  1. By that I mean the Terps unveiled 32 combos of uniforms prior to the season then busted out their "pride" uniforms on gameday (that no one had seen before). We KNOW the Bills have blue pants sitting on their shelves. Inside sources have confirmed it. Just wondering if they would bust them out for Sept. 11th? That would make a great visual at Arrowhead with blue vs red.
  2. HE also needs to protect himself better. Took too many bone-jarring hits last year on scrambles for minimal yardage. I appreciate him not taking the sacks but he has to slide more and protect himself. Taking on LB's worked while he was a backup and had to prove himself but now that the team depends on him, he should slide.
  3. I think this game will be more about the Chiefs taking a step back this season. Hopefully the Bills can capitalize. My prediction: Buffalo 19 KC 13
  4. I wonder if any of the victims were young enough to have played on the Russian world junior team that won the championship in Buffalo last January? So sad.
  5. There were several ex-NHL'ers on that team and reportedly on the plane... Pavol Demitra and Karel Rachunek are two that i know of. This is not just a tragedy for Russia but for all of the world hockey community. Just horrible news today.
  6. Thumbs up. Anytime they can wrap themselves up in the State flag I think it's a cool thing. I know they already used the state flag colors in their uniforms so it works for them. Most state flags are totally anonymous. Can you even think of another that is as used as much as Maryland's? New York's is totally boring. Anyway, the Terps have 32 uniform combo so they will be using a different one each week...
  7. WHat i need from Spiller other than the obvious is to NOT take negative yardage plays as often as he does. Just take the yard or two if you have to but don't make a 1st and 10 into a 2nd and 12.
  8. Seemed like Detroit's d-line was constantly swamping Thigpen and our 2nd string o-line
  9. I was gonna say the same thing. We're going to see alot of hootin' and hollering from the sidelines because Dareus would not see one play if it were up to me...
  10. I wouldn't go public nationally like that and infer that the Bills could make the playoffs. I would definitely say the Bills are trending upwards though. I'm not sure if that means 5 wins, 7 or 9 wins but they are on the rise.
  11. They were not going to mess with Moorman's rapport with Lindell holding for extra points and FG's. Kickers quickly lose their mojo with a new holder. Moorman would really have to stink up the place to get cut. At some point that day will come though.
  12. I liked Bell last year too. It just goes to show how many RB's there are floating around out there that look really promising. It also shows just how hard it is to be an undrafted RB and make an active roster. As we know, it's the easiest position to fill in the NFL. Hopefully, like Freddie, it takes this kid a couple years to get noticed but ultimately his career takes off.
  13. Happy for Lee. He deserves to see playoffs in his career. how about Tyrod Taylor though? Ravens look like they have another good young qb to develop. I'm envious of their qb situation.
  14. I'd be surprised if Overdorf is making the actual football decisions. I think his main purpose is to carry out the orders of the football side and to work the cap. Can anyone give me an example of a unilateral football decision that he has made? Overdorf knows as much about football as most of the hardcore fans here... HE doesn't sit and study film and coach or scout players as far as i know.
  15. I don't mind when they jettison overpaid players who underperform. Walker and Trent Edwards? my gosh, that was addition by subtraction. Lee Evans is now looked at as an awful move but let's face it, he was not performing up to his #1 WR status for a couple years now. Maybe with the Ravens he can get back his mojo for a year or so but he's on the back 9 of his career. Not a horrible move imo for a re-building team like Buffalo.
  16. Jackson had every right to say what he said. Now it's time to shut it and play ball. Money aside, does anyone (including Fred) really think CJ is going to get more carries in regular season games? No way. Not this year anyway. I don't care if they give CJ 25 carries per game in the preseason. He needs the practice. Fred doesn't need any carries in preseason. That's just wasting his 30 yr old knees and ankles. We know what he can do. The team should be honest with Fred and let him know he is loved...but they should not be giving him the bulk of carries in preseason ball games.
  17. I am in suburban DC in Maryland. My 4th floor office was really rockin and Rollin! Crazy afternoon here.
  18. Yes- the O-line drives everything but the Bills remain a team that has problems getting chunk yardage. They tried to address this with Spiller and Roscoe, etc.. but nothing seems to change. This team needs to drive 10-12 plays to get TD's and that's a recipe for about 13 points per game. Now you will have many drives starting at the 20 due to the stupid kickoff rules. There's so much that can go wrong on any drive (sacks, fumble, int, penalties, negative yardage plays, failed 3rd or 4th down, etc..) that you can't expect more than one or two long drives per game. The best teams like Green Bay and NE hit on some long gainers and grab TDs on short drives. This is a problem that exists for the Bills and other struggling teams every year.
  19. Must you take a negative approach to something positive? The Bills fanbase is really in need of therapy in general over many things but at least applaud that he did something here. The large market and free spending Washington Redskins still don't have an indoor practice facility. They would kill to have something like our field house. Not every team is a quantum leap over Buffalo in terms of facilities, etc...
  20. Ugh, what can you say? regarding New England...that's why they have 16 scouts at their preseason games. Everyone is lining up to pick up the scraps that they have to cut.
  21. If one thing Fitz HAS, it's awareness on the field. The guy usually knows exactly what the D is doing...getting the ball there in time is another story. Anyway, I'm really not all that concerned with Fitz' preseason play. The guy has never been a great practice QB. Heck, Trent usually outperformed him in practice and in practice games. Fitz seems to do much better in games that count. If he starts the REAL season like he has in practice then I'll be concerned.
  22. I think they are setting something up with all that Brad Smith wildcat...run 2 yards into the line of scrimmage stuff. I'm sure Bill Belichick has already broken down exactly what the Bills will do on that play when NE plays us.
  23. It means nothing to established winning teams like Indy or the Bills in the early 90's. It does mean something to teams trying to shed a culture of losing. The Redskins have made this preseason a priority in winning a couple games and getting their QB's (Grossman and Beck) some confidence. The Broncos WANTED to win that game Sat night and be physical. They accomplished their goal. I'm not saying the Bills needed to go 4-0 in preseason but they don't want to look like garbage either. I suspect (and hope) they do enough game planning for this game vs. Jacksonville to try to win it...even with backups. It would do well for team morale entering Sept. 11th.
  24. Fitz is not gonna be traded. I was a little encouraged by Thigpen though. HE had two nice downfield throws dropped or his stats would've looked very good. It's good to see the guy throw the ball downfield too and not be scared.
  25. I think Denver was playing to win and be physical....buffalo was trying some things. Against Jacksonville this week they need to play to win. Can't go 0- for preseason and not get any momentum.
