The rest of the oline was pretty good.

I thought it was their worst game of the year; although that doesn't necessarily mean they were "bad".

It kind of shows what one weak link in the line can do to disrupt things. Torrence wasn't great and that caused problems.

But, I am not an oline expert. It is just what I see with my untrained eyes and trusting what Joe Marino and others who watched the tape have said.

Was definitely their worst game of the year.

Agreed this is a pure LAMP without any actual breakdowns or links.

Philosophical question …

Is a post that adds little value except to point out that another post adds little value also LAMP?

And, if so, is this post that adds little value except to point out that your post had little value except to point out that his post had little value … and so on.

I have been listening to All-22 breakdowns of the Saints games from a few sources not just my favorites and it seems Ryan Van Demark had a really solid game.

I made some snap judgements about his play during the game and taking it all back and eating my humble pie.

Seems that all in all the kid did a great job out there and I am glad for him. With Grable on IR we are a bit thin with quality depth with our swing tackles and he was an ascending player not that long ago.

He excelling in the run game? He had problems in pass block all game. He whiffed while pulling on the dumb dumb 4th and 2 play call... that's all I remember. Would love to hear i missed a lot of good!

I didnt have any complaints for a backup getting his first start of the year. Not shocked Kromer squeezing outta him whatever he has to offer. Our most important coach after Sean!!

Speaking of Torrence he got smoked by that DT that lined up more in the B gap, but crossed his face on an inside A gap move right into Allen. Torrence really overset on that one, but overall our O-line is pretty solid.

Trying to price himself back onto the team for 2026?! Who the hell would wanna miss new stadium opener!!!

Torrence leaves me wanting a bit more, but for a kid they started as a rookie and played every snap that season, and for his solid work last season, he has provided a lot of value at a team-friendly price.

With that whiff I think teams will have their DT line up wide on that B-gap then attack the A-gap to keep McGovern and Torrence from setting a double. Bonus if O'Cyrus takes an outside set and opens that lane with no center help. Teams have caught us a few times with that stunt.

I didn't give him grief for that one; that was more on Torrence, imo.

That's the second week in a row he's gotten beat on that outside/in move that he struggled so badly with as a rookie.

I really thought he had solved that issue last year.

Going back to my ball knowledge I think most of our IOL struggles with the same thing we struggled with 4-5 years ago (or so). We were light in the loafers and instead of using agility and skill we blasted straight ahead with in line blocking man schemes.

We have tried to get zone blocking to work.

However, our struggles relate to yesteryear because now we are bigger but not agile enough. Strangley the team that didn't hold much, didn't get beat much, and didn't get blown off the ball is now getting danced around and beaten.

We truly need zone coverage ability in our OL to defeat this.

How come it says you joined in 2018?

Changed my handle a few times.

Was LeftOverture for a long time, I think ColdBlueNorth for a while and maybe a few others that I dropped after I got bored with them.

Dating myself but first started posting when this was a board on the Rochester D&C back in the Jurassic days of internet and dial-up connections (if that level of tech does not resonate with you then enjoy your youth). Life can get a bit hectic but always find myself coming back to TBD at some point during each season.

This has always been a great place for Bills fans to connect each season and has aged well.

In pass pro, perhaps. Van Demark had some hiccups, but fairly solid otherwise for a back up tackle. Cook did have 100yds midway through the 3rd.

I thought the same thing, but the one that got around him Allen had a lot of time and kept patting the ball.

Josh has been better about being decisive and getting the ball out, but he held on to a few a bit longer than usual. Ryan did a heck of a job on run blocking too and the one pull where he fell Torrence took a big step backwards with his right foot and tripped him up. That I think is more about having reps with the other o-linemen to get a feel for their sets.

Speaking of Torrence he got smoked by that DT that lined up more in the B gap, but crossed his face on an inside A gap move right into Allen. Torrence really overset on that one, but overall our O-line is pretty solid.

That was granderson a DE and their sack leader that roasted him. Tough match up for Torrence as it’s an obvious passing down and they purposefully tested his speed with that match up. He over set and was dusted. Cybo is great in the run game and no one goes through him. But he does give up the edges.

Looked like he gave up a couple sacks and completely whiffed on the 4th down hand off to Shakir. I'm sure it's hard to come in and play flawless in that situation, so some of his mistakes are probably forgivable, but I don't think an apology thread is necessary.

On the 4th down hand off to Shakir, Van Demark got stepped on.

For the 18th time, as pointed out on the broadcast, one of his fellow linemen tripped him on that play.

Bills do like Grable and he’s just returning from a concussion.  Given the lack of available options at RT around the league, it makes you wonder if they’d consider trading RVD.  Then again, he has performed well whenever Brown has missed time

I didn't focus on Torrence at all, but do agree with those that say that it was the worst the oline has performed this year.

That being said, I remember Van Der Mark getting beat clean off the edge at least a few times. If his run blocking was as good as Marino points out, than maybe he becomes the 6th lineman, when we're  not using Hawes.

Was listening to Locked on Bills All-22 review.  Joe mentioned that the 3-sacks were not due to the OL.

*. 1st one - Josh did not step into the pocket and Jordan as able to loop around and make the play

*.2nd one -  3rd and 35.....enough said

* 3rd one -  Josh tried to run the ball and was stopped before the LoS
