  1. yeah the Baltimore mop up duty pulled him down. But like i said, with experience and better players around him, he will be better. But % is a good indicator .
  2. True, True. Let's hope he brings together his entire package of leadership, arm, etc.. to be the guy we need. But if you're a QB with a 58% completion, along with a slightly below 1:1 TD to Interception ratio, along with some running ability...your name is Geno Smith.
  3. I hear ya. If he's hitting at 55% completion this year (which isn't very good), then I think he can improve that to 58-60% with experience and better players around him. But to be honest, if he's a 55% or below passer this season, I doubt he ever gets to a very healthy 64%+ or greater that the elite QB's have. You can't learn to do that.
  4. Yes, he's holding on to the ball way too long in the pocket. but hey, he's improving from week 1 to week 2!
  5. Those Pittsburgh Steelers superstars are not playing around this year. In addition, several Steelers seem grumpy about their personal situations, or the situations of their teammates...or the media. Fun times in Pittsburgh.
  6. Yes, exactly. Thank you. Nice to see a few people on the board can read through the thread and understand my point.
  7. They kind of are. For example, the Redskins fans are getting killed this morning on locals DC radio. The team announced only 57K for opening day (looked more like 40K), coming off a big road win and expectations that they are as good as any in the NFC East. Philly is looking less than impressive. The loyal Bills fans will show up en-masse, all you gotta do is give em just a little something to get excited about.
  8. As much as I'm hoping for it, it's just not realistic to expect Allen to be slinging it all over the place with success. He's still trying to process everything and therefore he's holding the ball too long. Not to mention the receivers aren't getting wide open, except for that DiMarco play. I just want him to look competent, which he did. Even Alex Smith so far this season has thrown more than half his passes to running backs.
  9. I'll be happy if the Bills can even take a lead into halftime at some point let alone win a game. and I suspect it would have to happen via a defensive or special teams TD getting tossed into the mix. and some Allen improvement of course.
  10. Agree with a lot of what you said. And despite my being upset with the huge drop-off from even last year.... I am not advocating to fire McD and Beane. After getting their new QB experience and infusing talent in the 2019 offseason, I would expect a significant improvement next season from what we are seeing this year.
  11. Logan Thomas stinks! and no I never call WGR. So i guess two of us have a beef with that move. And for everyone trying to educate me on why Mcbeane are so smart and clearing up past mistakes. I get it. But you will never convince me it hasn't spiraled out of control, in a bad way. They weren't supposed to be THIS bad and the joke of the league. I'm sorry, the Pegulas were not expecting THAT. It's not good for business. There's no fool-proof evidence that sucking and having draft picks will make you into a contender.
  12. I'm glad so many are Ok with the Sabres-like, tear it down and rebuild with a barely competitive team. I hope Josh Allen can stay healthy out there and develop. And I guess I should hope by 2020 that we can start winning some games.
  13. Seems like Lance enjoys stability and is not looking to jump around. I mean the guy stayed at D-3 Wisconsin-Whitewater for 8 years. It was really out of the box for him to agree to join UB and go to an FBS program. Now that he's finally turned the roster over, getting his players and has assembled a solid staff, the team is winning. Pretty sure he and his family enjoy living in Clarence.. and i think he stays at least 3 more seasons. Why would you build something up and then jump to a Rutgers for example and get stressed out and pummeled.
  14. I agree the Pegulas are not dumb by any means. What I'm trying to say is they didn't sign up to be the laughingstocks of the NFL, much like their hockey has been. The club can still reload and not be an embarrassment. The team is being ridiculed on-air by the Fox pre-game show, NFL Network, etc.. A mediocre team came from the west coast to east coast and whooped them.
  15. My take on Josh, The good: He looked the part, didn't seem too overwhelmed, good leadership, the guys like him... has the arm, hit a few passes. and he made a few nice runs. The Bad: Held on to the ball way way too long. made the O-line look poor when they actually held up on many occasions. Sailed a few passes. Did not release the ball fast in that very short window when guys were breaking open. While the runs gave the team a spark, if he continues to take on guys, the Linebackers on the other teams are gonna light his a$$ up. He won't last doing that. Josh just needs to run out of bounds or slide quickly.
  16. There's just no way that I can come up with a scenario that Terry and Kim signed off on a total "tear it down" and rebuild plan. Certainly not to be the laughinstocks of the NFL. He has gone through years of pain dealing with that on the NHL side. Now I get that McBeane sold to them in the offseason,, that Buffalo has to get through a season with a ton of dead cap money, and will have to work in a rookie QB. But I also believe they were told they have a gamer in Peterman, a vet in McCarron to stabilize the ship, a solid Defense coming off a playoff season... and some free agents to add to the mix. I have no doubt the Pegulas were told they might take a step back, but no way they would become a league joke and risk alienating his football fanbase like what happened to his NHL fansbase. In the NFL, you don't have to SUCK to build a winner. What you do is you stay relevant and reload at the positions of need as attrition happens. If I were the Pegulas, I'd be walking around pissed off today. Yes=- Allen looks decent but the amount of holes they have to fill are staggering. Some of the players McBeane thought would be decent are not playing well or have been flat out released. I don't get some of their roster moves. For example, why would a team desperate for a good, solid posssession receiver would get rid of O'Leary and keep Logan Thomas? That dude can't play the position or be trusted to catch a pass. Overall, the McBeane era has taken a huge hit this year for me. I had a ton of faith in them, but it's wavering.
  17. What I really wanted to see is if Allen passed the eye test of a QB that at least looks competent. He wasn’t chucking passes into the turf so that was good. He seemed like he belonged out there. I’m not killing him for accuracy because the offensive talent around him is very suspect. I don’t know if the few receivers he has are always in the right places either. What I didn’t like was Allen’s inability to make quick decisions. Sometimes the line gave him like 4-5 seconds and he’d just stand there, surveying the field, then do like a 3 yard dump pass. I mean if he has that kinda time there should be guys streaking downfield or on a cross pattern. that being said, Allen looks the part and actually did better than I thought he would. The two INTs, he will learn from and I suspect he will slide or get out of bounds more when he decides to run. No need taking unnecessary shots from a LB.
  18. But his base is off, his base!!
  19. Peterman wasn't thrown a bone by having his two starts being on the road, I'll give you that. Even Big Ben is talked about as having poor home/road game splits. Things are just harder on the road. Home: 18 for 35, 186 yds, 2 TD's, zero Int's Road: 12 for 35, 104 yds, 0 TD's, 8 Int's Unfortunately for him, his BAD has been really really bad. Unless things fall to pieces for Allen this weekend (or he gets hurt)... I don't see Peterman getting on the field again. I like Nate. Maybe, for his sake, everything will line up for him get a home start, on a reasonably nice day vs. a middling team like Tenn, Mia or Detroit. I'm certainly not rooting for it because that would mean something happened to Allen to prevent him from playing. But ya never know. I kinda' think Peterman will be fortunate to stick around after this weekend. I'm sure the Bills are looking around at other backup QB's...someone that has actually started and finished an NFL game in their career without embarrassing himself.
  20. If Allen has "the tools" as we have seen in limited capacity thus far, then he shouldn't be a disaster this Sunday, even behind a sub-par O-line. I'm pretty sure the running game will be grinding out some yards on the home turf. The guys will play hard for him. He needs to protect himself too and go easy on the unnecessary scrambling and lunging for first downs. He was bounced on his head twice in preseason. not good.
  21. Even if Nate gets a chance w/ another club, ,,and goes 11-12, 120 yds and 2 TDs in every pre-season game he plays in,.. his credibility is shot. He's the punchline to every joke about bad quarterback play.. for example , "Well, (any QB) was bad, but he didn't pull a Peterman!"
  22. I sat inside M&T Bank stadium with a relative from Baltimore who is a big Ravens fan. He was literally dumbfounded by the Bills. He kept asking me, did these guys even have a training camp? Did the coaches prepare them for anything at all? From the QB, receivers, O-line, DB's, Punter...literally every unit he said looked like they've never practiced. And I couldn't argue with him. McD needs to make a huge coaching "comeback" because I'm really starting to lose faith in this guy and the staff he's assembled,,,and the decisions he has made along with Beane.
  23. Didn't really care for the KB trade when we got him. Now i really dislike this guy. Just seems like a flat-out jerk who doesn't take accountability for anything.
  24. Ah, the Bulls/Bills doubleheader weekend. I love coming in for those. Maybe one of these years both teams will be good at the same time!
