  1. Also, here's CBS's straight up picks - https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/features/writers/expert/picks/straight-up/7 Everyone picked the Bills. Edit: When it comes to the fan picks for each game, the Bills have the highest voting total in their favor. 94% picked the Bills, 6% picked the Dolphins. In comparison, the undefeated 49ers playing against the 1-win Redskins had the vote split 92% to 8%, and the undefeated Pats vs the 1-win Jets had the vote split 88% to 12%. That really says a lot about how awful the Dolphins are considered this year...
  2. Fortunately the same guy on ESPN who picked the Broncos to beat the Chiefs is the same one who picked the Dolphins to beat the Bills. He's also one of only two people to pick the Bengals to get their first win & beat the Jags. But hey, he also has the 2nd best overall record, so maybe he knows something we don't.
  3. "You should know this though, because you do it all the time - Describe Offside." LOL that definitely got a chuckle out of me.
  4. I mean, it's not surprising at all. I'm sure our fans will get pissed and argue how this isn't indicative of the player he is, and that in reality he's the one QB in modern history that's a great player while simultaneously playing like he has... There's definitely room for growth, but man does he have to get MUCH better to be a real franchise QB. Edit: Yup...after reading through some comments, of course people now are just outright dismissing PFF because they don't like what they see. Did anyone really think after watching how Allen's played so far that he'd be ranked higher than these guys? Honestly?
  5. Mariota could easily work with a coordinator & coach that know his strengths. He hasn't had much consistency and has been forced to work a system not fit to his abilities. Don't think he's a top QB or anything, but he could be a Nick Foles/Jared Goff kind of QB who does well within the right system (no, I'm not saying his game is like those 2 QB's though).
  6. The crappiest thing about being so bad offensively is the way in which we fail to take advantage of good field position. Allen turning the ball over is an obvious problem, but the amount of times our defense has flipped field advantage in our favor, or our returners have put us in good position, only to let it go to crap via taking bad sacks, penalties, turning it over or failing to convert a 1st down is so painful to watch. If we can start capitalizing on more of that, even if only with FG's, it'll help dramatically.
  7. Bill Belichick is something like 11-0 against first or second season QB's. In other words, the Jets don't stand a chance, even if Darnold is the real deal. Also, that defense is stupid good and would give experienced QB's trouble. This is the same group that annointed Allen after struggling to defeat a handful of bad teams... People think if they HOPE hard enough, their optimism will manifest it into reality. Too bad we actually have to let them play the games to find out.
  8. I HATE the standing Bison logo. Just looks like a passive target waiting to get killed. Might as well be a grazing cow or pig by a trough. At least the charging logo resembles something that could inflict damage or be feared irl.
  9. I mean, you're not wrong. And just like NFL.com said, the last 2 times we started a season 4-1, we finished with a losing record. The teams we beat are just bad teams, and we struggled against all of them, but at least we're beating the teams we should beat. But even as unimpressive as we've been on offense, we still have 2 games against Miami, and 1 against the Jets, Redskins, Browns, and Broncos. Even if Allen and the offense continue to play poorly, they'd have to play miserably to finish with a losing record this year.
  10. Until Allen has even 1 game where he looks in the same ball park as Patrick Mahomes, I'll always feel bad. Same goes for DeShaun Watson, but that doesn't hurt QUITE as bad, because we only passed on him instead of straight up giving the Chiefs a once in a lifetime QB (when we were desperate for a QB the entire time). It's not just the insane stats, the records being broken left & right, the amazing awareness, the great arm that can throw effortless deep spirals (on point and at any place on the field), the decision making, the lack of turnovers, etc. it's the feel when watching the games that you can tell one guy just KNOWS what he's doing in almost every situation, while the other guy you're crossing your fingers every time you see he's sensing pressure... There's a chance he could escape it, but there's an even more likely chance he'll run around trying to extend the play, hold onto the ball too long, not throw it away, take a bad sack, run into a defender he didn't see (resulting in a fumble), or just lob it up & turn it over. And when he does throw deep, the ball is often an ugly wobbler that almost always misses the mark, whether it's way past the intended target, or so underthrown it makes you question all the talk about his strong arm.
  11. And where do you come up with these percentages? Why should only 5 percent be wrong? Why not 4% or 6% or 12%? And you "guess" they are less than 60% right? Well that's concrete evidence if I've ever heard... So you just guessed that percentage, then decide to get upset about it? How does that make sense?
  12. They didn't crap the bed last year though, Reid got them to the AFC Championship game with what was essentially a rookie QB, and when that QB left the field, they were beating the best team in the league 28-24 with 2 minutes left on the clock. Of course Tom Brady marched them down the field & scored in that 2 mins, but even then the Chiefs didn't just give up, they scored a FG to send it into OT. To get that close with that young a QB, and against the inevitable Super Bowl Champs, HOF Coach & GOAT QB says a lot. Acting like we wouldn't have given anything to be in that position the past 2 decades is just crazy.
  13. Don't these analysts know better than to pick the Bills to do anything good before we're at least over the 6 win mark? Doesn't matter if we're 5-0, until I see that 6th win while off to a fast start, I'm not convinced. The Bills defense is great, but with Allen & this offense playing like they have, it'd be a miracle to get to the AFC Championship game.
  14. The Patriots defense is better than ours, hate to say it. It's currently on pace to go down as the best defense of ALL TIME. I know our defense is great, but right now the Pats are playing at an insane level, and have had the luxury of weak opponents (so have we, but just saying). And we held the Pats to 16, in Buffalo. So?
  15. Then he also gets the criticism for not being able to evaluate QB talent, electing to pass on Mahomes & Watson, and thinking Nathan Peterman was a capable enough QB to not only draft, but to name as the starter heading into the season. He also traded away a 3rd round pick for Kelvin Benjamin, but glad he at least tried with that one. But yes, defensively he's been great. Offensively, not so much.
  16. Watch any good matchups I can, pay a bit more attention to Fantasy teams, and usually checkout how our future competition is doing (though this year that isn't much). Otherwise just eat, s*** and sleep.
  17. How does the XFL draft even work? All the teams are owned by the league, so is Vince going to give pseudo control to other people for each team, then allow them to legitimately compete against each other? Or will it be all for looks like the WWE when they have Smackdown vs Raw drafts? How do trades work? Does the league just decide "we need this team to be more competitive" and yank players from team A & move them to team B? Seems kind of weird when there's just one owner of all the teams.
  18. Have to run, passing is futile at this point against them. They're talking about it right now on the post game, the Pats defense is playing at historically great levels and is on pace to go down as the top defense of ALL TIME. Our offense has no chance passing against them, so better get that run game going...It's our only shot.
  19. Though I think we have the capability of winning by that much, unless the defense gets some points off turnovers, I don't see us winning by over 2 TD's. This team plays more like the Bills of old, where they'll play up or down to the competition. They'll step up & play good teams close, or they'll play poorly, and let bad teams stay in games. Even if the Dolphins are a dumpster fire, there's always a couple games each year where the 0 - X team comes out & beats the favorite, so I'm not expecting a complete blowout.
  20. Definitely, which is pretty amazing considering how good he was when he was with us. I remember many people saying it he wasn't worth the kind of money he was wanting, but he's been one of those rare players who lived up to every penny of their contracts & then some. Pats definitely got their money's worth.
  21. It still bums me out seeing how good Stephon Gilmore is... He was a top 10 corner with us, but he's gotten even better with the Pats, it's insane how much of a lockdown corner he's become.
  22. As much as the Cowboys SB losses hurt, I was still pretty young & couldn't take them as heavily as I do now. As for my most painful adult-life Cowboys loss, that one still hurts. The first MNF game in Buffalo in like 13 years, the Cowboys undefeated, Bills 1-3 with the most injuries in the league at that point, it was supposed to be a blowout Cowobys win. But after 6 Tony Romo turnovers, the Bills were up 24-13 heading into the 4th and there was hope for a massive upset. The Cowboys score an early 4th quarter FG, then proceed to march down the field & score a TD with 20 seconds left, recover an onside kick, get a deep pass to TO on the sidelines, kick a 50+ yard FG (twice because we tried to ice the kicker), and win at the end. No game in modern memory has made me more mad as a Bills fan. I'm still waiting for legit payback for that game. The next time we played them was one of those seasons we started off with a quick 5 wins, making people think we were legit, only to collapse later on (Cowboys blew us out 44 to 7). Then last time, we beat their 3rd string QB in a meaningless game when both teams were well out of contention. Here's hoping this Thanksgiving we can send the Cowboys packing with similarly depressing memories for years to come
  23. Considering what was invested to get him, it's the least he could do. Don't worry, Allen will throw us out of a lot of games against good opponents, he's got you covered.
  24. I wish there were a better way to keep coordinators in this league. Just sucks whenever we get a good defense built up the coordinators leave.
  25. I doubt it as well, but the Titans came close, and they wouldn't have even been there had it not been for a fluke play with seconds left in the game. One thing that we know for certain is Rob Johnson wouldn't have won it...unless he was on the bench like in the Buccaneers Super Bowl win.
