  1. the sunday ticket doesn't carry pre-season games...
  2. I was just in Louisville and had a poor dinner experience. I never complained once, but the waitress (I was sitting at the bar) recognized that my food took way too long and that my steak was not cooked to order. When it was time for me to leave, she said that it was taken care of (including the 3 beers I drank). I would guess the total bill would have been about $35. I dropped a $10 spot on the bar and walked out. It was an ok meal, but not worth $35...definitely worth 10 though...
  3. Well...I'm back to work after a relatively painless experience. Thanks for all the well-wishers.
  4. I honestly started this thread to lighten my mood. It has worked!!! Thanks guys!!!
  5. I'm going in to be castrated tomorrow. Any recent experiences by my Bills brothers? I'm having the "no-scalpel" variety. Also, I'm supposed to play in a golf tourney next Thursday. Is that realistic??? Serious replies only . Thanks.
  6. I just got home from umpiring a pair of double-headers. 1st set fine. 2nd set one team won the first game 15-0. The team on the losing end was doing nothing but whining the entire game (about my calls, about the other team running up the score etc.) So we get the last game going, the losers are hanging in there for a little bit and early in the game I make a bang-bang call against them. One guy flipped out, swore at me and I gave them a warning. Well, the good team starts breaking out the whoop-a$$ again and the losers are beginning to unravel. It all ended when a guy over ran 3rd, they threw behind him and I called him out. 3 guys basically flipped out on me and started throwing f-bombs at me. I ended the game right there and walked off. As I was walking off and was being told how horrible I was, I shot back "you guys were pretty special too". I know it was stooping to their level, but I needed to get the last word. Sorry, just needed to vent and tell all of you softball guys to remember your umpires have day jobs, families and feelings.
  7. we both have camera phones, but we didn't bring them down with us. they actually had some big dudes working security down there
  8. she did not go topless and there wer no cameras allowed in that pool area
  9. LAMP It was our last night in Vegas and the wife and I were walking through the Forum shops at Caesar's and my wife says "I think that is Deion Sanders". I said no, he's walking all alone and no one is mobbing him. Sure enough, it was him - he was wearing a Tom Landry shaped hat and a very loud striped shirt. My wife (who hates him - long story - made some not so nice remarks one time about not liking Richmond when he was playing minor league ball and his wife was picked on or something) basically goes running up to him and says "hey Deion (we both shake his hand) can we get a picture?" He declined saying he was "on vacation too". He was nice about it and I respect the man being on vacation. I'm certainly no fan of Deion, but it is always cool to rub elbows of celebs. Also saw Pete Rose doing a signing. If you have never been to Vegas - YOU MUST GO. It was my third time (first in 6 years). Highlights: - the European (aka topless) pool at Caesar's - still can't believe the wife agreed to go - The Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay - Emeril's at MGM - Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay) at Caesar's - Fish Tacos for brunch - incredible - First ever massage - did a couples massage and couldn't believe how much it was going to cost before we did it - but worth every penny
  10. I'm back. We had a great time. Hyland Hills was ok - a bit old, but in good shape. Foxfire was gorgeous, but I thought the staff were a bunch of arrogant dicks. The condos were a disaster - we pull up right in the Pinehurst complex - check out the first room - dead roach on the floor. Go to the second room - live roach on the floor. Luckily we never saw a roach in our room, but we were leary all weekend. For next year, we are going to explore Williamsburg, VA Beach and Nags Head. I also heard Ocean City, MD is nice.
  11. UPDATE: I contacted an attorney (referred by someone at the office) and the papers are being drawn up. I have to meet with the attorney next week, go over the questions, take a draft home to the wife, make changes and then come back together to sign. FWIW - the issue was never about the cost of the will. I just thought that my situation was simple enough to where I didn't need to go through all of the steps mentioned above. The cost of the attorney is around $400. Thanks to all who posted their thoughts.
  12. My gut told me to hire a lawyer. I guess it just took some pushing along from the all the experts here. Thanks to all that replied thus far.
  13. A product called Will Maker was recently recommended to me (actually by a real estate attorney). However, the attorney at our office was dead against using this. I have read all of the reviews and they seem to be positive and it was also recommended by Clark Howard (financial guru type guy on the radio). I was wondering if anyone had any experience using software to create a will and also if there are any attorneys out there that have an opinion one way or the other. Oh - married, 2 kids, nothing very complex as far as assets, liabilities, etc. I would want everything to go to wife/kids. Thanks in advance for your help.
  14. I was just waiting for Simon to say to Bucky "that was a nice tribute Mandisa to start the show". That would have been hilarious.
  15. We had a bit of a challenge with course availability due to aeration schedules. The week we are going is the first week of the "off season" and several courses were going to punch the greens that week. Also, I wanted to choose some courses that were playable for all skill levels, ages, etc. My dad and F-I-L go and they are bit older. We also have some guys that are not really "golfers" that go. I heard that Tobacco Road, The Pit, etc were a bit difficult. I may play an afternoon round at one of those places though. For your Richmond area guys, I was just invited to play the Dominion Club on thursday. I've played there a few times and it is nice. If you ever get the invite, don't turn it down.
  16. One round at #2 costs more than my entire package. Seriously, a guy going on the trip was going to go down a day early and play. $425 - that is a bit out our range. As for Savannah/Hilton Head, it is a bit far as some family comes down from the Rochester area and honestly is probably a bit out of our price range. The entire package that I mentioned above was $285 and that includes 3 breakfasts. I try to keep things under 3 bills. Thanks for the input so far.
  17. After several years of golfing at Myrtle Beach, my group (actually me) has decided it is time for a change. So - here are the details: 3 nights (staying at Pine Valley Condos on Pinehurst #3) 3 rounds (Hyland Hills, Foxfire East, Foxfire West) As I am the group leader and basically made this decision for 20 guys, I'm a bit worried if the courses/accomodations are of the quality my guys are used to. If anyone has any feedback about either of the courses or particularly the accomodations, I would certainly appreciate it. Thanks!
  18. Yuengling Light is good and the price is right.
  19. So why use the offset? I have a conventional Cobra and love it. Driver: Cobra 440 SZ 3&5 Wood: Cobra SZ 3-PW: Tommy Armour Hot Scots 51 & 56: Tommy Armour Putter: STX Greenjoy Balls: Nike One Gold or ProV's (company logo when I can get my hands on them!) Let me also say that I bought a pair of Footjoy e-comfort shoes last year. BY FAR the most comfortable pair of shoes I own.
  20. Even though it was only 12 weeks ago, it may well have been 12 years ago. The players were so fired up about the season, talking all that smack about "being a household name". It actually made me sad to see how far we have fallen...
  21. I just found out that I scored 2 of my company seats in an executive suite (12 person). Will be there with some people I don't know, but I'm excited for my Dad who is going with me. Does anyone have any experience sitting in a box? Do you feel like you are part of the crowd?
  22. I'll be there...staying at Marriott North Ft. Lauderdale.
