As much as I tend to hate the sappy commercials that try to get all mushy & pull on your heart strings, the Anthony Lynn one where he met all the first responders, medics, and emergency staff that helped save his life the night he was in a car accident & almost died being shot from his car is what I considered the best commercial. It didn't feel forced & fake, and you could tell Lynn was genuinely surprised & emotional when they came out to meet him. I really felt for him, and it was awesome to see his joy & gratitude like that. But if it was any other year, the Bud Knight/Game of Thrones commercial would've been #1 for me.

When talking about the GOAT conversation in North American sports on PTI, they discussed Brady & now comparing him to Jordan. Then they had this exchange that made me think Kornheiser is an idiot, watch the full exchange here - Kornheiser: "You know, I'm not saying he's better, I'm saying they are shoulder to shoulder in the annals of history. Wilbon: "Yeah, and they were shoulder to shoulder already." Kornheiser: "I don't know that, I don't know that.....If they had lost this to go 5 & 4, I don't know. 6 is magic." Uh what? What makes six championships in the NFL more "magic" than five? Five had NEVER been done before by any QB, so you're telling me not only did Brady matching Joe Montana & Terry Bradshaw in the era of Free Agency not qualify, but being the first & likely only QB to ever win 5 Super Bowls, as well as having played in 8 up until that point not convince you? He had to win six...IN THE NFL...to be adequately comparable to Jordan? Why? Jordan is a legend, yes. But even if he is the GOAT, 6 rings isn't the pinnacle of his sport and isn't what cemented him as the GOAT, so why does the number 6 for championships translate to a magic number? Kareem had 6, several more have 7-10, and Bill Russell has freaking 11, so why isn't 11 the "magic number?" I mean it's just as arbitrary as 6 when applied to the NFL, so I think it's pretty stupid to say Brady's 5 before last night wasn't enough to already say he's shoulder to shoulder. Jim Kelly was a first ballot HOFer losing 4. Marino was as well losing his only 1. Favre went 1-1. Elway & Manning combined went 4-5! Brady having himself gone 5-3 up through last night, or even 5-4 had they lost, in a league where only 1 QB has ever even just PLAYED in Super Bowls let alone WIN 5, you're telling me Brady still had to win another one to qualify? Why didn't Jordan have to win 11 to qualify? Because he was so dominant anyway in the regular season & post season. In one generation, Brady & Belichick have brought the Pats from 0 Super Bowls to tying the Steelers for most all time with 6. Other historic franchises like the Packers, Cowboys, 49ers, Giants, etc. have all been surpassed by just 1 generation of QB+HC. That's insane. Tom Brady will hit #2 all time in passing yards if he plays another full season next year (he's #4 now, only 1,400+ yards from #2 behind Brees), only needs 22 TD's to pass Peyton Manning for #1 all time (though he's 3 TD's behind Brees right now), is the winningest postseason QB of all time, has the most Superbowl MVP's of all time, has 3 regular season MVPs, and countless other records that shouldn't NEED a 6th Super Bowl win to be "shoulder to shoulder" with Jordan in NA sports. I hate the guy and can't wait until he finally friggin retires. But I know I'll never see something like this in my lifetime ever again and have to respect that. In the NFL, doing what he's done puts him shoulder to shoulder with Jordan easily, and that was before winning a 6th ring. People are willing to argue Lebron is shoulder to shoulder with Jordan, and even better than Jordan, and he only has 3 rings out of 9 trips! So how the hell is 6 the magic number for FOOTBALL, but 3 is ok for basketball? I dunno why I felt the need to rant about this, but man that argument was so stupid. I'll be THRILLED if the Bills have a QB that leads us to one Superbowl win....I can only imagine how it would feel to go 9 times and win 6.

13 years of playoff byes? I mean that just shows how dominant they've been in the regular season to EARN that spot. And there's always 3 other teams that have a first round bye, yet they didn't go to 9 Super Bowls, winning 6 of them, or play in over 2 full seasons worth of playoff games compiling a .750 win rate. Out of all teams that could be negatively effected by playing 1 extra game in the WC, it wouldn't be the Patriots. A Bye doesn't mean you just have it easy either. Look at Peyton Manning. He had 8 First Round Byes, and he was 3-5 in those games. The only Super Bowl he ever won was from the Wild Card spot in 2006. And Manning was considered one of the best, if not the best, QB of all-time talent & skill wise by many (until Brady just kept on winning even more Super Bowls). Edit: And btw, none of Manning's losses in the Divisional Round after having a 1st Round Bye came at the hands of the Patriots. He lost to: Dolphins ('00), Steelers ('05), Chargers ('07), Ravens ('12), and Colts ('14)

Not sure how many people watch these each year, Sean McDermott and a couple other Bills make an appearance in this one. This year's just came out a couple days ago and found it pretty amusing, maybe some of you will too.

ESPN 2019 Power Ranking; Bills... 29th
BigDingus replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Isn't that what we say every year? When a team goes nearly 2 decades without a playoff birth, then follows our first one up with what we did, what rational non-biased person would give us respect? We haven't EARNED any yet. -
You see their post season record right? Brady has a .750 POSTSEASON record! How often do you think he's playing against the AFC East in the postseason? The answer is twice in 40 games (both against the Jets). So at the very least, anywhere they were in the AFC they'd still be just as dominant. The real question is would the Bills have made the postseason more in another division? Because starting off your season with an automatic 0-2 handicap for the most part is a pretty tough hill to climb.

Pssssh! Screw that guy! He's just a couple months older than me, and he's on his 2nd season as a HC in the NFL & in the Super Bowl?! Makes me feel pretty insignificant for what I'm doing in my life... Man, where did I go wrong...

90s Bills legacy in serious jeopardy next year...
BigDingus replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Pats lose this Super Bowl, they'll have lost as many as we did...with the added bonus of having won 5 on top of it, and all with the same QB. I think that legacy already put a pretty big damper on ours -
Alex Smith Likely to miss all of 2019
BigDingus replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You ever see Willis McGahee's injury when playing for Miami? Theismann's injury & McGahee's injury are two of the nastiest looking injuries I've seen, yet many people say Smith's was worse. Because of that, I refuse to watch it. The idea of seeing something that horrific & painful just upsets my stomach even thinking about it. Really hope Smith makes a full recovery and can live out a long, happy & fulfilling life. -
Nah... As much as I hate to say it, the Bills were outclassed in every Super Bowl after losing to the Giants. Kelly & Co. never looked like the offense they were in the regular season in any of those next 3 Super Bowls, and we coughed up the ball so many times it would've been damn near impossible for ANY team to lose with that kind of turnover advantage. Thurman would get his 1 short yardage TD a game and do nothing else. Kelly would look like a deer in the headlights, then get laid out like said deer would standing in the road. And our key defensive players got run all over and couldn't make plays. Washington & Dallas's O-lines totally destroyed our pass rush. Still the best years this team has ever had in the NFL.
-
I mean sure, but the refs could've also called the obvious penalty. It wasn't even close to debatable. Lord knows if the Bills got screwed out of a Super Bowl we wouldn't just casually accept it & move on. There'd be rioting in the streets.

The NE post on here if you have good things to say thread
BigDingus replied to Bfanlc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only reason this thread doesn't need to exist is because what's left to say? Everything great to say has already been said countless times before. Tom Brady is far & away the best QB of all time. The fact he's about to start his 40th post season game is INSANE. That's 2.5 full seasons worth of games spent in the playoffs alone! He's played in the same amount of Super Bowls as the Bills have played post season games since 1993! He has WON more Super Bowls than anybody other QB has even BEEN to Super Bowls outside of Elway... I mean it was a hell of an accomplishment for Kelly to go to 4 straight, even though he lost them all. If the Pats lose this SB, Brady will have lost as many as Kelly, while simultaneously having the most wins ever too. All this in the Free Agency era too... But for what it's worth - F*** him. Maybe if he wins he'll finally retire and gtfo of the AFC East already! I'm sick of watching the Pats in the SB. I was hoping after nearly 20 years the Bills would have found a way to compete with them, as it'd be so much sweeter if we could actually rival the Brady-lead Pats, but at this point I'd take anything that'd knock the Pats off the top of the mountain, even if it is Brady retiring. -
The Inabilty to Draft a CB cost the Bills 4 Super Bowls
BigDingus replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It really wouldn't have changed much with the way our offense played after the first Super Bowl. The way the Bills turned the ball over was insane. Also, if Thurman ever played like the MVP level player he was in any of those games outside of the Giants game, we'd probably have won a SB or two (or at least had a better shot). XXVI - Thurman: 10 rushing attempts for 13 yards & 1 TD; 4 receptions for 27 yards Kenneth Davis: 4 rushing attempts for 17 yards; 4 receptions for 38 yards.......... Winner: Kevin Davis? Then again, fumbling the ball half a dozen times probably sealed their fate more than anything. XXVII - Thurman: 11 rushing attempts for 19 yards & 1 TD; 4 receptions for 10 yards, 1 fumble Kenneth Davis: 15 rushing attempts for 86 yards; 3 receptions for 16 yards...... Winner: Kenneth Davis? Again, turnovers killed us with 9 total! Kelly had 3, Reich had 4, Thurman had 1 and Tasker had 1. XXVIII - Thurman: 16 attempts for 37 yards & 1 TD; 7 receptions for 52 yards, 2 fumbles Kenneth Davis: 9 attempts for 38 yards, 3 receptions for -5 yards....... Winner: Thomas I guess, though he did awful too. But hey, the team only had 3 turnovers this game with Thurman being 2 of them! Big improvement! -
Was Mark Kelso the Best FS in Bills History?
BigDingus replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
C'mon man! I know of plenty of Bills players & trivia decades before my time, but there's a point where knowing all the good 60's players becomes too much for me! Lol I'm only 32, so half the Bills players I know of I haven't seen play anyway. -
Could JP Losman Help Rejuvenate Josh Rosen in AZ?
BigDingus replied to BillyWhiteShows's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When has lack of experience mattered much lately? The HC of that same team got hired after flaming out at his Alma Matter! People in this town LOVE Kingsbury & willing to give him a pass on pretty much everything...but the last two seasons made it more & more difficult to accept when it was obvious Tech was getting worse the longer Kingsbury stayed I still wish him the best, but his lack of experience already hurt him once, and it's not likely to get easier in the big leagues. JP may as well be his OC at this point. He's just as deserving as anyone else. -
Was Mark Kelso the Best FS in Bills History?
BigDingus replied to PUNT750's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Aaron Williams was getting pretty good until Jarvis Landry did Jarvis Landry things. Also, we have some an AFL safety on our Wall of Fame don't we? And Henry Jones was good, just don't remember if he was a Strong Safety or Free Safety or both. -
Mel Kiper Mocks — 1.0 DT Rashan Gary 2.0 DK Metcalf
BigDingus replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll cry if we go defense in the 1st round... Having the 2nd overall defense, and the 30th overall offense SHOULD make it obvious which side of the ball needs the most work. -
Taking on Blake bortles contract?????
BigDingus replied to Heff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah... I mean with a field that includes a guy with a 52.8% completion percentage, rushes more than a RB, threw more INT's than TD's, and had a 67.9 Passer Rating (52.3 QBR), along with greats like Matt Barkley & Derek Anderson, you're absolutely right! Stop the search everyone! The Bills have finally made it! How could we possibly get any better than that? -
Really? You think Brady or his wife could pay more money than Arthur Blank could pay? Blank is worth over $4.5 BILLION... I'm sure Brady & his wife couldn't sniff that if that if they tried.

Shady McCoy on ESPN First Take
BigDingus replied to End The Drought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dunno, the Giants showed you can beat the Pats when getting significant pressure on Brady. But I guess you could do what the Eagles did last year & just put up an insane amount of points despite Brady putting up over 500 yards & 3 TD's. -
"Ace sought to prove that Brady was a cheater through science. He wanted to show that deflated footballs gave Brady a competitive advantage. On his poster, he included the results of experiments he did with his mom and sister. Each of them threw footballs of varying inflation, and he measured the distance of each one and calculated the average. He found that the least inflated football traveled the farthest, therefore giving Brady a competitive advantage." Well if that's not definitive, I don't know what is! But seriously...the game was 17 to 7 at halftime, with Brady only throwing 1 TD & 1 INT. Then in the 2nd half after the balls were replaced with properly inflated ones, they outscored the Colts 28-0 with Brady throwing 2 TD's and 0 INT's... I don't any sane person would argue that inflating the footballs suddenly made Brady play worse, or that the Colts would've won had it not been for the air pressure in those balls. They got outplayed & out-coached thoroughly in the 2nd half, as seen by their whopping 0 points and the defense allowing 4 more TD's. Edit: I didn't realize the whole point of football is to see how far a ball can be thrown... It's must've been that deflated ball that resulted in Tom Brady's longest completion of the first half being 30 yards (which is obviously what made them win the game). Besides that one 30 yard pass, his next deepest pass was for 12 yards. What a cheater!!!!

You're right. Most teams say they're not going to reach, grab BPA, blah blah blah, but in reality they're factoring in NEED to all of that anyway, and ultimately going for who the BPA in the positions of most need. Very few teams have the luxury of grabbing the ACTUAL BPA round. Back in 2014 when the Bills had a loaded roster minus a QB, we very well could've went that route. We had studs all over the defense, offensive weapons, a solid O-line, a fantastic D-line, etc. but that one key piece was missing. Hopefully we can get back to that point some day, only this time with Josh Allen having the QB position secured.

As much as fans want the NFL to fail in LA, it'll at least be half-successful with the Rams for the foreseeable future. McVay & Goff aren't going anywhere for a long time, and once that state of the art stadium is complete, it'll be an attraction that no other franchise in the city can offer. And because we all know how bandwagony fans are, the Rams are fortunate to be good enough to attract those fans for the (re)founding years of the team. Sure, once the team starts losing the support will dwindle, but by that time they will have established an actual semblance of a dedicated fanbase. Keep in mind the only reason St. Louis had the Rams is because they left LA to begin with, so as bad as I feel for them, they can't act like relocation didn't help them as well hurt them. The Rams never won a Super Bowl in LA, but there they went & won a Super Bowl in St. Louis. It works both ways. I'd hate it, I really would. But if Buffalo only got their franchise due to an established team moving here, then it moved BACK to where it came from, I would make peace with it somehow.

I think Mahomes is so much better than Allen that it's not even funny, but I don't think McD & Beane would make this deal. And Mahomes being so great goes well beyond talent around him... The dude played like this in college without the talent around him, as seen by his W/L record compared to his stats & play in-game, then came into the league & put up HISTORIC numbers. There have been young QB's starting for the first time surrounded by great talent throughout NFL history, but Mahomes took that to another level. He outplayed seasoned all-pro Hall of Fame QB's, he did things people have never seen before (throwing no-look passes, switching hands mid-scramble & throwing a left handed pass for a 1st down, etc.) and did everything in his power to deliver the Chiefs an AFC Championship win. That's not just "good" or "great" play that can be glossed over, and being named MVP in his first season as a starter will be just another bullet point after his 5,000 yard, 50 TD, 318 yards per game season. We'll be lucky if Allen scores 50 passing TD's in 3 seasons as a starter, and if he ever breaks 4,000 yards passing in a season once. And a Bills QB being named MVP? Pretty much impossible. But I'll tell you one thing, if Allen delivers us a home AFC Championship playoff game like Mahomes did, I don't care what his stats are. All will be fine with me, and I'm sure McDermott & Beane would feel the same too. They've attached themselves to this horse, and they'll ride him to success or failure. If Allen pans out and Edmunds bombs, it'll still be ok for them. White has proven he's a top level corner, though anyone & everyone would take a top level QB over a CB. So really Edmunds & White don't matter in this scenario, it's all on Allen. If he can at least become a top 1/3 QB, I think Bills fans will be satisfied.
