I agree the Bills will rebound and show themselves as a very solid team. I expect a W but we'll see. They really gotta clean up the penalties and turnovers after last Thursday's debacle. The Saints are decent but not the juggernaut that 6-2 would suggest. In their last 3 they have handled Brett Hundley, Mitch Trubisky and a messed up Winston/Fitz combo. I'm not dissing them but I'm actually surprised the Saints are favored in Orchard Park. We shall see.

How much impact will Benjamin have Sunday?
zow2 replied to JM2009's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, FWIW, Tyrod has mentioned the need to throw it up and let KB make a play on contested balls about 5 times during various interviews yesterday. Maybe he's trying to talk himself into doing it! But Tyrod is very aware of the need to do this. I expect him to throw a few passes like this to KB but i also expect it to be near the sidelines or back of the endzone where a pass too high won't result in an INT. Tyrod will not stand for anymore INTs on his resume. -
Didn't read the article yet. I will say this. Beane is very smart in this business we call the NFL. His moves have left some scratching their heads but i trust this guy 100%. I think we are heading into a very good era in Bills football.

How much impact will Benjamin have Sunday?

The blueprint has always been there. But other teams don't have the D-Line of the Jets coupled with the lack of energy by the Bills on a Thurs night. The Bills will show up at home and be a different team than what we saw. Just hope it's enough. I think KB will catch 4-5 passes at most for modest yardage, it would be great if one of those was a jump ball TD catch. -
Bills/Saints arguably the best game on paper in a lackluster week of NFL.

No excuses, they beat our butts.. It was noticeable, however, that Buffalo had zero intensity on D or O. They tried to create fake intensity and it showed by a couple late hits... I thought NY was intense from the start. They really roughed up Tyrod and it was borderline dirty, but they played it right to the border. I saw a couple times a defender would rake Tyrod over the head with an extra knee shot or elbow to the facemask....stuff that was unnecessary but the refs didn't think it was late enough to call penalties i guess. The Jets really roughed us up badly on both sides. I expect the Bills to be way more intense than NO on Sunday. Hopefully they channel that energy into a W and not losses like they did in the Rex era.

Even though the saints are NFC, a loss would be a killer to any playoff hopes. Buffalo only has 3 losses left to play with. Can't drop one at home vs NO. Yes, the Saints are good but they are DUE to lose and McD has been pretty solid so far in scheming against his old NFC South rivals. I expect the Bills to come out rejuvenated on defense and looking to dictate on offense. I think that game vs the Jets was embarrassing to every player and coach. BLo was pushed around on both sides. No way they allow NO to come in here and roll out with a W. If they do then the season is officially over and we can just play spoiler.

With half a season down, how goes the second half?
zow2 replied to MTBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This Bills team is showing their usual tendency to wilt and get out-schemed as the season goes on. Since there are 8 games left, this is when McD and his staff have to separate themselves from the past Bills failures and rise up. It's quite obvious the Bills have 3 more losses to play with. 10-6 is the record they need to achieve. I'm going to assume they split with Miami and New England. That means they have one loss to give between NO, SD, KC and Indy. Honestly it's gonna be very tough. They MUST beat the Saints on Sunday at home and of course Indy and split those other two road games. In the end, if the Bills miss the playoffs I think the Cincinnati game is what kills them. Being +3 in turnovers while the game was in the balance and not being able to cash in and put them away was atrocious. That game was a nightmare loss for a team desperate to break the drought. -
Bills CAN get back on track vs New Orleans
zow2 replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All the team goals are still in front of them. No reason they cant beat NO and have a good second half. Just spare me the we are getting back to work we work hard, talk from the players and coaches, etc... ALL NFL teams work hard. They all try to win. I dont care about team talk, just show it on the field and win. -
Nah, the Jets are clearly the better team on this night. You could see the Bills had no intensity from the first drive. Just dominated in the trenches on both sides. Oh well, I would have signed up for 5-3 after eight games.

I don't believe in "trap" games and definitely not in the NFL on the road. If the Jets win it's because they deserve it and play better tonight...It won't be because the Bills took them lightly. Buffalo has made a nice living on turnovers this season. If they somehow lose the turnover battle tonight there's a good chance we lose. It's about the little things. Take care of the ball! I feel like this will be like the Cincinnati game in terms of it being fairly low scoring and close. Unlike Cinci, hopefully the Bills find a way to win this one.

Patriots trade Jimmy Garoppolo to SF
zow2 replied to HumbleAndHungry's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2nd round pick is OK but they traded a bonified NFL QB with absolutely nothing behind Brady. I mean if Tommy Boy games a shot to the knees or messes up his arm or shoulder they are finished. Seems like a good trade if your a Bills fan. Id rather they have a second rounder than a sure fire backup -
Maybe some folks would rather have a #1 pick like Jameis Winston. Good QB but a turnover machine this year. Hes absolutely killing the Bucs. Tyrod is just keeping it steady.
-
Its funny, Dungy and the people on NBC highlights love Tyrod while some people here just have to nitpick him to death. He's a solid QB and his game is to limit mistakes. That's the key in the NFL if I really need to spell it out. Don't turn the ball over and hope you can create a few in your favor. That's the recipe.

A really big swath of no population land-mass will see this game......and then Cali and NYS will make up the majority of eyes...

[closed]Another Taylor Thread? Yes another
zow2 replied to Foreigner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So may of these big name QB's throw out stinkers all the time.. i.e. Cam, Eli, Philip, Big Ben, Dalton, Mariota, Flacco, Palmer, Cousins, Winston and even Russell Wilson. All i know is when Tyrod has a poor game or his receivers stink, he gets lambasted here as NOT the answer. Meanwhile when i look up his rankings he's usually in the top 5 or 6 of AFC QB rating. If your TT, Just don't turn the ball over. I think that makes up for any perceived lack of yardage numbers. Protect the ball, make a few throws, use his legs a bit...and he's a solid QB. Believe me, Denver or Baltimore would love to have a QB like Tyrod right about now. -
Drought will end: Taylor is here to stay.......for now

Tyrod looked like Steve Young this weekend when compared to some of the awful QB play around the league this past Sunday.. We are fortunate to have him. -
I'm Surprised by Zay Jones' Slow Start

It's a tie between Zay Jones and Terrell Pryor as to who is more nervous these days when they see the ball thrown their direction. -

Man, those Bills wins over Atlanta and Denver are looking more pedestrian every week. At the time we thought they were sure fire playoff teams -
4 penalties for 35 yards. Just awesome to see them cleaning up that mess

Week 7...Expecations should return to pre-season
zow2 replied to Jobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I will say this regarding the Tampa game. This is where the Bills have teased us in the past. Making us think they are decent. This game they *should* win, be 4-2 and in the thick of the race for another week. But so often during the drought they will lose a home game like this for inexplicable reasons. I'm definitely worried because teams coming off the bye week or 10 day layoffs look unprepared and (not intense) out of the gate. The Bucs are coming off a very tough loss against a team they should have beaten. They are going to be intense from the opening snap and not looking to lose a 3rd straight game. We'll see if McDermott can get this across to his team. The Bills loss to Cincy is way in the rear-view mirror to many of these players. This game will tell me a lot about the 2017 Bills. If they lose I expect them to be around a 7-9 club. -
Yep, Atlanta and Denver wins are completely discredited now. But the Jets win looks a little better than it did.

FitzMagic again next week? Winston hurt in TB game...
zow2 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im more worried about the bye week. Teams coming off bye or 10 day layoff look horrible coming back. Just lazy and unprepared teams. McD needs to have these guys ready to pummel Jaemis or Fitz.
