  1. With all due respect to the poster who started this thread but is there any groundswell to realign divisions? I haven't heard anything. What's the point of making this thread if its just a wish thing? We have discussed this to death when Seattle was relocated to the NFC.
  2. Ugh, just hoping the Steelers roll them next week.
  3. Looks like Flacco and Matty ice are not playing BIG today. Got a little ways to go to be compared to Ben, Brady, Peyton, etc.
  4. Win or lose, Aaron Rodgers is a fantastic Qb. I love his game. The arm and accuracy are very strong.
  5. I would be thrilled to get both those guys. I don't think it's ever gonna happen though.
  6. I keep thinkin', if the Bills are a stock now is the time to buy. Buy low! They are on the upswing and Merriman is definitely gonna help, not only the defense but making this a more attractive place for free agents to investigate.
  7. I was invited on the field to watch pregame warmups a couple years ago. Hardy was suited up. Man he was an imposing looking specimen out there. Just a giant tall, sleek looking guy. I was in awe of his size. I gotta believe if he had any motivation or determination...he could've been something.
  8. I still like Mallett and think he can step right in for some team and be pretty good. I have no idea how high his "ceiling" is though.
  9. I DVR'd the Sat games and watched some live, some delayed. I usually fast forward through them for the good plays. Sunday i kept the games on TV live the whole day and watched as i could. When you have little kids,,,you do the best you can.
  10. Nice job. Once again the offseason is going to be so much more exciting and interesting than the actual season.
  11. You can't make a living running the ball as a QB in the NFL. I think its great to have mobility to convert a 3rd and 3 or whatever or extend plays but the long scampers (ala Vick and Vince Young) are short lived. The body cannot take that abuse too much. Even those guys have tried to be QB's now and not scramblers that play QB. I concentrated on Newton's throwing ability tonight. He has a great arm but I just don't know how his total game (smarts included) will translate to the NFL. I still think Mallett will be the best QB from this draft... He shows more Quarterbacking skills imo.
  12. I think he read the James Starks thread on this board because several of us made the same point.
  13. I hate putting all my stock in a guy into one game...but I'd like to see Cam throw well and make good decisions tonight. If he does, i have no problem with the Bills selecting him at #3. Let's face it, Chan said it himself...Fitz is the guy now but if you have a chance to set yourself up for the next 10 years..and you are in a position to do it, you do it. It will be fun to watch tonight.
  14. Well, that's why i get Directv. To avoid all that nonsense. Although last year i was cursing their name up and down when Versus was blacked out due to a contract dispute. I guess you really can't avoid the nonsense!
  15. I'm pretty sure it's only college Seniors who are deemed as draft prospects. Cool for Bills fans that the Senior Bowl practices will be televised by NFL Network throughout the week. That means we get to see some of Chan and his crew mic'd up
  16. That elusive "franchise QB" is still the hardest position to fill. Both Gabbert and Mallett will be top 12 picks, maybe even top 8. The Bills won't sniff those guys unless they use #3 to grab one of the big QB's.
  17. Hmmm, i thought the Saints signed Bell a couple weeks ago? They were down a couple RBs.
  18. If the Bills front office get slammed (and rightfully so) for poor draft picks...do they get equal amounts of praise for great UDFA signings? I think they should.
  19. Hopefully people here can get past the Lynch thing. Here's a newsflash, up until that ONE sick run on Saturday, people in Seattle were disappointed with Lynch. His usual statline was 18 carries for 58 yards or whatever. Just a few weeks earlier he had two brutal fumbles at New Orleans that cost Seattle any chance to win. He had one great run last weekend but overall, I'd much rather have the draft pick we got because Lynch is not going to be a special player for them over the long haul.
  20. They put up his stats this year vs. Cam Newton's. They were remarkably similar. I like Kaepernick but agree his delivery will be somewhat of a detriment in the pros.
  21. To me, the best RBs in the pros have that downhill running style. You see it from Starks, Freddie, Jamaal Charles, etc.. These guys get the ball and don't try to juke your socks off. They hit the seam hard, make one cut at most and always seem to fall forward for that extra yard. As for Spiller, he claims to have learned this lesson late in the season. We'll see, hopefully for us Bills fans he has.
  22. Ya. i agree. I made the same point earlier in this thread. Productive RBs can be found all over the place...
  23. FYI- Starks was a 6th rounder in 2010
  24. Awesome game by Starks. Great to see UB represented! He and Namaan looking good from that class. Now I'm gonna throw out an opinion. I like Spiller's potential but this is what bothers me about picking a RB at #9. You see a kid like Starks...a 6th rounder who is literally under your nose at UB and you pass. Then you see a guy like Legarrett Blount for TB who is an UDFA and these are just two example of many RB's who you can get for practically nothing. Starks is an athletic downhill runner, not alot of wasted movement. He kinda reminds me of a faster Freddie Jackson...gets the ball, makes one cut at most and runs north-south.. I like it!
