I'd hate to see them rename the Raiders, and doubt Mark Davis would ever do that. They are always tied with Dallas of the most jersey sales. Lots of money to be had, and given how much gambling there is near so many stadiums on reservations, why not. It's not like we're still in the days of Bugsy Segal, and Machine Gun Kelly ( well not the original ). Given how many resources they have out there, I would do it in a heartbeat if I were Davis. CA is perpetually broke, and Davis can't foot the bill for a stadium. The one problem I see is that will be an expensive road trip for us as I see that as a very expensive game. I know some people already out there working for the hockey team in a high capacity. I think that's one of the things that's hard for fans to comprehend. Before the Pegula's bought the Bills the Bills competed off the field way more with the Sabres than the Pats. The teams work together to grow the leagues. I'll believe it when I see it. I was in Las Vegas that year the weekend after the NBA All Star Game, and one of the cab drivers told me it was a nightmare. The gangs of the east and the gangs of the west all converged on that city and tourists were terrified. People were afraid to leave the casinos because of the shootings and I heard the rooms were left in a big shambles from the NBA guests. I'm with you. I'll believe it when I see it. Actually I don't think too many 20 somethings worth millions are probably able to control their impulses. I wouldn't have in that situation. There really wouldn't be any "stats" out there to back these things up. If it doesn't involve an arrest there's not going to be a statistic. Plenty of guys are out there partying and going crazy every night, yet they don't get in trouble. Therefore there is no way to quantify the impulse control of young athletes. I would say it's low. I'm not saying there aren't guys who are different, but I do believe it's the minority. With that being said, there is trouble to be found in every city. I don't see Vegas as being a bigger problem than New York or LA as far as trouble for players. You can stay out all night in a lot of cities. It won't scare the NFL away from Vegas. Especially if there is money to be made. That's all they care about. I don't think the NFL is worried about players being hung over. Visiting teams are on a tightly scheduled business trip. It's not the Super Bowl with an extra week. NFL players manage to play in New Orleans, Miami, New York and other places with distractions. Might there be a few more DUI's on game day? Sure, that's the case everywhere. But I don't see the trouble coming from the players. I don't see how "hard drug charges" fit in either.
