Let me first say how awesome that store is. Let me next say that there were so many fuggin people there that they had police directing traffic in and out. They had everything that I was looking for (Italian Sausage patties, zweigles, sponge candy, webers mustard, salt potatoes). Other things they had that I didn't buy, but know as regional - Sahlens hots, anchor bar sauce, boss sauce, chivetas and many other things that I'm sure I'm forgetting. The only thing that I was looking for, but couldn't find was Kluski noodles. Again, the store is INCREDIBLE. Deli counter, butcher shop, seafood shop, bakery, cheese shop, wine department (over 1500 bottles), etc. I could have stayed 2 more hours, but the 1 and 4 year old had enough. Anyone in the region should check it out.
  8. Having season tickets to a UHL team (Richmond Riverdogs) that aren't going to sign any NHL'ers, it makes me sick. These players are literally taking jobs from guys that have to work on farms, as personal trainers, etc. in the offseason just to make ends meet. To make it worse a lot of these "star" players are only playing home games as they don't want to make the bus trips to these other cities. There was an article in the local paper and many of the players shared Kerr's sentiments. I think it is crap. Oh and go to www.theuhl.com and check out the stats page. Some of the NHL'ers are enjoying success, but Chelios and Hatcher (Motor City Mechanics) are actually a minus in +/-.
  9. I was a senior at Hermitage High School in Richmond when Jamie Sharper was a Sophomore and Darren Sharper and Shawn Barber were Freshmen. Everyone knew Jamie Sharper would play Div 1, but Darren and Shawn were absolutely tiny when they were Freshmen (incidentally both played Div 1AA). Just bored on a Christmas Eve morning. Merry Christmas to all.
  10. Just a thought. We have virtually the same defensive players as last year. And while the defense was good last year, they are beasts this year. Not sure if it is more time together, etc, but I think it is because Jerry Gray can finally game plan and call plays without looking over his shoulder.
  11. The thread that I posted on this subject yesterday was pretty much ignored, so I'll give my point again: Better teams are supposed to beat worse teams. At the beginning of the year we didn't beat Oakland and Jacksonville because we weren't better than them - that day. Now that the team has had time to get comfortable in the system, jel, etc, we are a better team than a lot of teams. Again, some people are naturally complainers. I just have to live with that I guess.
  12. But seriously...if we were 8-4 right now those 2 additional wins would have been against "inferior opponents" Oakland and Jacksonville. Would people still be bitching that our 8 wins came against teams that were no good? Isn't that the freaking point. Better teams beat worse teams. I'm sick and tired of hearing how Seattle is no good and St. Louis is no good. At that time we weren't the better team or we would have won. Now that we have "jelled" we are better and probably would win those games. I guess I just have to live with the fact that some people are naturally complainers....
  13. I have been drinking wine the last 2 Sundays, so being superstitious, I will continue. As someone had mentioned, Yellow Tail is a good cheap wine (only had the merlot). I am actually a big fan of Red Zinfandels. Don't confuse with White (pink) Zinfandel. There is a brand called Ravenswood that is excellent and is typically under $10 per bottle. Let us know how it turns out.
  14. Richmond Riverdogs vs. Adirondack Frostbite UHL Hockey action. Dogs win 4-3 in shootout.
  15. My apologies if he did. I could have swore that it was McGahee in there.
  16. He would have gotten the job done after the Reese interception. I haven't read through all the posts, but I don't see where anyone has mentioned this yet.
