  1. If you don't want to stray too far you might already realize that the University of Maryland is right near there in College Park. There's a bunch of local joints and chain restaurants on route 1 by the campus. School is not in session so I'm sure it's quieter than normal.
  2. I don't know how anyone could be anti-Pegula. The guy has been a dream owner thus far. Far above and beyond what could be reasonably expected of a good owner.
  3. For me, the only plus for Thursday night games is that it give me the ability to watch one more game that i ordinarily would not pay much attention to. On Sundays it's usually the Bills game and then whatever the big 4pm games are on the ticket. The typical Cardinals/49ers game on a Sunday late afternoon would not garner much attention from me. On a Thurs night I'd watch a bunch of it.
  4. DHGate is great if you like the wrong shade of blue (or whatever the primary color is)....or the correct player jersey number with the wrong name. I think they sometimes buy authentic defective merchandise.
  5. Even the late 1980's-early 90's version had that rubbery looking sleeve trim. The numbers were stitched on though. That white mesh look had to be the most boring, non-descript football jersey ever. It looked like a practice jersey for a no-name team.
  6. If anyone is interested about the blue pants, read on. I caught the last couple minutes of an interview on WGR this morning about the uni's. Not sure which Bills official they had on air though? Anyway, Howard Simon asked him about the pants and if they would always be white. The guy said Yes, "for now"....but, there could be something down the line. Instead of asking him about the blue pants, Simon just joked about Zubaz colored pants.... The bottom line is that it's clear they have blue pants in their arsenal but they are on the shelf for now. I'm sure we will see them at some point, maybe next year....especially if the fans make enough noise about it. As another poster pointed out, at least it eliminates the possibilty of a blue/blue uniform for the time being.
  7. I gotta believe they will roll out the blue pants at some point. Probably just wanted to feature the jersey tonight. I've seen the blue pants shown in other mock ups and on the video leak. Heck, in a blowing snow storm in New England you'd need to see some dark color running around out there. All whites are tough in that weather.
  8. my only concern is that they aren't wearing any blue pants which makes me think they will be all white on the road. Love the jerseys but want blue pants with the white one.
  9. Well, it was inevitable. Someone posted the uni's to the Chris Creamer board. Look on page 61. Those are great looking duds if that's 100% accurate. http://boards.sportslogos.net/index.php?showtopic=78507&st=1200
  10. I agree. I'm really excited about the word mark and logo on the jersey. Lot's of us who wear the jersey live out of state. Can't tell you how few people outside of WNY knew those last jersey's were Buffalo. Now people will know I'm wearing a Bills jersey and I'm damn proud of it.
  11. I am stoked for these new uniforms. The jersey's are better than I could have imagined, imo. I will be in line (online!) the day after they're released to buy the jersey. If i lived in B-Lo I'd go to the event tomorrow.
  12. This whole notion that small market teams like the Bills will be hurt badly because they cannot spend to the cap like the big market teams is hogwash, imo. Look at the Sabres for example. The new owner comes in and says they aren't here to make money, they want to win and will spend whatever it takes. Of course winning will generate profits because winning SELLS. The NFL generates much more revenue of course and there has to be a handful of super rich people out there that would buy the Bills at whatever cost and keep the team here. I'm just not buying the fact that if they go to open auction, they will automatically be bought and moved out of the area.
  13. Look for the logo to be larger on the Real helmet. These replica helmets always have small logo stickers on them.
  14. The invention of the "checked baggage fee" is the most obnoxious, money grabbing idea in a long time. I can't stand it. I am not against airlines creating revenue but $25 or $50 for a bag is insane to me. Just a ripoff. I guess I'm old enough to have flown on countless flights in my life with no baggage fees. I can totally understand if they want to charge for a second or third bag, or an overstuffed bag for say..$5 or $10. To charge for a FIRST checked bag in the $25-50 range is not right. It's like gas prices. Once the companies get used to all the extra revenue it's hard to go back and charge less.
  15. Those passengers are darn lucky the pilot got low enough for them to jump out in time. Poor pilot was burned to a crisp.
  16. This thread was titled Naaman, so I'll keep it about him. The one thing that really impressed me is that he caught everything that was within his reach last season. He didn't flat out drop anything. The guy was really productive in college and clearly "the league" is not too big for him. If he was on New England, Brady would find him underneath 70 times a season. Keep him around...we need all the good young WR's we can get.
  17. It's amazing how some teachers (female and male) cannot control themselves around students. I think that social media outlets, camera phones, IM'ing...all that stuff is contributing to teachers getting caught more. I have to believe this stuff has been happening forever but nowadays we see mugshots in the news everyday. It's crazy.
  18. Last weekend they just opened up another Wegmans down here in Maryland (Frederick). You wouldn't believe the fanfare and hype. Thousands of people came to the opening. I have to admit, the one's they open down here are so much nicer than i remember in WNY. They are huge and have live music, food, chef stations, wifi and childcare to name a few. It's a destination point. Have fun going in Mass.
  19. I agree. Based on the screenshots it looks like the Bills have hit a home run with this Uniform tweak (or should i say.. back to the uniform they should never have abandoned!). I grew up with some memories of the standing Buffalo but mostly with the charging Buffalo white helmet. I hated the switch to red and always thought (hoped) it would ne temporary. I guess 25+ years later, switching back to the white helmet is a gift for us middle-aged fans.
  20. Cool pics. I'm always fascinated by old pictures, especially the one's taken during the civil war. Neat to see these in color....when old buildings are actually new. People back then don't look much different of course, but they do look a bit older than they are. Life was rough for many.
  21. Good for the Vikes. The Bills, Erie county and New York State really need to devise a plan here and go all out. A retractable roof stadium would be an incredible asset for this area. Just look at Indianapolis as an example. They are now in the discussion for Super Bowls, Big 10 Championship game, NCAA Final 4's, huge conventions, concerts and a hundred other events in addition to Colts football. To me it's short-sighted to just build a Dome somewhere on the cheap. Now that technology is there for retractable roof stadiums, no Dome-only should ever be built. Meanwhile we have this dinosaur of a stadium sitting out in the middle of nowhere and they keep sinking money into it like an old car. I love ya Ralph, but let's get some billionaire in here and do this thing right and make the Bills, The city of Buffalo and WNY relevant again.
  22. I don't really know the specific answer. All the colleges and Universities in SUNY are state supported. They probably all want an equal piece of the pie so no one school has emerged. The four university centers are UB, Albany, Stony Brook and Binghamton and they are the unofficial "flagships". UB and Stony Brook are members of the very prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU). Univ. of Nebraska was just booted out of the AAU and Syracuse U. is supposedly not far behind (leaving voluntarily so as not to get the boot). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_of_American_Universities
  23. In Tim Graham's ESPN blog there is a pic attached. Marcus Easley looks like a friggin' Tight End or Linebacker. If he can play at this level I really like our WR's. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/28950/dont-go-changing-bills-show-faith-in-o
  24. Great news. This guy just loves to spend on hockey. I wish Pegula went a step further and started a Division 1 hockey program at UB. He did it at Penn State so what's another few million?!?
