This is going to be the Browns 3rd season of a complete rebuild and they've done nothing on the field yet. Since they went 10-6 in 2007 behind that great QB Derek Anderson, they have nine straight years of 4-5 win seasons and bottoming out these past two years. Yeah it's great to have all these draft picks and selling "hope" to the fans and sports broadcasters...but they haven't done anything! Did Atlanta, Carolina, Detroit, Miami, Dallas, Denver..etc... do complete tear-downs? No, all these other teams kept kicking the can,,brought in some good players, hit on some draft picks and got better. I want to sign as many good players as we can and hey, maybe get lucky one year with fewer injuries and some great draft picks/ FA pickups.

It's a nice strategy for the Browns to tank and accumulate all these picks. We'll see. Their results will definitely be studied by other clubs. The tank is risky. The players they draft are not guaranteed to pan out. The losing strategy to get better scares away free agents...who would rather sign with clubs that are trying to win now. I just don't think you ultimately win by tanking in the NFL. Hitting on a QB is obviously the biggest thing, good coaching and a culture of winning rules. Personally, I'm a bit older now and I prefer to stack as many good players on my team as I can, and keep trying to win every year. I like Tyrod and really hope he blows people away in 2017.

Would you re-sign Justin Hunter?

Maybe i missed something but I thought he showed pretty good hands for the Bills, even though he wasn't targeted all that much. He made the most of it. -
It's probably nothing more than he and Clay are pretty good friends off the field. who knows? I don't think it's anything to read into.
-
Hence, why so many think tanking is better than actually trying to win every year.

No issues with the Pegulas. Good people, no luck whatsoever with their teams so far. I feel like they had to hire Rex and go through that painful period of time to get the right coach now. We'll see

I'm thrilled they brought Tyrod back. He can win. The Buffalo fans that wanted him let go are probably the same fans that wanted the Sabres to rid themselves of Pominville, Vanek, Miller, etc.. so they could theoretically get better. Just doesn't work. My theory,... Be as good as you can possibly be as a team. If a better player(s) are there for the taking than by all means upgrade.. but don't get worse to get better.

Wow, happiest I've been in a few weeks. I am renewing my season tix today.

All offseason. someone in the 'Skins front office has made public that Colt McCoy could do nearly as good a job as Cousins...while they look for another QB.

Yeah that's lame of Whaley if that's how it went down. But let's be fair, Dan did a great job his first couple years in Southtowns weather, without any help from Steve Christie. His downfall most likely has nothing to do with how to kick in the Buffalo climate....

Cleveland Heavily After Tyrod Taylor.

I don't know. I personally want to see Tyrod stay and work with Dennison. -

Cowherd talking about this on his show like it's a sure thing Cleveland is getting Tyrod. Thinks it's a bad move for Cleveland since they always fall for undersized QB's. -
Greg Cosell Thinks Bills Should Move On From Tyrod Taylor

It amazes me how many people in Buffalo just accept a "tank" mentality. I hate it. This town really deserves losing teams with that kind of thinking. Be Good. Be as good as the team can possibly be. No reason to waste a season or multiple seasons of peoples lives and careers by losing on purpose....not to mention the ticket buying public wasting their money. I'd keep Tyrod as my starter. There's no one BETTER to replace him yet. Draft a guy and keep developing Cardale. maybe one of them can supplant Tyrod in the future. If everyone loves Darnold so much then by all means, after he declares trade the entire next two drafts to get him. But don't lose on purpose now in the hopes things miraculously work out. They don't. Ask Pegula and the Sabres. -
Well that would be great news to me.... hope it's true.

Seems like the Bills are trying to get younger, smarter, hard working...new blood in the building. Certainly not a bad thing. -
Anyone heard from the new coach yet? or his he still holed up in 18 hours a day of film study?

NFL Combine List: Chad Kelly Not Invited
zow2 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's definitely off-field related. The guy acts like an entitled d-bag, but let's face facts. Against Alabama in 2015 he threw for 341 yds and 3 TDs. In 2016 vs 'Bama he threw for 421 yds and 3 TDs (no INTs in either game). No matter what anyone thinks of this guy, he's going to play in the NFL and has a legit chance to be very good. -
Anthony Lynn was doing radio interviews all over the place from Houston during Super Bowl week. I enjoyed listening to his stories. Good dude. Unfortunately the last thing I'll remember in his Bills era is the team looking like the keystone cops vs the jets. Our new coach is remaining awfully quiet indeed. Let's hope his structure and way of doing things is the right mix for this club.

Bills have 4th most difficult schedule next year
zow2 replied to CanadianFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eh, I'm optimistic. Like every new year I think the Patriots will weaken a bit. Especially after winning an epic Super Bowl I'm *hoping* it takes the edge off their "hunger" for another Super Bowl...They have a target on their backs as usual. We went 0-4 vs Miami and the Jets. That's unlikely again. The previous year Buffalo was 4-0. Kansas City Chiefs- solid team but got a ton of bounces and good fortune in 2016. Bills are due to beat them. Los Angeles Chargers- winnable game in a 30,000 seat soccer stadium with a ton of transplant Bills fans there. Atlanta Falcons- ATL will have a Super Bowl hangover in 2017 much like Carolina did in 2016. Loss of Shanahan is big. Carolina Panthers- Tough game. McDermott will have the guys ready against a team he knows very well. Cincinnati Bengals- Eh, another so-so team. beatable. Denver Broncos- The D will have a good game at home. This will be a low scoring win. Oakland Raiders- Bills owe them an L. We haven't beaten the Raiders in a while. It's at home. New Orleans Saints- McDermott knows the NFC South personnel very well. This is a good season to play that division. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- See New Orleans Tennessee Titans- A team much like Buffalo. Probably has Wild Card implications. Gotta win this. It's home so that's a plus -
Bills met this week about Taylor; it may be up to McDermott

It's funny to me that people want to keep losing so they can maybe get better down the road. But they've been losing for years...so have the Sabres for that matter/ and not getting appreciably better. That road has ended for me. I want to win now. I'm guessing so does Pegs and McDermott. If TT is their best chance at several wins then keep him for goodness sake and get more players to surround him..especially another solid WR and TE. Get over the hump and make the playoffs.. Then we can talk about winning the Championship. They need to make the playoffs first.
