I think Bosa has been good, has been better than Rousseau and Epanesa. That said it seems Bosa genuine likes it here in WNY and on the Bills, thats good going forward as hopefully he wants to stay a Bill

If Rousseau could just get into a higher gear, these two would wreak havoc. AJE can do some splash plays too from time to time. The Bills brass had it right - imagine Oliver and Hoecht playing!

I'd imagine Hoecht won't be available to mid season and even then usually first year back isn't very good.  I'd think an injury like that to a defensive lineman is even worse as they need to extra push and acceleration.

Agreed. People are quick to point out how this was one of Beane's bad FA signings but Von getting hurt couldn't have been foreseen

Bosa was signed to be a piece of the defense- when you loose main pieces like Oliver and Hoecht (believe it or not) it changes everything- none of them are great but as a unit they could of been a serviceable pass rush to good- Groot is a let down for sure - all he really does is set the edge

Von had 8 sacks in 12 games before the season ending injury. He was headed for double digits sacks…..some of you guys act like Von did absolutely 0 for us! 🙄

The Bills paid Von 47 million dollars for less than 4.5 sacks a season.   His signing is one of the worst in Bills history.   You can't separate the 8 sacks from the other two and a half years of play here.  By his 3rd season he was no longer starting.

Von should have been paid by the word instead of sacks.  Would have been a much better value.

Didn’t we pay him 12 million? What a world we live in when that’s “cheap” 😂

Vonn wouldve been 6 years 150m by comparison

Don't try facts on here.  It ruins their mood

While our run defense continues to give up huge plays, Bosa has definitely made impact plays while rushing the passer.  The 4th down play today was almost like another strip sack.  I wish we had one more healthy lineman that could generate pressure on any sort of consistent basis.

Dude was doubled and pushed around a lot today, but that tip at the last Patriot play is EXACTLY the big game impact you want.  In a sea of meh free agent signings, Joey has earned his keep … stay healthy big guy

Multiple wins that Bosa has sealed. The Chiefs and Pats. 2 very important games. Hopefully this carries into the postseason. He’s got that extra gear in the clutch.

The long 2nd half run that the D allowed was almost single handedly Bosa’s fault. Yep, he made a play at the end but man, he’s brutal at doing his job in the run game.

Groot looks so average, I wonder if the guys injured.

Had nothing to do with Bosa. Was entirely on Hairston and Epenesa for falling asleep at the wheel.

And Deone Walker for getting blatantly held on the cutback.

He has made a difference. What could have been if Hoecht played this season.

Definitely resign for next season. Feel he has a few more years on him to play at a great level.

It really is crazy to know how much we miss Hoecht with him only ever having played two games for the team. But, yeah, the energy and juice (no pun intended) alone that he brought on the field was infectious to his teammates. I can only dream of the stunts that he and Ed were running successfully in those games. He was a wildman out there.

Bosa has made a couple of big plays in each of the last two weeks to help win the game, or seal the victory. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a bit of an uptick in snap counts for Bosa come playoff time. On the season (prior to today), he has been getting an average of 64% of the defensive snaps. The four games prior to today, he was averaging a 61% snap count. Today, however, he played 75% of the defensive snap counts (playoff-level type of game). The only other games he topped 70% snap counts this year was vs. Miami (1st matchup), New Orleans, and K.C (he played 86.9% of snaps in that Miami game). Wouldn't be surprised to see his playoff snaps be closer to 73-75%, rather than 61-64%.

Von was never great here from day one of the signing to the day he was cut, a huge overpay and colossal mistake by Beane like most of his free agent signings, contracts and draft picks, with the exception of a few.

Bosa on the other hand has been a pleasant surprise and has played almost the whole season thus far.

Yes, because they are completely comparable signings 👎. That contract set the Bills back big time cap wise. It was a dumb signing then, and it still is. He was damaged goods.

I think Bosa is inconsistent just because he was playing so much.  He has been injured for the last few seasons, now he’s playing a ton and he’s 31 I believe.

We need more help at DE to give him more breaks.  Was hoping that would be Solomon but looks like he’s just a special teamer.  Jackson out for the year.  TJ Sanders playing DE just to give Bosa a breather.  Our DE depth has a massive hole at #4.
