Especially when it's more than my customers make. It makes them uncomfortable and changes how they feel about buying from me. The story isn't him speaking out though. If you think you can put together a great case for it, I suggest you do. I love how we all act like we don't complain about the same crap granted he shouldn't have tweeted it out. But Watkins isn't an average employee and if anything Watkins has a better case given the health issues football players face. I also think all athletes in all sports are paid way way way too much as it is. Tough, assumption of risk. He wants paid like that, go make a Basketball roster. I view some of the leagues elite superstars the same way I view some of the best actors or musicians. Sammy does things I've never seen another WR do before and the same can be said about Taylor at the QB Position. Taylor throwing long to Sammy is like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. They aren't wrong either. The league has massive revenues and they play for less money without the guarantees. It's kind of a non-story. He's going to want to get paid like everyone else. If he stays healthy, he will. They are paid a percentage of the revenues. I'd rather see the athletes get a portion than the owners. They are the assets that have made these leagues so rich. They are wrong. NFL rosters are MUCH larger than NBA rosters. If NFL players want guaranteed money they can put it in their CBA. Perhaps it's their union that's the problem. Just a higher percentage of the league revenues. If football players got 51% like NBA players it would be a lot more money 3.5% of $13.3B is $465,500,000. So talking anything other then football for a few minutes will take away your entire focus on the up coming 16 game season? It will take some sort of strike by players union to ultimately rectify the situation through an improved labor agreemenr deal. But NFL players generally arent too bright. I wont hold my breath. I suppose you can paint this as NFL players not being bright, but, that's really not true. They are actually smart enough to realize that their careers are much shorter on average than baseball or basketball. The last time I looked the average career is about 3.3 years. NFL owners know this and they do not believe that an NFL player would be willing to lose 1/3 of their career earnings by striking for an entire season. Owners can simply wait them out.
