I mean he looks awesome! So idk. I think it's safe to assume at minimum he'll be a solid player. But he's playing at an extremely high level right now

McDermott really is a whisper with defensive backs who buy in to him 

 

His mixture of football talent football IQ and athleticism I think is going to actually propel him past those two guys who were studs 

 

But we always said the sum of those two parts with poyer and hyde and how they grew with McDermott was a massive part for their success.. individually maybe not all pro caliber, playing besides each other they were a All-Pro Duo

 

Cole is going to hit like poyer, runs faster than Micah, has hands , can jump... Individually he screams future high-end safety

 

Sky is the limit with his age and athleticism and football IQ

Just instincts. He has a great feel and intuition. It's the most important trait to be a great defensive back. Either you got it or you don't and it's looking like he's got it. Proud of him.

Athletically,  he can be as good as anyone.  It's just a matter of his instincts and his understanding of his role in the system.

And this is why judging the teams chances to win it all in sept and October is comical.  Injuries and player/coaching progressions and how they adapt is more important than anything happening in those months imo.  Lots changes throughout the season

I think it is pretty high. The issue was a pretty low floor and until JoPo got in alongide him that is what we got. But no question - Bish has been great the last 4 or 5 games. Very optimistic now for his future. 

 

Bishop, Benford and Hairston is three nice young building blocks in that secondary.

This really seems to be the key. For me at least.

Even better than Poyer raising the guys back there with Him ? he is playing pretty solid football himself

He's playing well when Lewis subs in for Poyer too though... I'm not saying Poyer definitely isn't the reason, but shouldn't his play drop significantly on passing downs when Lewis comes in then? 

 

Could it be just that something clicked for him and coincided when Poyer started playing, or maybe more that Rapp was the issue and brining in any replacement level player would have facilitated Bishop's ability to only have to think about his role and not covering for Rapp?
