Cut hell no, only a moron would agree with this.

If anything, trade him. But even that is stupid for being late to meetings and drag racing. Fine the **** out of him to hopefully curb his appetite for stupidity maybe. But it's not like he killed somebody or ran over a hooker ;)

Clearly Dareus has no comprehension that there are consequences for his actions. Whether or not he needs professional psychiatric care is unclear. I understand Sullivan's views but I don't think cutting the guy is going to solve the problem. It might solve the Bills disipline problem with Dareus but it will create a hole at the DT spot and it won't solve Marcell's behavioral issues. Somebody will pick him up and the problem will move to a new venue.

What I'm looking for is more than HQ Marrone to stick out his neck and say he wants to help the guy. He's a head coach not a guidenace councilor. This situation cries out for veteran leadership. Maybe this is happening behind the scenes? Somebody like Fred Jackson, or the Williams boys on the D-line need to sit down with Marcell and tell he that he is F##$ ing up here and to knock off the crap here and start acting like a professional. Not some dumb kid playing college football going to keg parties the Saturday night after the game.

I was thinking about the old Bills teams of the 90's and visualizing a guy like Talley getting in his face telling him to man up and tow the line here.

Marcel's talent is very hard to replace.

And his infractions, not to make excuses, are relatively minor. He was caught with imitation marijuana (which, depending on the composition, might actually be legal in some states). And he was caught racing.

When I was an officer in the army, I was also caught racing. While I got my ass chewed on three separate occasions by three different higher ranking officers, I wasn't thrown out of the army. Driving too fast doesn't make you a bad person or a bad teammate. And what NFL team ever cut a player for one fake marijuana arrest?

Marcel is immature to be sure. Hopefully Marrone can help him grow up. I think a suspension might be in order to wake him up and send a message to the team. Cutting him would be perceived by his teammates as an over reaction and, in effect, punishing them by making wins harder to come by.

Is Jerry Sullivan still relevant? Nope! TBN should cut this outdated grouchy crusty curmudgeon!

He is absolutely relevant, if not why would almost every single piece he writes end up on Bills boards? Don't think for a second this is lost on him. But keep feeding him, he loves it. He usually gets the most feedback on his stuff in the snooze too.

His, "style" works although not Really the first and best to have that type of writing style. He knows the formula works and he will have his work up here until the day he retires. mission accomplished.

The more I think about this, Sullivan is an ***hole pure and simple. Forget about football, from a human standpoint, I want to talk to Dareus and be like, what's up man? Is everything OK? How can I help you? Rather than say, see ya, not my problem, someone else deal with this kid.

Right. His job is give his opinion and to be read, not to report or give facts. I imagine that his bosses think he's great. I'm not a big fan at all, but I will admit that I read him, and he will often make some good points even in his columns I don't like.

You can hate him and still think he's good at his job. I'm not even sure he believes what he writes a fair portion of the time, which is troubling to say the least.

I almost got suckered into reading his idiotic garbage, but it's really getting obvious now when he's trolling for a controversy. He's such an obvious hack now, it's almost sad and not worth calling him one. I refuse to read his sub-blog level drivel. How pathetic do you have to be as a writer to try and stir up some crap? How pathetic do we as Bills fans have to be to actually read through one of his piles of steaming Sh1t? How on earth the Buffalo News still employs him is staggering.

He had 7.5 sacks and 71 tackles last year. If thats spotty in his play for a DT, we should be so lucky.

If the Bills cut him, then it is not about winning anymore. He's a great player who has made some stupid mistakes in the last few weeks. Have a heart, help the guy, keep your pro bowlers

Would you pick up Aldon Smith? If the niners cut him would you pick him up?

This +1.

Would Talley tell him that before or after he tells him how smart it is to get in a fight at a nightclub the week of the Super Bowl?

This might be the dumbest poll I've seen on here yet... He's 24 and has had it pretty rough. He was slightly inconsistent but his numbers last year were outstanding overall. Why would you ever dream of cutting him at this point?

The simple notion that he could be cut (from a fan perspective) is understandable. He followed up a drug possession with a fairly significant traffic violation. His actions aren't consistent at all with his comments after his drug issue last week. However, everything has to be put into context. If this were Colby Way or Damien Jacobs, they would be long gone. It's not though. Dareus, despite all his challenges last season, was the best DT on the team and arguably a top-5 DT in the league. His situation is much more similar to Dez Bryant a few years ago. Tons of off the field trouble early in his career and what did his team do? They got him a 24-7 escort to keep him out of trouble until he showed the maturity that he didn't need a 24-7 escort. At the end of the day, if his off the field activities start impacting his performance on the field, then you consider parting ways with him. Until that time, you work with this young man to try to figure out where his head is and get him back on track. Given that his actions thus far have only harmed himself, I don't think there's any way the team remotely considers cutting him.

I think all of us are reaffirming that it doesn't make sense to CUT HIM, but, it does make sense to prepare this team for the potential likelihood that this guy will get suspended for this or another transgression. What I don't want to hear, in 3 months is that Marcel did something worse and the Bills are sitting with their thumbs up their a$$es unprepared. These transgressions do not warrant dismissal or being cut, but they are WARNING SIGNS that this kid is in trouble. I'd love to hear more about what the Bills are doing NOW to protect the team from another Dareus issue.

This is football not the church choir. You DON'T cut good young, immature players with an edge if you're building a winning program. You work with them - like Seattle has done with Marshawn Lynch. Remember him? Super Bowl.
