Those are my thoughts exactly. Call me soft (read gay), but I typically enjoy the guys singing better than the girls (and no I'm not gay). I tivo'd the show and watched the hockey game, but found that I maybe WATCHED a total 20 minutes of the footage - basically to hear the bashings by the judges.

Has the show lost its lustre? No posts since the middle of Jan. Top 24 in the hizzy. This was one of the treads I used to look most forward to. I do think they need some new blood other then Paula and Randy...Simon must stay.

I used to do a recipe that I believe consisted of wings, a jar of plum sauce and a few tablespoons of five-spice salt. Put it in the crock pot and let it go. It has a very good asian flavor. You could add some asian hot sauce if you want to spice it up, but if I want "hot" wings, then buffalo style is best. These satisfied my asian tastebud...

Just had an hour-long chat. I blew her out of the water. I could feel her excitement with the answers that I gave. Even if I don't get this position, the lady that I spoke with will be my new boss' boss and I think I'm in a good spot now. She apologized and said that there was a clerical error and I was left off the original list (as was another guy that works for her). Thanks again for all the support.

Quick update. I was contacted by Corporate Recruiting today and have a phone interview at 1:00. I called the boss and he said that he received a call telling him that it was an oversight on their part. I am still a bit skeptical and one side of me feels like I'm only being interviewed because he made a stink, but the other side of me wants to knock them dead and leave them wondering why I wasn't on the original list. Thanks to all of those that replied and sent P.M.s. I'll keep you posted.

thanks to those that have responded. my boss is very upfront and we are very, very close. he actually called me this afternoon (he is in FL, me VA) and he is very bothered by the whole situation. i didn't mention before but the job is for 4 positions nationwide and they had a ton of applicants. apparently he heard through one of his peers that one of their people were not interviewed and it turned out HR "left them off the list accidentally". he is still unclear as to what happened in my situation, but he has a call in.

My company is reorganizing its management structure and my current boss is taking a new role therefore opening up a spot above. I (along with my 2 other peers) applied for the job. My boss (who has never been anything other than upfront with me) said that he recommended me for the spot to the hiring person. Well, a good bit of time later, I find out that both of my peers were interviewed, the interviewing is over and I didn't even get an interview!!!! I made my boss aware of it and he seemed shocked and said that it HAS to be a mistake. He is going to look in to it and get back to me. Any thoughts, similar situations to share, etc???

I don't think he'll be the next big thing either, but we did play Jacksonville isn't exactly a "week defense" to quote you above.

My dad asked the same thing. I think the actual quote was along the lines of "this is either going to be a run or pass by Brett Favre"...alluding to the fact that there was an empty backfield. That reminds me of when I played HS football. We had this one coach, who before every play, yelled "Watch the run. Watch the pass. Watch the screen. Watch the draw." I graduated HS 17 years ago and still think about that and laugh to this day.

I played HS ball with Jamie and Darren Sharper and also Shawn Barber. They are all younger than me, but I remember that Darren Sharper was the smallest kid on JV and got picked on terribly...

I played in a pro-am last Monday (www.prosbeatingcancer.com) and the pro with whom we played (I will not mention names) said that Mickelson was BY FAR the most hated player on tour (by his peers). He went on to say that Phil will take TV execs out to dinner to gain more face time, etc. Also said that Phil is always by himself in the locker room, etc. He also said Tiger was a great guy. Guys love him.

I did a lot of gambling at O'Sheas in the bottom of Flamingo. The place is a dump, but it is open air and pretty easy to get a spot at a table. I cleaned up at 3-card poker there. The dealers were so inept, I was literally telling them how much to pay everyone each hand. And the beer is free and cold there just like anywhere else.
