  1. I think that short FG was more technical related and maybe some breeze in his face. I mean Haush drilled a few kickoffs and had plenty of leg on his other FG attempts.
  2. USATODAY.com “Yep, totally ready to play,” Anderson said Friday. The former Bronco and Panther rushed for 1,007 yards in Denver last season and has postseason experience, winning a Super Bowl with Wade Phillips and the Broncos a few years ago. The spotlight won’t be too big for him, having been in the NFL for six years. “Just been a cerebral guy my whole career,” Anderson said. “My competitive advantage is my football I.Q. and plenty of coaches and players around the league compliment me on that and I think that’s something that you take – you don’t get too many pluses in this league – so when you got one, you take it. I’m happy that that’s one of mine and if I’ve gotta go Sunday, I’m ready to go.” It’s easy to see why the Rams brought in a player of his caliber and experience, knowing Gurley might be a scratch on Sunday.
  3. For the record, I wasn’t suggesting in any way that C.J. would’ve averaged 4.5 ypc and/or made this rushing attack suddenly dangerous. I’m just saying the RB position has been in flux, suffered some injuries during the period C.J. was available. And this GM and coach have had no problem bringing in guys like Kaelin Clay, Kelvin, DA, Star, etc. ex-Panthers. They will jettison a punter after one shank. The dude yesterday was running North/South and bowling people over. Would’ve been worth a look when he was on the streets, That’s all.
  4. True. But they are close with that organization and know some front office personnel. I suspect they have a very close eye on what the Panthers are doing and who they release. With each passing year of course their interest w that organization will diminish.
  5. C.J. Anderson had a helluva day filling in for Gurley yesterday. Seems like the Carolina connection, McBeane, could’ve snagged him between Nov. 12 -Dec. 4. Then again in mid December when he was on the streets. The guy is a bull and would’ve helped the sorry running game here.
  6. Swearinger has been an idiot all season. He’s bad mouthed the coaching staff for in game calls and the teams’ practice habits. He was asked to address his issues in-house with the staff and his teammates but he continued to go to the media with his complaints. He’s a jerk, not a good lockerroom guy to say the least.
  7. There’s typically a pretty big leap in performance from Freshman to sophomore year. I’d like to see stats of that. Maybe im a homer but I think Allen is poised for the biggest leap. His play and mental game will improve as will the supporting cast around him. Darnold worries me because I think he will also make a nice leap and be a very solid QB for NY. Mayfield and Jackson are interesting because I think both are playing very good ball and I’m not sure how much better they’ll get?? What’s their ceiling? They’re already playing like they’ve been around a while, especially Baker. Rosen I have no clue about. I can’t figure him out.
  8. It really is noticeable when you watch the rest of the league. Can our guys just make a few catches per game that maybe they’re not supposed to make?!?! I thought Robert Foster was the best looking Receiver on the team at tracking the ball. Then he lets an 80yd TD reception fall harmlessly in front of him and points wildly at his eyes. Dude, fight through it and be prepared in advance for that possibility. Logan Thomas? Not NFL caliber, no hands. I’d much rather have slower Nick O’Leary who was a solid possession guy. Isaiah and Zay? They have trouble corralling Josh’s ropes with their hands. We don’t need anymore body catchers. Be an NFL WR for goodness sake.
  9. Saw some rumblings on the Pats board about them *hoping* the Eagles make a commitment to Foles and somehow the Pats make a big trade for Wentz as their next QB. I don't think that would ever happen, but interesting to see NE fans grasp as the Tom Brady era closes.
  10. That's cheap. The only arrogant thing is your reply and lumping all UB fans into one boat. Look, the kid can go to Monmouth, I don't care. Maybe he doesn't LOVE football and does not need the sport to be the center of his life. That's fine. He made a verbal commitment and backed out, it happens all the time. However, being in the MAC Championship game is a big deal. Having your games televised around the country is a huge deal to many of these recruits.
  11. Edelman has a higher football IQ than all our receivers combined. I hate it, but it's true.
  12. AJ said himself that his goal coming back to school for his senior season was to graduate college. After his injury vs Rutgers he was in protect-mode. You could tell he didn't want to hurt himself more and mess up his NFL draft status. Can't really blame him. Obviously that didn't help Tyree any. But the Bulls had an awesome rushing attack, and that turned out to be their strong point in my opinion. Tyree was so friggin inaccurate the last half of the season., and he too often tried to make the long low % pass and not take the easy one to move the chains. Slow eyes, long slow delivery, poor ball security... he's kind of a middling NFL prospect. But his arm strength is what will attract teams.
  13. Allen looks pretty good, but he's got a ways to go. I wish he would take the easy play sometimes... On 3rd and 4 or 4th and 3, throw the short pass sometimes and get the first down. He too often goes downfield 20 yards+ and the chances of a completion are lower. Just move the chains Josh... (of course his guys have to make a simple catch once in a while too).
  14. That Mahomes fella. He’s pretty good.
  15. McD said this year in an interview that he has little patience. What you see in public is not necessarily his persona behind the scenes. Probably why he gets rid of punters so easily and why I’m sure half this offense will be jettisoned after the season.
  16. Agree for the most part but let’s stop putting blame at the doorstep of the Oline for everything. Name me one NFL fanbase that is thrilled with their Oline. It’s always the weak spot for everyone and by week #16 many starters are injured anyway. The Jets fans think their Oline is horrible. But that doesn’t stop Darnold for throwing for 350 yds and 3 Tds
  17. Wow, was Pittsburgh hosed on that PI call. The refs literally gifted New Orleans a 50 yard TD.
  18. No one, who is a bonafide QB in the NFL will sign with Buffalo knowing Josh Allen is the guy for now. It’s Allen and Barkley, that’s it. Allen gets at least 3 Full seasons.
  19. Yup. Tom is just chucking the ball to empty turf rather than absorb a hit. He’s definitely in protect-his-body mode which I can’t totally blame him. His ability to make plays under pressure has really diminished
  20. Sounds dumb now but I hated the decision to not try a 2nd FG to make it 14-3 in first half. Yes, Haush missed the first one, but 4th and 4, shorter FG attempt it was very makeable. Hausch’s kickoffs were deep so clearly his first miss was a technical thing i believe not an injury
  21. What’s up with our WRs?!? I mean not the most talented group but holy cow, when the throw is contested, and they have to track the ball, stop and high point it, they all suck! So many chances to make game changing receptions and they can’t do it. Forget about the obvious passes that sail through their hands, that’s another story. oh and why does it seem every 3rd and 4th down pass in Pats territory has to be 25 yards downfield? Can’t we just have a play to get the first down? Jeez make the easy play. and lastly, Josh Allen can lose the little “touch” floater pass that he fell in love with during the Detroit game. That will add many INTs to his stat line.
  22. For an NFL game this is about as bad as a team can get dominated on both lines of scrimmage. In all three phases
  23. Well yeah. The eye test shows he’s better than that. But he will show improvement next year. He has to. Because if he put up those passing stats as a 2nd-3rd round pick the Bills would be drafting another QB.
  24. Pats rushing straight up middle. Perfect strategy for stopping a mobile QB.
  25. Hopefully next season all the bad mojo for Allen... receiver drops, receivers poor job tracking jump balls, fumbles deep... all flips around and we start getting rewarded
