  1. Hey, I'm with you here. I despise him, and specifically his dominance against the Bills. But I can't deny he's the GOAT QB.
  2. I'm not "worshiping." I just want to know, from an unbiased standpoint, how people feel in comparison to Jordan. Seriously, we can be mature about this, even on a Bills board. There are tons of non-Bills related posts every day discussing various topics. This is no worse. That very well could be true, but in terms of accomplishments what is your opinion?
  3. They're talking about it on ESPN Radio right now, and I have to say I sadly think yes, he is. Jordan is considered the GOAT in the NBA. He has 6 Championship rings. However, there have been several players with more than that like Bill Russell, Robert Horry, Sam Jones, etc. but Jordan gets more credit because he did it in the modern era and was the leader of those teams. Again, we have people like Kareem Abdul Jabbar with 6, same with Scottie Pippen, and plenty of people who were also leaders of their team with 5. Tom Brady is tied right now with Charles Haley with most rings regardless of position, but could possibly surpass that with a win. I'd argue his 5 rings in the NFL as a QB leading his team is more significant than 6 rings in the NBA, but if he gets 6, there's no contest. He already has the stats to back up everything (just like Jordan), and has more championship game appearances. He's also played 36 post season games (the equivalent of over 2 full NFL seasons) which is absolutely nuts. Jordan also played just over 2 full seasons worth of games in the post season. Jordan was a 6 time Finals MVP, 5 time League MVP, and is 4th all time in scoring. Brady is 4 time SB MVP (most all time), 2 time AP League MVP, and 4th all time in yards/3rd all time in TDs. Brady is also the winningest QB of all time with 223 wins (Peyton is 2nd with 200), while also being the winningest post-season QB ever with 27 wins & 9 losses (.750 win percentage) compared to 2nd place Joe Montana's 16 wins & 7 losses (.696 win percentage). The fact that Brady dwarfs his peers in post season success, has the stats to back it up in the regular season, stands alone at the top for championship wins & championship appearances (literally played in a SB every other year of his career on average), completed the first & only 16-0 regular season record, 2nd all time in 4th quarter comebacks, 3rd best 4th quarter passer rating all time (behind Tony Romo & Matt Ryan), and makes his teammates better solidifies his spot in my opinion. On top of all that, he's done it in the era of Free Agency (insane!) and without star players loading up the roster. They gifted him some great receivers in Moss & Welker once, and they were fantastic, but otherwise he has a rotating cast of role players that he elevates, and Gronk. To put how crazy this is in perspective, before Brady the Pats had 2 SB appearances, 0 wins. In their franchise HISTORY, the Steelers & Cowboys have 6 SB championships each with 8 appearances. In one generation, Brady himself has 8 appearances! In that one generation, he has the chance to tie the top 2 franchises in SB wins himself! In the Brady era, he has put the Patriots in the same league as the Cowboys & Steelers in franchise relevance. Jim Kelly is a legend with 4 SB losses...even if Brady loses this SB, that'll almost tie him with Kelly's losses, with the caveat that he also has 5 wins on top of it! Overall, I'd say 5 NFL SB rings as a QB is more exclusive and difficult than 6 NBA rings. The fact more people aren't straight up calling him the GOAT *period* as they did Jordan is weird to me. If he wins this game, that'll change fast.
  4. They're talking about Gilmore right now on Dan Leobatard show. They're calling it the Patriot's special "cornerback levitation" play, where they unleash their super hero corner to defy gravity & stop a perfect throw by Bortles. Seriously, they're talking about him defying the laws of gravity, and going nuts describing how amazing the play was.
  5. I do hope he gets a chance again. He deserves it. How were the Lion's defenses of those times?
  6. There must be something about Schwartz's personality that makes him off-putting or something. Either that, or owners/execs have identified him as a Wade Philips kinda guy. They see him as a fantastic coordinator, but not cut out for being a HC. Whether that's deserved (for either of them) or not is debatable, but they may just want him as a guy on their staff but not leading everyone.
  7. It's true. But we love the underdog guys like Fred Jackson and Stevie Johnson (before he got big) and Lorenzo Alexander. Hell, we LOVED Jerry Hughes until he got the contract, now he's getting tons of hate on these boards. Mario Williams didn't single-handedly get us to the playoffs year one, so he got hated. Then he became a multi-time pro-bowler and a top 25 player, so things got quiet. But then Rex came into town, misused his team, then the Mario hate returned with a vengeance. Gilmore, Dareus, Clements, Byrd (before he got the money but when we knew he would), McGahee (because he made jokes about the city), Jason Peters (when we knew he'd command money), etc. Hell, we hate our 1st round picks in general. Lawson, McGahee, Maybin, Losman, Watkins, Dareus, Spiller, Manuel, Gilmore, McKelvin, Whitner, McCargo, Mike Williams... I think the only ones we liked were Lynch and White (for now), and Woods who most are neutral on.
  8. I'm not "glad" he's gone, but I agree with the rest of your post. He's not a top 5 CB, and he gets burned all the time. Just makes a few good plays and "all is forgiven."
  9. https://sports.yahoo.com/afc-championship-stephon-gilmore-overcomes-early-season-doubts-make-huge-play-022914647.html "The Jaguars were facing fourth-and-15 with 1:53 to play, starting from the New England 43. Blake Bortles threw for Dede Westbrook deep down the right sideline, and Gilmore made a tremendous play, leaping, stretching out and knocking the ball away. Just like that, all was forgiven. The crowd at Gillette Stadium went bananas. Barring a catastrophe, Gilmore had sealed the Patriots’ third Super Bowl trip in the last four years." He's just one more guy I wish we kept, as having him & White on opposite sides would've been fantastic, but I understand why we didn't. We weren't in the best cap situation, and he wasn't exactly dying to stay here. Just crazy to see yet another Bills player help the Patriots in such obvious ways. One more SB in the books, and Gilmore was a big part of that.
  10. I used to love Foles. Was a long time supporter always hoping the Bills would take a shot at him. But after his year with the Rams, I sorta just figured Jeff Fisher sunk his career & it was over. Oddly enough, the QB opposite of Foles yesterday Case Keenum, also looked awful under Jeff Fisher. Now here they both were leading their teams in the NFC Championship games...that's just awesome. Glad Foles is redeeming himself. He's been great.
  11. The Jaguars were underdogs all week... Who the hell were you talking to that said the Patriots...THE PATRIOTS, had no chance at all? I've never seen a single person for over a decade say the Patriots with Brady dont stand a chance for any game.
  12. I mean Brady is the best. And he always rises to the occasion. Bortles had a 102+ passer ratting all game until the very last drive which dropped him to a 98. Brady on the other hand had an 87 passer rating in the first 3 quarters while in the 4th he had a 130+! That's insane...When the game is on the line, he just comes alive.
  13. Bottles had a great game for the most part. Still makes me laugh we had people before the Jacksonville game say they'd rather have Tyrod than him in the playoffs. He outplayed Brady most of the game, was smart, made good decisions, and did it on the road. The Jags running game wasn't even doing much, so congrats to them all for playing the Pats so well. In other news, the Patriots have now won their last 4 playoff games where they were down by 10 points or more...That just sucks. The Bills are the exact opposite in recent years. They go down at all, even by a point, and it becomes nearly impossible to win. And as much as I hate him, Brady is the best QB of all time easy. Doesn't even need to win this SB. Has 5 win, 2 losses and about to have either a 6th win or 3rd loss. To put that in perspective, Jim Kelly is considered one of the top 15 QBs of all time with half the stats and 4 losses... Even if Brady loses, he'll be 1 SB loss away from Kelly's SB losses, but with the bonus of having also won FIVE. That's insane...And was done in the Free agency era.
  14. But we do have to watch Stephon Gilmore, Chris Hogan and Mike Gilislee go ?
  15. If those were my only options, pass. Not unless I can grab Jackson or Rudolph in the 2nd round. Wouldn't use either of our 1st rounders on them.
  16. I mean the rationale behind their prediction makes sense, so I can't be mad. It's very likely that if we draft a QB to start, or turn it over to an inexperienced Peterman, that we very well could take a step back just due to growing pains in learning the position.
  17. Defensive pass interference would be committed all the time in the pros if it was 15 yards! It would be absolutely horrible to strategically rob big play after big play because you can't make a play on the ball. This has been discussed plenty of times by people in the sport. They voted on whether or not to change it in 2015, but opted overwhelmingly not to. This year, the Bills actually benefited more from PI in total yardage than they were hurt by it, as they committed 107 yards in PI calls and gained 110 yards from PI committed against them. If there's any change relating to PI that NEEDS to be done, it's allow it to be a reviewable penalty that can be challenged! That would resolve so much crap, it's a genuine shock it hasn't happened already.
  18. Texas Tech has 2 guys in the NFL with one about to be. Mahomes was a 1st rounder last year, Davis Webb is loved by the Giants and was picked in the 3rd round, and Baker Mayfield is going to be a 1st round pick this year. They all started at Tech and played the same offense throughout their college careers, however Mayfield & Webb split due to behind the scenes issues & anger over not being the starter.
  19. I thought this was always known? Haven't experts been saying for a while that positions like O-line & D-linemen are most at risk since they take direct smaller hits to the head on every single play? Concussions just contribute to damage already being done over & over & over from every hit throughout the game/season.
  20. It'll take at LEAST a 2nd. Hell, the Vikings traded a 1st and 4th for Bradford...and Smith is better, stays healthy, and more consistent than him. Smith isn't exactly "young," but he's still only 33, and as we've seen QB's play at a high level for quite a while longer these days. To put that in perspective, Drew Brees is 39... so imagine if we had Drew Brees from age 33-39. That's a LOT of good/great seasons from that age onward. Smith could potentially play until he's 39 as well, so there's still SOME upside, even if he isn't intended to be the long term answer. I'd rather have a competent offense to at least give some semblance of help to our very good defense.
  21. Hear me out... Brady is old, Rodgers is now injury prone, and Tyrod is in his prime. Do you really think it's fair to have them compete with him at this point in their careers?
  22. "1 of or 1st" / "1 of or second" what do those things even mean?
  23. Does the simplicity make it easier for defenses to figure out what handful of plays we could be running though? I feel that if I can understand it & pick it up so easily, it must be even easier for people trained to read & understand it on the field.
  24. First off, he's a guy that commands franchise tag money already and isn't happy with it, so imagine how much we'd have to spend to lock him up long term. Second, neither back wants to not start. Even if they were to get even carries, only one would be considered the starter. Third, unless we are planning to draft and or sign in free agency some amazing O-line talent, it wouldn't be worth the investment. And locking up multiple backs with big money could be awful (see Philadelphia a few years ago...and they had a GREAT line).
  25. Here's the thing, it doesn't matter if he was never going to move the team. His offer for the team was dwarfed by what the Pegula's offered, therefore he lost. Him and Trump both bid less than $1 billion, while the Pegula's went $1.4 billion. Money talks, and that was the deciding factor.
