  1. Because the point of the league is not to make the playoffs. I know there are some who believe “just make the playoffs every year and hope you get hot”. And I get the reasoning. But Nate Peterman (just to make up an example), is never winning you a Super Bowl, no matter how many playoff chances you give him. Nor is Tyrod Taylor. etc etc etc. So that logic doesn’t fly for me.
  2. He should feel guilty about bringing Nate Hackett to NY.
  3. With the 43rd pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the Arizona “Draft Crushing” Cardinals (via trade with Atlanta) select: Chris Braswell, Edge/LB, Alabama CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS Having 5 picks in round 3, we are thrilled about trading 2 of them to move up to get someone with his kind of speed to power ratio and with the kind of pass rush first step that’s like a gun shot and keeps offensive lineman up at night. Not only does he bolster our pass rush, but he brings the athleticism and fluidity to drop into coverage and run with those TE’s. We are confident our defensive staff can continue to coach him up and develop his pass rush techniques to be able to wreak havoc at the next level. Draft Recap: TRADES #4 - Trade 4, 138, 162 for 6, 70, 107 #27 - Trade 27 for 32 and 95 Cardinals still have a 2nd at pick 35 and now have 5 picks in the 3rd plus 2 more in the 4th to go with a couple late picks. #43 - We acquire 43 for picks 66 and 71. #6 - ROME ODUNZE, WR, WASHINGTON #32 - NATE WIGGINS, CB, CLEMSON #35 - DARIUS ROBINSON, DT, MISSOURI #43 - CHRIS BRASWELL, LB/EDGE ALABAMA If we were done here, this would be an A+++...but we are still sitting on three 3rd round picks and 2 more in the 4th to bolster more of our offense as well, such as another WR, IOL or RB. Who knows, maybe we see each other again before the rounds over @CNYfanand the Las Vegas Raiders are now on the clock.
  4. Jets fans ready to fire Nate Hackett IMMEDIATELY - yeah, we coulda told you that!
  5. Matt Canada - from the Nate Hackett coaching tree. 🙂
  6. Agree. Still have question's if Matt LaFleur or was it Nate Hackett running the offense or creating plays for Packers.
  7. This has been sticking in YE OLE’s craw. Chris Brown has been saying all week that if Jax loses tomorrow we control our own destiny. He said it again tonight when they signed off after the game. Nate Geary reiterated it on the postgame tonight. As you have aptly states mannc… we already control our own destiny. For better or worse after the dumpster fire that was this game.
  8. Good thing they have your boy Nate Hackett there, perfect coordinator for a rookie QB 😂
  9. With the 35th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Arizona "Draft Crushing" Cardinals select: Darius Robinson, DT, Missouri CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS We are excited to bring in someone with the kind of versatility as Darius who can play inside and out on the Edge for us. He brings a power at the point of attack and an ability to engage and shed blockers which we believe will bring immediate value to his ability to come in and compete early for us. With his stout ability against the run and his continued growth in diversifying his pass rush moves, we believe he can be an anchor upfront for us for along time and thrilled to steal him here at the top of 2nd round. Having already added Odunze, Wiggins, and now Robinson we feel we have really added to the future of both sides of the ball. And because of our small trade downs, we still have 5 picks in the third round and 2 more in the 4th to use to really set an immediate foundation for the future of Cardinals football. #6 - ROME ODUNZE, WR, WASHINGTON #32 - NATE WIGGINS, CB, CLEMSON #35 - DARIUS ROBINSON, DT, MISSOURI If we were done here, this would be an A+++...but still most a 2nd round to go and we are sitting on 7 picks through rounds 3 and 4. So maybe we see each other again soon @H2oand the Washington NoSnyders are on the clock!
  10. Did he though? His best games came against the a freshman corner at UNC, a backup corner and safety at Georgia, Furman, 1-7 in SEC play MSU, 3-5 Florida, Jacksonville State, 0-8 Vanderbilt. His best game was probably against 3-5 Kentucky when he went one on one against Andru Phillips who is a good player. He is pretty good downfield when he can be more physical than the other player and push off or jump over them. He takes a lot of steps to turn those vertical routes and transition them into a comeback or dig. He also is pretty good at running crossers. Watching all of his targets really disappointed me. He was not good at screens or end arounds, regularly getting tackles one on one by everyone including players from Furman, etc. He didn’t run his agilities and you can see why as him getting tackled one on one looks to be from him not being able to dodge players laterally or run through tacklers at his feet. He is very fast when he gets a runway to run a straight line For a five year player, his route running is so under developed which makes you wonder how long it will take him to develop effective counters to corners that take away his verticals. Watching Nate Wiggins mirror him and Legette not having any counter was disappointing. To me, he is a one dimensional player at the moment. You can send him vertical or have him run a crosser but that is not a first round player. Even those hoping he could be the second coming of DK: he is smaller, slower and does not stack vertically like DK did. I think he is a later day 2 guy based on taking a shot on measurables def not day 1, imo.
  11. You are confused about the point. The Bills CLEARLY didn't draft "horrid" in rounds 1 and 2 during the drought. Criticize their roster construction but not so much the talent of the players. Marshawn Lynch is a borderline HOF'er. Steph Gilmore won NFLDPOY. Nate Clements was briefly the highest paid CB in the NFL. Aaron Schobel was a stud pass rusher. Dareus was an All Pro. Robert Woods was a star. Jairus Byrd was an All Pro. Andy Levitre got a huge second contract. Lee Evans was a excellent. Sammy Watkins got a massive second contract from the Chiefs. Willis McGahee rushed for nearly 10,000 yards. Even Lil' Donte Whitner played in 3 pro bowls. They picked enough good players in rounds 1 and 2. That wasn't the problem. All that draft capital expended and just 1 player(Wood) out of a whopping 38 1st and 2nd round opportunities(37 picks and the 1st traded for Bledsoe) over 17 drafts made a contribution remotely commensurate to the Bills investment in them in the season where they finally got back to the playoffs. Again..........the hit rate for any position in the first 2 rounds is much lower than the casual draft fan realizes. And still, even the minuscule amount the Bills had to show didn't even preclude them from being competitive enough to reach the playoffs. I think there are some clear do's and don'ts with early round picks but neither trading up nor trading back is proven as the smarter play. Doesn't really move the needle much financially either, which is a huge component in NFL decisions. The only argument for trading back is more opportunities should provide more rolls of the dice............but the argument against trading back is that your chances of "hitting" drop notably as you move back.

  13. Doug Marrone and Nate Hackett knew that and were 10 years ahead of everyone else..
  14. I can't stand the hype this clown is getting...like he retired. HE WAS FIRED! Belicheat wants to break Don Shula's all-time win record by getting 15 more wins. I think we all see now that it was QB Tom Brady that was the force that drove that dynasty. Without Brady is he even an average NFL head coach? ...he sucks. 8-9 last year, 4-13 in 20-23. The equal of Nate Hackett. 🤪 I disagree with Allen. Mahomes has won more because of his head coach Andy Reid. Without Reid I don't see Mahomes developing like he has...btw what happened to him this season?
  15. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jets-will-dump-tim-boyle-for-brett-rypien Is this a good/bad/no sign of Rodgers sticking around next year? As his boy just got cut. It also could mean Nate Hackett is on thinner ice. Thoughts?
  16. No real NFL coach is having a sub .500 record with this roster after our soft portion of the schedule. You are crazy or drunk. I'm not talking about Nate Hackett.
  17. Back in the '90s and 2000s, it was common for the Bills to use a first round pick on a CB. He'd spend five or (Nate Clements) six years with the team, then leave in free agency. Another first round pick would be used on his replacement. The RB position was similar, except the duration of RBs was often even shorter than for CBs. There was a period of 40 years, during which the Bills used 1/4 of their first picks of the draft on DBs, and another 1/4 on RBs. Leaving only 50% for everything else. Needless to say, the Bills lost more games than they won during those 40 years. When I evaluate the success of a particular draft pick, I look at the quality of the player. But I also look at the duration of play he provided for the team which drafted him. Both Cordy Glenn and Travis Henry were drafted in the second round. Glenn was with the team for far longer than Travis Henry, which is one of several reasons why Glenn was a much more successful use of a 2nd round pick. Edmunds had great athleticism. For certain situations or in certain games he played at a high level. But, his football instincts were poor, and he was bad at shedding blocks. Someone posted a stat that, during his time with the Bills, he was blitzed 70 times or so (I forget the exact number). That resulted in zero pressures. If you take into account both the good and bad parts of his game, he was not worth anything close to the monster contract he got. At least not to me. I would never want to use a first round pick on an off-the-ball linebacker whose game had as many weaknesses as Edmunds' did, and who was only going to be with the team for five years. Harrison Phillips is a very solid player. But, like you said, a very solid player for the Vikings. Just as Wyatt Teller is an excellent player for the Cleveland Browns. I give Beane a lot of credit for drafting both those players in the first place. But he gets anti-credit for failing to keep them. Either player would be a real benefit to the Bills, if added right now. In terms of that draft, I give Beane the most credit for taking Josh Allen (obviously), and the second-most for Taron Johnson. Johnson may not be as good a player as a guy like Wyatt Teller, but at least he's still with the team.
  18. Simean has been much much better. I think with the Rodgers/Hackett connection they made him qb3. Nate Can't Hackett was and is brutal
  19. McDermott thought Nate Peterman was not only a rosterable QB, but starting caliber. So I would say luck definitely has something to do with finding our way to Allen.
  20. Kinda lost in the whole Jets offense sucks thing is how much Nate Hackett sucks
  21. What's so funny about all of this is that the Jets can't fire Nate Hackett. He's Aaron Rodgers' personal OC/coffee boy.
  22. Interesting case. The defense is very strong. He has an injury excuse at QB. The OL is horrendous but wouldn’t that be on the GM? But……he hired Nate Hackett.
  23. (Sorry... this may or may not belong in Off the Wall) Is it an age thing? I don't think I can listen to anything but podcasts at this point. When I listen to music, it's just music I know that I create as Playlists on Pandora. My non-football podcasts are now down to Throughline and Freakanomics. Most of my podcasts are Bills/NFL related, though. Bruce Nolan and The Bruce Exclusive was my absolute favorite Bills podcast... but like right before the draft Buffalo Rumblings went kaput and he lost his platform. Even when he was on, it was only once a week for less than an hour... so not remotely time consuming. Which means I guess I would say Joe Marino's Locked on Bills is my favorite now. I have my gripes... primarily I just think he’s incredibly Robotic and lacks any real personality (unlike Bruce Nolan), but he tries to pretend like he has a lot of personality and he 100% knows his football with a background in scouting. He also has a daily podcast and comes up with pretty good ideas for them every day (the opposite of this would be Pat Moran's Talking Buffalo podcast, which just has a lot of useless, unentertaining time) and so I can say I legitimately listen to pretty much every episode. As for non-football podcasts, The Athletic Football Show with Robert Mayes as host (Nate Tice left just a couple weeks ago) is 100% by far the best sports (and maybe any???) podcast I've listened to. It airs 3 or 4 days a week and every show is informative and entertaining, even if it's non-Bills related. I just listened to a 90 minute podcast about the lingering questions of the NFC East and made it from beginning to end without the desire to turn it off. Mayes is a fun, knowledgeable, funny host who brings good guests on. I miss Tice, but the show hasn't missed a beat. There's also an Athletic Football show GM podcast hosted by Mike Sando featuring Randy Mueller. It's not as good but I listen to it and find it interesting and sometimes informative. Sando does a great job but Mueller has some bizarre takes sometimes... almost like he stopped watching football 15-20 years ago. A very close 2nd for the non-football podcast to listen to is The Mina Kimes show (featuring Lenny). She's an awesome host. Everything I said about Mayes applies to her. I understand there may be some bias one way or another since she's on TV, but she's really created an excellent listen for all the reasons The Athletic Football Show is. Only problem is that her's is only once or twice a week. How about you guys?
