  1. I think the Bills are gonna be fine if they want to draft a QB in round 1. Let's assume they pass Carolina and Detroit to pick 3rd. Detroit has their QB in Stafford and I think Clausen showed enough improvement yesterday that the Panthers are not going to pick a QB at #1 overall. They're going to want an immediate difference maker not another "maybe" at QB for 2 years down the road. The only hangup is if another team wants to trade up into that spot. That's always a risk.
  2. In reading a Detroit quote, it sounds like Detroit designed that play to do exactly what it did, isolate CJ on a LB. They were saying it was a mastermind type of play designed by their O-coordinator. So it sounds to me like the BIlls D was severely outcoached on that one play. Seems like the Bills should have recognized where CJ was on the field but its the NFL ....and sometimes their play is better than what the defense is calling.
  3. Let him walk? are you high? Yes- they will take a QB in the draft but they're not going to let Fitz walk. Have you heard Chan gush about how Fitz checked into the right play several times yesterday and this year? You can't just plop someone in that position with those kind of smarts and instincts. I'm happy the guy is our QB for now and hope they keep him for a long time...if nothing else to mentor the new QB someday.
  4. I had no problem with the Bills getting conservative. They were wide open vs. Balt, KC, Chicago with the game on the line and it backfired. Glad they got this win and moved on. Now they can chuck it 50 times a game again...i don't care. I'll say one thing...if they can't get that Franchise QB...i feel pretty good with Fitz if they can build up the trenches and get more talent at other positions. I think Fitz has enough experience and smarts now to be better than any rookie coming in, at least for next season.
  5. I happened to be sitting next to another Bills fans in Baltimore after he kicked that game tying kick. The guy elbows me and says "Lindell is the BEST kicker in the NFL and he never gets the credit he deserves"...he was so adamant about it. I'm like dude, he's ok but you forget how many big kicks he's missed over the last several years. He seems to miss an inordinate number of 4th Qtr kicks (over his Bills career) that could win the game or put it out of reach. He's money in the 1st and 2nd Qtr though. ANother Miss to win the game in KC too. And you say, it was over 50 yards but we've seen other teams' kickers bury the BIlls in our stadium with over 50 yarders. Bottom line...I like Lindell,,he's good, but he's certainly not money in the bank with the game on the line.
  6. I see CJ getting more involved today too. Unfortunately I envision Detroit moving up and down the field pretty easily too. Sean Hill is underrated at QB. Not much dropoff from Stafford if any. Bills going to need at least 30 to win. Detroit as desperate for a road win as we are for any win. I kinda' see Detroit winning this one, argh!
  7. I wonder how Buffalo getting the #1, 2 or 3 pick will affect his decision-making? I mean, even i can admit, my hometown team is the least desireable NFL destination for a top draft choice right now. Yes- its the NFL, but if you look at it from someone's perspective who isn't from here and never lived here, it's not attractive. Dallas, Carolina, Denver, San Francisco....they are all nicer locations in the mind of a #1 overall QB.
  8. Wow, highest priced cheerleader in the league? He does look good in that NFL issued Bills gear on the sidelines though.
  9. Bills gonna have to be significantly better than they were against the Bears to Win. Also, they have to win the turnover battle for once. Detroit is better in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
  10. You can thank the Buffalo Bills Mr. Henne. Don't think that Miami's coaching staff did not take note of 500+ yds (high 300's passing) that the Bills laid on Baltimore in their previous home game. Miami's offense by comparison was completely ineffective. The Ravens have a very mild pass rush this year and decent QB's should be able to pick them apart. Of course they are very opportunistic in the secondary which makes up for it somewhat.
  11. Sean Hill has some nice passing numbers this year. The Bills being 0-8 and favored in this game is absurd. The Lions are better in the trenches on both sides of the ball and have as much, probably more talent at the skill positions. I'd say its an upset if the Bills win this. I hate to say it.
  12. Schopp kind of apologized on the air earlier. Said he didn't realize what Stevie was talking about at first and thinks he's a good guy and a good story this year. So i guess this Twitter fight is pretty much over.
  13. Chad Simpson got injured in DC before he's had a chance to get a carry.
  14. Not ONE person on this board would have been happy if they hired Fewell as HC. In hindsight he looks good b/c the Giants have a very good D-line and talent on D. We all knew we needed an offensive coach and Gailey has gotten the O to look good at times. That being said, the team needs to move on from Edwards at the end of the season. NObody else in the NFL would have hired that guy as D-coordinator.
  15. Hate to say it but the Lions D is pretty active up front. I think the Bills have another home letdown and Detroit rolls 29-16.
  16. All i know is that the Ravens, Chiefs and Bears secondaries all stepped up and helped win them the game these last 3 weeks. How about ours making a play? They had 28 INTs last year. What the hell happened?
  17. Actually, for once I thought the Offense and Defense played at about the same level yesterday. Both played just well enough to win, imo. but amazingly, the Bills (bad) luck continued and they were torpedoed by the rarest of things. A blocked extra point....first one in Lindell's career. That game woulda' been 21-21 late if not for that feakish event. So i guess this week it was the special teams that failed.
  18. So how about that Joique Bell? is he still hanging around on the Philly practice squad? I think Ganther played some for the Redskins last year. He did nothing special as i recall.
  19. I've said it many times before...Fitz ALWAYS know where to throw the ball...he just can't always get it there. He is so head and shoulders above the last few QBs we've had that i gotta cut him some slack. If the Bills had a running game or if they had a decent defense, they would have a few wins. I don't know Fitz's 3rd and 4th down conversion % but that has improved dramatically since he's been the starter.
  20. By the Way, did anyone notice the play just prior to Fred's fumble? I DVR'd the game and i truly believe we got the first down. I can't remember if it was Fred or Roscoe who stretched for it? ANyway, when the linesman walked to place the ball he went on a backwards angle, thus leaving it barely short...which turned into a 4th down and fumble. Argh! so many weird things...to help derail the Bills every single week.
  21. The only time i'm interested in seeing Brohm is if Fitz gets injured and can't play. That's it. The only reason this team has been competitive lately is Fitz making some great plays. HAs he made the big play in the final minute to win? nope. But i really don't believe this team is even close without him. You want to see Stevie, Roscoe and Lee's production slide into oblivion, just put Brohm in the game.
  22. I'm sure McCoy is doing a decent job for a Rook, but Cleveland's defense is Legit folks. You'll see when they come to RWS in a few weeks. Teams are having trouble moving the ball on them and when they do, the Browns are stripping it and scoring on D.
  23. It would be difficult to keep anyone on the coaching staff if they finish 0-16, but truth is, they aren't getting blown out with Fitz and a couple players here or there could flip this thing. I feel like Chan calls a decent game on O, they just need more talent. The D, well they may need to clean house on that side.
  24. I kept reading last week on here and from media people that we are destined to be 2-14 or 3-13. Well folks, the Bears game was probably the easiest game left on the schedule. Detroit imo, is better tha Chicago, definitely have better playmakers on O and with Stafford very dangerous. Suh is a stud and their D-line is better than our O-line. Cleveland wiped out New Eng and N. Orleans this year. Their D is legit. Detroit and CLeve are probably losses. Jets, Miami, Pats, Steelers and even Vikings in their house would all be big upsets. I guess Cinci might be the best shot for a W since we have owned them the lat 8 or 9 meetings.
  25. I totally agree. I'm on the side that the Bills aren't even in any of these games without Fitz. He stood in there and made some great throws...but of course, he didn't gget it done in crunch time again. That's whats frustrating. Just one more play out of the O, D or special teams and we could win one of these. Last week vs. KC he hit on a bunch of 3rd down conversions to keep our D off the field.
