  1. I always liked the white helmet. I also hope they put BILLS or the logo somewhere on the new Jersey. It would make it more identifiable since I don't live in WNY.
  2. Based on this uniform change...i am now definitely renewing my season tix. So there, the announcement had a direct impact on season ticket sales.
  3. This is great news. Now i hope they can finally get back to wearing dark jersey's and white pants at home again. It looks so much more professional than blue/blue. For some reason the Bills refuse to put any logo or identifier on their jersey's. I hope they add something to the jersey with this uniform tweak. Keep an eye out on this thread from this logo site message board. If any picture is leaked, these guys are always first to pounce on it and post it. http://boards.sportslogos.net/index.php?showtopic=78507&st=0
  4. Except for when all the injured players were shown walking to the Locker room. Then it looked like ESPNzone with all the friggin' big screen TV's back there... pretty cool.
  5. 2 years in a row for the NFC. AFC no longer dominant.
  6. I started a similar thread a few weeks ago. I was not ripping on the Spiller pick but was pointing to another example of how late round and FA RB's can be very productive. As for Starks' 3.2ypc after the Philly game, it's not surprising. Very few teams ran the ball against Atlanta and Chicago and several of those carries were late game or short yardage obvious running situations. I don't expect him to tear up the Steelers either. You're not usually going to have a killer YPC average against solid defensive teams like those three. I don't think Spiller's average would be any better. I do agree with the comparison to Freddie Jackson, except Starks has more breakway speed.
  7. I'm not giddy for Kaepernick but i do think he has some game. I recall last summer hearing some ESPN analysts talking about him being the best QB in this years class and no one ever pays attention to him out in Nevada. Well, i guess now people are paying attention. Either Gailey is smoke-screening or he really wants a QB with good mobility. I'm sure Kap, Newton and Gabbert are all on the table. The Bills would be foolish not to take a QB in the 1st or 2nd round imo. As for Ponder, he looked better than i thought he would in the game. Standing on the sidelines he looked exactly like the Joe Pendleton character (played by Warren Beatty in the 1970's movie "Heaven Can Wait"). Yeah- i probably dated myself with that reference!
  8. BTW- if the Super Bowl was created one year sooner, i think it would have been Cleveland vs. Buffalo in Super Bowl I ? That would have been really cool.
  9. We will never see again the days when a college football team plays an organized game against an NFL team. There are just too many reasons to list. It is cool to look back and read about another era, when the college all-stars played the NFL Champion. I imagine nowadays the scores would be a little more lopsided. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_College_All-Star_Game
  10. I usually kinda' like the Pro Bowl for what it is...just a bunch of great NFL players having some fun. Last night was the worst ever though. Watching Kyle Williams just stand there was embarassing for him and the league (yes, i know he was not the only one not trying). EVen the NHL All-Star game was much more entertaining to me,,,,even though that does not resemble a regular NHL game. The one thing the NFL did good imo was move the Pro Bowl to the off week b/f the Super Bowl. To me the last play of the Super Bowl should end the entire NFL season. I think they do need to do away with the Pro Bowl but i can see them stealing the NHL idea and doing some sort of fantasy draft to drum up interest and competitiveness.
  11. I kinda' like the Starks (UB angle) so I'm rooting for the Pack. Hopefully he doesn't fumble but you know the Steelers will be ripping at the ball.
  12. I still contend that the Bills have gotten more mileage (publicity) out of losing 4 SB's than most teams get for winning. I mean you hardly ever hear about the Bucs or Ravens winning and every year there are countless references to those Buffalo Bills from the early 90's (most good some negative). The thing that really sucks about the SB years is that the Bills always dominated the NFC...except for the Big game. That makes me feel like we were outcoached when it really counted which is a slight against Levy and his staff..
  13. Who was the Asian coach on the Bills staff helping DeHaven with special teams?
  14. No surprise there. Bills crews always dominates the Bengals no matter who is coaching. I will take Chan Gailey's offensive mind over anything Marvin Lewis can throw out there. Chan and his staff have coached up his QBs so far.
  15. Yeah- i didn't know much about Joe D'Allessandris (Bills O-line coach) but he was mic'd up for practice and really did a terrific job teaching the big guys. It's cool when you see these big shots in Alabama and Florida St helmets and then an NFL coach just picks them apart with ease and you realize they are just kids really.
  16. BTW- the South practice is televised live today on NFL Network....5:00pm i think? They are televised all week.
  17. I like that GB squashes the myth that a finesse type offense (and a California QB) cannot function in a cold weather city and be Championship caliber. Let's face it, GB passes to set up the occasional run. They are a passing team first and foremost. Starks has been a nice addition and can grind out the occasional first down but they are not yet in Pittsburgh's league running the ball. Should be a fun Super Bowl though.
  18. I always believed the three most important factors in winning a football game and also having a winning formula for the season are: 1) Turnover ratio (both offense and defense) 2) 3rd down conversion % (offense) 3) pressure on the opposing QB without having to blitz (defense) So having said that...both the O and D are equally important imo. You need an above average O just to get to the final 4 in the NFL. Having an above average to very good D will push you over the hump to win the SB.
  19. It's great to have him onboard now so he can help coach and evaluate the young guys at the Senior Bowl practices next week.
  20. Here we go baby!! Wanny signs on, Merriman signs on and opens up the lines of communication with other potential FA's, #3 overall pick soon to be on board....slowly the Bills are creeping back into relevance!
  21. You were just dying to use that line today,... lol
  22. Yup- it just reinforces my opinion of Chan that he knows what it takes to win from the QB position and the whole offense in general. He may not have the tools at his disposal in Buffalo (yet) but the man KNOWS exactly what it takes....and I feel good about having him as head coach.
  23. He has Fairley #1 and Patrick Peterson #2. FWIW- He has Gabbert going to Arizona #5, AJ Green to Cleveland #6, Von Miller to Tenn #8, Cam Newton to Washington #10, Ryan Mallett to Seattle #25
  24. Good. Hope he gets some players here who have been to the playoffs. Even if they are a bit past their prime, getting players to Buffalo that have experienced some WINNING will be a good thing. Too many Bills players have never experienced anything remotely close to playoffs and have no idea what it takes to get there.
  25. Rooting for GB all the way but in this game I'll root for Pittsburgh. Can't stand the Jets for obvious reasons. Plus the Steelers fans i know are generally nicer people and more humble. The Jets fans i know like to rib me and tell me I root for teams from the "City of Losers". Go Steelers.
