Of course. I've been harping on it the past several weeks. You do not ditch Tyrod unless there is a better starter in the house. And there isn't anyone close yet.

EJ is tough to watch. Makes Tyrod Taylor look like Steve Young in his prime.

The Jets just got slaughtered in back to back weeks by Fins and Pats, ugh. It's hard to take even tho it's a meaningless game.

EJ is what he is. We know he's not the starter, he's not looking like a backup either. The offense looks so slow. You can't judge Lynn with this O.

This pisses me off. Unless they have someone who can perform better than Tyrod, I don't see the point of moving on. You can keep him, work on making him even better while also developing/drafting other QB's.

Per the article,,, "The NFL record for fewest turnovers in a season is 10, set by Belichick’s Patriots in 2010 and matched by the 49ers in 2011." So if I told you before the season, the 2016 Buffalo Bills would lead the NFL in rushing AND have the fewest offensive turnovers I'd say there would be a 75% chance or greater of making the playoffs. This team is unbelievable. Now of course EJ could go out there and throw two INT's and get strip sacked a couple times so i'm not holding my breath for a record. This team is crap. One step forward two steps back. Minn and Columbus are proving you don't need generational talent to win. You don't have to tank. Make some wise trades, get some clutch goal-tending, score a few goals, win some OT and shootouts. This team feels much further away from the playoffs than even the Bills.

It's hard for the local media to acknowledge it but somehow this pathetic, embarrassing organization leads the entire NFL in rushing this season,,,and that includes the glamour darlings- Dallas Cowboys. I gotta think Whaley (front office), Lynn and maybe a small part of Rex should get credit for that.

Maybe Fred can help coach the rushing attack to be #1 or something?!? uh, well i guess its going to be tough to improve that.

The Bills are playing the TT situation as a business move, obviously. It's well within Tyrod's right to play his moves in the best interest of Tyrod. It will appear on the surface that there is friction. In the end, (especially if Lynn is hired as HC)...I'd expect all parties to make nice with each other and TT will remain as the starter. This won't rule out drafting a QB as well as seeing if Cardale can push TT in preseason. Like others have said EJ is auditioning for his future team this weekend. The team was close to making the playoffs with some defensive stops in crunch time. I don't think they need to blow up the offense unless there is someone appreciably better to replace TT (which i don't see in the short term).

Yep, I said the same thing on another thread. Whaley didn't need to hold Lynn's hand through that press conference. Lynn- "I'm here to coach the jets game and I'm excited for the opportunity. EJ is the starter- team business decision, we will decide on the backup later in the week.. Questions about Rex... and the future after Jets game can be directed to team management".. If Anthony Lynn stumbles and bumbles saying the starter is Cordell James or whatever...that's on him!

For the most part I agree with you. Whaley definitely leans towards being an introvert. He's not in his comfort zone speaking off the cuff. So he probably wants to prepare for Monday questions when he will be able to provide more concrete answers on stuff (or at least have prepared answers). As for Terry, he's a terrible public speaker. He's much better off giving his statements in writing. I also don't get the feeling Terry wants Kim to go out there talking about coaches, quarterbacks, etc... She's great at dealing with internal business issues and making nice with the fanbase.

Again, what's the normal protocol for an interim-coach press conference. Did the Rams and Jaguars have their team management and Execs sitting at a front table fielding questions about the state of the franchise? Maybe,...I'm guessing no. I don't even know the name off hand of the Rams interim coach. I don't think any management wants to give the illusion that the interim coach is "The Man" going forward. The Pegula's issued a public statement. I would expect the "State of the franchise" talk to be held after the regular season ends. It's probably less pressure for Anthony Lynn to field questions about his week without all the Execs circling around him. I would feel that way. If he's not quick enough to think on his feet for a "witty" answer to satisfy the media, then he should just say..."I'm here to comment about the Jets game, EJ is the starter, it was a team decision...I am thrilled to be head coach for now and will do my best". He doesn't need Doug Whaley or Russ Brandon to hold his hand through that.

Rex was fired because of his embarrassing inattention to detail and the absolute failings of his defense. It's funny to listen to national sports talk and they still talk about what a great Defensive coach he is and some team will be lucky to get him as their defensive coordinator. Talk about a lack of awareness of the situation here... Rex and Rob's defense was abysmal. It cannot get much worse.

- Lynn continues to oversee/coach a productive offense, gains respect from rest of club - Lynn / Whaley hire a good defensive coordinator - Lynn remains as detail oriented as has been reported..(eliminates dumb mistakes administering players on/off field, late play calls, undisciplined penalties, etc..) - Whaley gets good / great players. Continues to upgrade roster - Result, Anthony Lynn = good coach

I was listening to John Murphy and his sidekick n WGR. They both think Tyrod feels pretty angry about being benched and will look for other teams in the offseason. They think if the Bills offer equal money he would bolt to another team. I also think it's a mistake to not bring him back,,,

I doubt Kyle S. would come here given he will have several choices (if he wants to be a HC). Smart guy, successful...I'd be fine with it.

The media in this town are the joke. What could the Bills possibly do to satisfy them? They all want to have the most hostile and inflammatory tweets and columns. Is there a protocol when promoting a guy to interim coach the week of a game? Do the President, GM, Owner typically sit at the table and field questions on the State of the franchise? Or do they wait until the season ends? Then.. when/if the interim coach is hired permanently they roll out the Executives and everyone shows up in a suit and tie. As i recall, the Jaguars and Rams interim coach press conferences were pretty low key.

Lynn had the look of a coordinator acting as head coach for a week, hoodie and all (although Belichek wears a hoodie to pressers so there ya go,,,something in common). If Lynn is organized on game day, communicates well, has the respect of players and Execs of the club, and the team plays hard....,I expect him to be wearing suit and tie to his introductory press conference because he will be named permanent head coach. In the end maybe that will be Rex Ryan's legacy. He will be the guy that brought Anthony Lynn into the organization as Lynn goes on to be the next Mike Tomlin..

He also praised Tyrod in that he always gives you a chance to win because he does not turn it over. You could tell Lynn likes that quality. Last I saw of EJ he was turning it over...and Cardale also throws some risky 50/50 balls down the middle of the field. I think this is a courtesy start for EJ, part business decision...part giving a good guy a chance to start one more game. I don't think they re-sign EJ.

I hope he's not gone...because I agree he's going to be a fine QB for several years. People here are so frustrated not making the playoffs for a generation that a good QB is about to be run out of town. If they want him throwing the ball in the middle of the field, they will work on it in the offseason. I'm not obsessed with that concept like many of the posters here. Tyrod can make all the throws.

I'm ok with this presser. The guy just needed to get up there and try to shake the nerves. He did the best he could in a new situation. This game vs. the Jets is barely an audition. Lynn didn't even get to pick his QB, which i assume would have been Tyrod. The result of the Jets game won't harm his chances if they lose. Unless he puts ten men on offense and defense he probably will be the head coach going forward.

EJ is not going to be the guy here. TT is better and maybe even Cardale is better than both in the long term.

The KC defense is everything the Bills D should be. Something I thought Rex had promised us. They are tough, play w confidence, opportunistic and certainly they don't get pushed around at home.
