  1. As I mentioned in another thread, Jake Locker was picked #8 overall in 2011. He was a project. Really athletic, but the knock on him in college was inaccuracy. He ultimately failed and retired early.
  2. I was at the game, saw his punt return and was thinking that was one of the fastest white dudes I’ve seen. Well besides baseball’s Trea Turner. That guy is a burner too.
  3. Good to see a hot girl attends UB.
  4. I mostly agree that you stick with JA and hope the game slows down for him and he grasps NFL defenses, hot reads, accuracy, and how to manage the pocket...etc... However, if you are McBeane, you might be thinking after the AFC South gauntlet we have some big-boy games vs, New England on MNF and Chicago in back to back weeks. First off, as is today, they can't score enough to keep up with New England. And they may not be able to move the ball much at all vs a tough Bears D. They don't want to be embarrassed on MNF so if Allen is coming off more putrid passing games maybe Anderson gets some of that game.. and possibly Chicago as well.
  5. Right now Allen is a taller version of Jake Locker, which is bad, because I hated Jake Locker's game in college and in the pros. He was not all that accurate in college and I never saw that getting better in the NFL. Tennessee finally benched him after he ran too much and finally got himself injured, and ultimately ended up on inured reserve.
  6. Ok for the QB meeting room but I will not be pleased if Derek Anderson plays
  7. This. every team and coaching staff in the NFL is about winning. If it means 10-9 victories every week so be it. They need more throws to Ray Ray like they did late. Rodgers did about 7 of those passes against Buffalo. Allen needs more three step drop and bam, just release it. Maybe it’s only a 5 yd gain but take it. He’s not good yet at standing back there for 4 seconds and scanning the field. The receivers rarely get separation and he’s not going to throw into a tiny window yet. Take a predetermined shot downfield when the defense alignment looks vulnerable
  8. I’m sure the Bills players love reading how they are regarded as NFL’s least talented players. There’s some motivation right there. I bet they get pissed hearing that stuff.
  9. our man didn’t get sacked much, run backwards or throw a terrible pick (it was mainly on the WR). So all in all wasn’t a bad day, just wasnt overly productive. It would be nice, however, to see Allen throw a highlight reel pass one of these weeks. We haven’t see one in a few games
  10. Of the 4 rookie QBs, Baker looks awfully dang good on the Browns. Darnold has some receivers around him and looks solid. Rosen the jury is still out but he’s on a not so good club. Allen looks raw and missing on some easy throws, but my gosh, I have never seen an NFL team with a worse group of receivers in my life. Not one threat
  11. Sitting at the stadium watching warm ups. The Bills looked jacked today. They’re all pumped up and ready to play/hit. I feel pretty good about this one.
  12. The difference thus far between this years team and last years is they have a better goalie now. But their puck possession is weak and they give up lots of quality chances. That’s a recipe for another. Non-playoff season
  13. Could not understand the move to cut O’Leary. Why would the Bills need a reliable possession receiver anyway?? They have Logan Thomas. Ugh!
  14. Housley just hasn't earned the right to be given the benefit of the doubt. The Sabres weren't supposed to be horrible last season and he coached them to dead last place. They start out this season, home opener, with these great additions to the lineup and enthusiasm from the city and they lay an egg. I agree with the folks that say he sounds like a disappointed dad, more than a leader of men. I was reading a stat this morning that said the Sabres dating back to the end of last season have lost 5 straight overall, and lost 6 in a row on home ice, including 3 shutouts. They must win two of the next three home game on this homestand. If not, things get ugly. If they lose all 4, Botts will furious and Housley won't see the west coast trip.
  15. Hey, we're 1-0 this season without McCoy !!
  16. I agree. I told my buddy this morning if they start the season with a dud and don’t get at least 4 points on this 4 game homestand, Phil is gone. He sucks as a coach
  17. I've dabbled over the past decade in buying-reselling tix at other NFL stadiums. The lack of interest in attending NFL games is not unique to Buffalo. It's not just because of a poor product on the field. Unless it's the biggest games on the schedule, even the big name teams have tickets for Face (or below) and the demand is way way down. I stopped doing it altogether.
  18. The home team is coming off a blowout road loss. The Away team is coming in off a huge emotional win over a favored opponent. Usually in the NFL, this is automatic....take the home team + points to rebound and play a tough game. Titans 20 Bills 17
  19. So glad I didn’t renew for this season. Gave em up after 12 years. my only regret is I bought tickets for this Titans game two weeks before the season started. I shoulda waited. Some lucky reseller got slightly above face value off me which I’m sure they were happy about.
  20. The Culture stuff is real but he's just rationalizing publicly why they suck so badly. It's easy to say "we're trying to build the right culture here, growing pains, etc." blah blah, blah. Bottom line- if they miss on Josh Allen... if JA doesn't prove to be a solid NFL QB... then this whole staff and GM will be blown up. They have the 2019 offseason and next fall to get this right.
  21. Welp, that comment pretty much explains why Peterman is still #2
  22. Well, as Phil Simms has said, if Josh does not make it in Buffalo it's not on him, it's on the Bills organization and the failure to develop him properly. McVay is a genius. Kirk Cousins credits McVay for his entire career development. We have a buffoon here running the O.
  23. If we get blown out by Tennessee, which is a real possibility......this Bills situation will be like a five alarm fire.
  24. Eric Wood made a nice little point on the radio today. He said with the Bills penchant for falling behind early is killing the run game which skews the numbers to bad.. But by that same token the passing numbers should be skewed higher b/c they are often playing catch up. And Eric says passing is last in the league too so he doesn't really know what's going on but obviously it needs to be fixed.
  25. I will give Mcbeane a pass this season because 1) they are the drought-breakers, 2) we are starting a rookie QB 3) they have virtually eliminated all the offensive talent from this roster over the past year+. But after this off-season and into 2019, if there is not big improvement, i will be leading the charge with pitchforks and all to get a new and offensive minded staff in here.
