I Bet $5,000 on Minnesota. Should I Be Worried?
zow2 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow that goes above and beyond the typical “emotional hedge” bet. With that kind of money I’d be openly rooting like crazy for Minny. Good luck. Seems like a no brainer result on paper.. but the NFL is weird and we’ve seen really crappy teams cover big spreads in the past. -
UB D-1football has been around for the last 20 years (and have had football for like 100?).. I feel like locals who don't know about them by now will never really care or show up. But they do have a niche and some good hardcore fans. Just not enough to fill up the stadium on Saturday's.

Browns are going to the playoffs

I feel like Hue should be fired for NOT starting Mayfield from game 1. He clearly did not put his team in the best position to win games. -

Mayfield looks great but let's not get crazy. Last night he was fortunate to have his team recover a strip sack fumble. He also hit a Jets DB right in the chest with a pass into the end zone that shoulda been picked off. So Baker could have easily turned the ball over twice which would have derailed the comeback for them. Things won't turn out as rosy in every game. That being said, Baker Mayfield proved that he was easily the #1 QB in the draft. -
TNF: Jets @ Browns (TT vs Darnold)

Can Hue be fired yet? Geez, do something to fire up your team man. -

I like TT, but the Browns have got to be thinking, hmmmm, maybe time for Baker tonight. -

I don’t think the announcers have noted once that the Jets know Tyrods game well, from Defending him twice a year. I think that’s a factor here -

We’ve seen so much less incidental contact called as a PI penalty. That shoulda been called imo. Based on how they’ve always called it -
Predict Josh Allen's stats v the Vikings
zow2 replied to FeelingOnYouboty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d be surprised (happily) if he throws for 50% and over 200 yds. I think this will be a brutal game for him. 13 for 34, 131 yds, 0 TD, 2 INTs 7 rush for 23 yds 2 fumbles, 1 lost -
Bills Make National Headlines Consistently
zow2 replied to OutOfBubbleGum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Eh, there are lot's of teams with Drama.. Steelers and Browns to name a couple. but in general, media and fans can't look away from a car wreck. -
I'm usually optimistic about the final score. Not this week. I think the team and Allen have a brutal day. Vikings 37 Bills 6

Dolphins sign Nick O’Leary to practice squad
zow2 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm also one of the few people who seemed to have liked O'Leary. Didn't he have a big TD in our huge win at Miami on New Years Eve? Oh well, I guess the Bills don't need a good, reliable, possession receiving tight end on this sorry club. -
TCU has some serious hot in the student section

I think the UB Bulls cheerleaders are hotter than the Arizona State squad. Ok, just felt like being stupid for a minute.... ...carry on ! -
Sporting News article - Are Bills in fact rudderless?
zow2 replied to KOKO NFL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A year or two down the road it might be proven that Beane is the smartest guy in the room for what he’s doing now with this roster. At the moment, however, he is looking the polar opposite of that. I’m certainly willing to give this staff the benefit of the doubt that they will start righting the ship this upcoming offseason. If not, they don’t see the spring of 2020. -
It's called trying new things to see if a change can make the team better. I had no problem with it at the time and I liked TT. Peterman flopped. The real question is what did McD see over the summer to make him think the "terrible young white guy" would be much improved in a real regular season road game? Why did he go back to revisit his worst ever coaching move? That decision has really put a stain on McD's 2018 season.

Even though I'm critical of McDermott, I would not fire him after this season. Heck, I have 50 people here convincing me that sucking this bad is all part of the process to be great again. So I would allow him to get the rookie QB some valuable experience this year, fill in the holes this coming offseason with draft picks and all this cap space to sign free agents. I do think the season has spiraled out of control in a bad way though.

Every throw from Josh Allen’s 1st start
zow2 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As we dissect Josh Allen's throws. here's an Interesting read about Trubisky, who now has 14 starts under his belt.. and was taken well ahead of Mahomes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mack's athleticism is on par with his power—which makes him nearly impossible to slow down. The same can't be said about the Bears offense, since Trubisky's play tends to sputter at times. The unit performed at its best the last two weeks within the structure of predetermined play-calling at the beginning of contests. Chicago scored touchdowns on both of its opening drives this year. Trubisky is 10-of-11 passing for 154 yards and two total touchdowns in those instances, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Once Nagy's preplanned approach is complete, last year's second overall pick doesn't appear nearly as comfortable in his role, even though the Bears have done everything in their power to make him so. Nagy and offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich instituted many collegiate concepts to expedite Trubisky's maturation as a starting quarterback. It's helped to a degree, but the second-year signal-caller continues to struggle with decision-making, overall accuracy and pocket awareness. Quarterback play starts with footwork. Trubisky has a bad habit of not driving through the football. His poor technique led to the first of two interceptions when he couldn't get enough on a deep sideline attempt and underthrew Allen Robinson. Instead, Shaquill Griffin came down with the pass. Griffin struck again later in the second quarter when he snagged a tipped pass out of the air. Improper balance occurs when a quarterback isn't shifting his weight from his back foot onto his plant leg. Trubisky tends to airmail passes when this occurs. Also, the quarterback nearly maneuvered his way into a couple sacks and should have thrown a third interception when he bailed from the pocket early despite a lack of pressure. Of course, it's a process. The Bears understand this. Trubisky has yet to start a full NFL season. Nagy is encouraged about some of the adjustments his quarterback made from the first week to the second. "This is going to be fun," the coach said, per the Chicago Tribune's Rich Campbell. "I'm excited for our future together." As the Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes II tears up the league with 10 touchdown passes through two weeks, some disappointment has to set in, since the Bears chose Trubisky eight picks before Mahomes came off the board. The Bears quarterback has nine touchdown passes through 14 contests. -
Its' easy and lazy for reporters to link Vontae Davis to a "culture thing".. but to me it is and always will be a Vontae Davis issue.

I don't think there will be anything good about this game. The Vikes, imo, are better at most positions than the Ravens. We won't have Peterman wasting our time in this game but I don't foresee Allen doing much. I'm really hoping he can just stay away from Interceptions and of course injury. Well, maybe there is one good thing...I have the Vikings DST in fantasy.

Brandon Bean failed to provide Josh Allen a mentor
zow2 replied to GrizzReaper's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, it's right about now I'm wishing Frank Reich was our coach... who know if they would have drafted Allen? But at least Frank could mentor and properly oversee a rookie QB. -
We've seen some messed up stuff in the news but this really gets me upset. In Ames, Iowa no less on a golf course. People can't just live their lives in peace. RIP to this girl. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6179199/Ex-Iowa-State-golfer-dead-course-suspect-charged.html

Didn't the Sabres do that by signing one of Eichel's college linemates? Anyway, I believe the McBeane mindset is that the defense should be stronger and it's the only unit that will be able to keep them in games this year. The offense is gonna be rough and no matter who they bring in it won't appreciably make the offense better this year.
