I’ve mentally prepared myself for Rosen to hit on 60% completions and 250+ yds, and a couple TDs. Im rooting for Josh Allen of course but was hoping to hear the word Rosen when they announced that pick on draft night. We shall see. I’m giving them both two full seasons of playing before really passing judgement

Im starting Benjamin this week in fantasy. You should too.

Hmmm. If i start KB i'd need to sit either Brandin Cooks OR Tyler Boyd, and both those guys are projected to get double the output of KB. Tough decision but I may have to leave Benjamin on the bench for one more week until i see if DereK Anderson can still play football?!? -
By all accounts, Tyrod was leading the offense throughout the spring/summer. He was organizing get togethers for extra training work, dinners and doing all the right things to be a leader. Then this Mayfield dude strolls in against the Jets with all his swag and suddenly Tyrod is basically shoved in the corner. And the coach says, yep I probably shoulda started Baker from game #1. So yeah I can see why he’s frustrated. It’s the NFL though, it happens, but I’m sure it’s frustrating as hell for him.

Bills in White on White vs. the Colts

Good, not much success in the white over blue pants combo. They did beat Minny in the white/white. -
Man, I'm still trying to shake off the fact that this is the same Derek Anderson who was Cleveland's QB (in 2009?) when they beat the Bills 6-3. That game was coined as possibly the worst NFL game ever played. Anderson completed 2 passes for 23 yards. I remember watching it. Every single play. Hoping to see a decent version of DA going forward.

He can't stand in front of the Lockerroom and tell the guys Nate is starting. The players would think he's a complete buffoon. He'd get zero respect for that decision. At least he is showing the players that he will try something different to spark the offense. That being said I think Anderson is gonna be at best mediocre, and at worse could be flat out bad. I do not expect him to be dropping dimes all over the field. Not gonna happen.

Peterman, just one hit away, Hoping DA can just get the passing game up to reasonable levels... like above 120 yards.

Strange how this worked out. I said after the Tennessee game there is very little chance McBeane wants to start Allen in high profile games vs NE and Chicago. He’s absolutely not ready for Belicheck and that D or keeping up the scoring w Brady. Or Chicago’s D-line. So here we are, the coach gets bailed out somewhat by an unfortunate injury. They can throw Anderson or Peterman out there and whatever happens, it won’t look bad for the kid or the coach that had a duty to play him.
-
McBeane believed in preseason results. They shoulda had more sense than that. In hindsight it is lunacy to keep Peterman as #1 when you have no clue if he can play under real game pressure (he failed miserably in his one road start, did ok in half a snow game). And they go with Allen at#2 when he also had no experience in real game action. When defenses actually game plan.

Josh Allen looks on par with this year’s other rookie QBs
zow2 replied to Troll Toll's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm done with comparing/hoping our guy is another Jared Goff. Josh Allen is completely different and a big project. Again, how many of these project QBs have ever made it big? A quick look at Goff's stats show his final year at Cal he had a 64.5% completion% and 43 TD passes. That was against Pac-12 talent not Mountain West or whatever,, So clearly Goff was a proven high % passer in college and probably just needed the NFL game to slow down for him, plus McVay's guidance, A -

To me, Allen looks behind the other three. Granted Darnold and Mayfield have better weapons for sure, but they are making some plays downfield. Rosen looks better too, he's had a bunch of drops. Allen has the big arm but he isn't using it much. Finally we saw a nice pass to KB (which DiMarco ruined) and then another sweet pass to KB over the middle. So after he makes two good throws, he gets hit and now out a month. Go figure...he was just starting to get some confidence. dang it. -
It's too bad for Josh. He really needed these games for his development. The stark reality for the team, however, is that the offense can't be any worse with him out. That's just fact. The only worse thing wold be Peterman and/or Anderson giving up pick-6's every game. But for moving the football through the air, and total yardage on O, it will likely get better.

Shame because Peterman actually threw an awesome TD pass to Zay and managed to even find Holmes over the middle on 3rd and 15. But how do they allow him to throw that sideline out pattern yet again?!?!? DB's are just salivating when he comes into a game, waiting on that throw. His only plays should be hand off, screen pass or work the middle (or over the top). And even then he will get picked off eventually.

Some of these primetime games have been really terrific this year. Even a few Thursday nighters
