  1. Assuming that some of the wood is in good shape; perhaps the joists and any 2x4s or 2x6s that are still viable, Buffalo ReUse will come and pick them up. I took down a large swing set assembly last year as well as a large section of deck and they came and picked up all of the wood as long as it is not rotted.
  2. Thanks for the feedback. I did a bit of searching and see folks complaining about really poor video quality with Chromecast. Are any of you using it finding that?
  3. I'm not a tech noob or anything, but this is an area that I just don't have a good handle on. I have an iPhone and an iPad. There are time I would like to be able to "cast" (see, I know the lingo) from my phone or tablet to my TV. Not Netflix or Prime Video, I have apps for those in the TV and Blu-ray player, I mean a Pay per view concert I may buy or even watching an episode of Nova on the PBS Video app, maybe even a YouTube video. I know I can use Apple TV, but is that really my most cost effective option? Do devices like a Chromecast or Fire Stick allow me to just cast what's on my device to my TV? In advance, I thank you all for your thoughtful responses. :-)
  4. This seems pretty reasonable. West Herr bought Schmitt's Audi and VM on Genesee (about 1.5 miles away). The dealership is tiny and in a really out of the way spot. Seeing them move to a more "prime" location makes a lot of sense. The Audi brand is really under-served in WNY.
  5. It does not. I like listening sometime on Tunein because it allows me to pause and buffer live radio, but most of my listening is via OnDemand and that was not part of TuneIn. The Radio.com app is good in that it's easy to use, has all the recorded content and stories, but I would have liked live radio pause. On another note, why the hell does WGR not have an FM Simulcast. I can't imagine anyone actually listens in their home on an AM radio.
  6. I am asking this in all seriousness, not as a bash. How old are you? If you're fandom really took root during these dark days it's easy to see critical columns as canned. I agree the message has gotten stale, but so has the losing and there's only so many ways to say that. Again, if you're old enough to remember (and have read the paper) during the winning years I think you may agree, if you're younger, I feel bad because as fans you (and your contemporaries) have been dealt a ****ty hand.
  7. Wow, Seems Sullivan was pushed out based on his announcement. Took the buyout AFTER they took away his column. What was he expected to do if he had no column. Say what you want about him being a crank, but the teams around here have sucked for a long time and he was the voice that was willing to remind us after a two game winning streak by either team that there was still a lot of work to be done. I think this is a very sad day all around for Buffalo sports. I enjoy the paper because I could read more than just a game report. I enjoyed reading the OPINION of the people that covered the team day-to-day. What will we have now? Just game reviews and feature articles?
  8. I $hit you not, out my office window I just watched a groundhog climb about 3 or 4 feet up into a tree. They're up to something I tell ya.
  9. I look forward to driving around listening to Yacht Rock each summer on Sirius XM, but this year it seems to be made up of about 25 songs that play on a loop. I hoped the playlist would change after a week or so, but no such luck. sad
  10. Terrence McKelvey is a financial advisor for many NFL Players and does talks for many teams. He just posted this on Twitter and then deleted it a few minutes later... Guess Who's Staying with Buffalo!! @tyrodTaylor It had a picture of him with an arm around Tyrod. I have a screen cap, but can't figure out how to post the picture.
  11. I made the mistake of moving my seats a couple of years ago from the upper deck to the lower bowl. After 2 games, my wife who is 5'3" refused to go to another game because with everyone standing she could not see regardless if she stood as well. Again, she had no issue with standing on defense or in reaction to a big play, it was standing throughout the entire game for no apparent reason. We gave up our seasons this year because of it. She refused to go due to the standing and me finding someone to go to games (due to the standing and general fan behavior) was just too difficult. I have to believe my wife and I are the kind of customer the team wants to draw, but they certainly don't make it easy. My season ticket rep asked me why we were dropping and when I told her about the standing she rather frustratedly told me its one of the biggest complaint they hear.
  12. He is the complete opposite of me in that he is as clean cut as can be. I call him a nerd, he says he's an intellectual badass. He'll own us all someday.
  13. He looked into this and the minimum to make the buy was too high. He has about $2000 to start with. We'll look into it more specifically when he settles on a specific fund.
  14. Thanks, he plans to invest 90% in an index fund and 10% in a bond fund. I will look into (or have him look into) each of the three above. Cost for trades and selection of funds seem to be the big factors.
