Agreed. Stack loses for KC before they get healthy. There’s no right answer to this but increasing the chances KC doesn’t win division and get a home playoff game is a good start. Baltimore is very likely to win the North no matter the outcome of this week.

First off, I am not rooting for either of these teams to win.  The teams and their fans are both toxic.  That said, a loss for either of them is a great thing.

So, what is the right way to look at it given this?  The first thing I think about is if one of these teams loses and gets their 3rd loss in 4 weeks, is it possible to find 5 more losses on either of their schedule so they can potentially miss the Playoffs all together?

REMAINING CHIEFS SCHEDULE:

Week 5 10/6 at Jacksonville Jaguars

* Week 6 10/12 vs Detroit Lions

Week 7 10/19 vs Las Vegas Raiders

Week 8 10/27 vs Washington Commanders

* Week 9 11/2 at Buffalo Bills

Week 10 BYE WEEK

* Week 11 11/16 at Denver Broncos

Week 12 11/23 vs Indianapolis Colts

Week 13 11/27 at Dallas Cowboys

Week 14 12/7 vs Houston Texans

* Week 15 12/14 vs Los Angeles Chargers

Week 16 12/21 at Tennessee Titans

Week 17 12/25 vs Denver Broncos

Week 18 TBD at Las Vegas Raiders

REMAINING RAVEN'S SCHEDULE:

Week 5 Sun, Oct 5 vs Houston

* Week 6 Sun, Oct 12 vs Los Angeles

Week 7 BYE WEEK

Week 8 Sun, Oct 26 vs Chicago

Week 9 Thu, Oct 30 @ Miami

Week 10 Sun, Nov 9 @ Minnesota

Week 11 Sun, Nov 16 @ Cleveland

Week 12 Sun, Nov 23 vs New York

Week 13 Thu, Nov 27 vs Cincinnati

Week 14 Sun, Dec 7 vs Pittsburgh

Week 15 Sun, Dec 14 @ Cincinnati

Week 16 Sun, Dec 21 vs New England

* Week 17 TBD - Flex Game @ Green Bay

Week 18 TBD - Flex Game @ Pittsburgh

The * shows the games I think each team has a realistic chance to lose.  Now, of course neither team is probably going to lose all of them.  But on the surface, it looks like finding the Chiefs 5 more losses after this week is a lot more feasible than finding the Ravens 5 more losses.  In fact, I will find it had to believe the Ravens will lose more than 3 times after this week at most.

So, what do we want?  Do we want the Chiefs to lose and perhaps have a chance of them missing the playoffs entirely or do we want the Ravens to lose and give us a bit more comfort and breathing room for a possible 1 seed run where their schedule gets dramatically easier as the season goes along?  It's kind of a tough choice.  I'd love to have a chance to bury the Chiefs and have them potentially not even make the Playoffs, but the Ravens schedule is a cake walk for the majority of it.  Sure, we have the tie breaker, but man, they could pile up some serious wins after the next couple weeks and make this uncomfortable down the stretch if we slip up.

you don’t think there’s a realistic chance that KC loses to Washington or Indy?

Or Baltimore losing to -any- of their AFCN rivals, or Minnesota?

The Ravens.

I'm just so sick of the ego that fan base has. And the nonstop s*** talking of Allen & trying to discredit his MVP season is ridiculous.

They've been sharing clips of Chris Jones recently saying Lamar should've been MVP & saying "see, this is why we respect the Chiefs & not the Bills..." as if CJ didn't say the exact same thing about Allen just 6 months ago.

And don't get me started on how much hype they invest in passer rating...  John Elway had a career 79.9 passer rating! It's not a serious stat! If you can throw a TD pass & have your passer rating can go DOWN, it's not as valuable a stat as Ravens fans make it out to be.

As of now, no....I don't think KC loses at home to either of those teams.  Call me crazy, but I am not sold on DJ all of a sudden becoming the second coming of Josh Allen.  I need to see a little more from them before I take them seriously.  Washington is really inconsistent as well.  Could they lose to these teams?  Of course, any given Sunday, right?  But I don't see it as of now especially when the get their WR room back at full strength.

The Ravens just blew out the Browns.  They always beat Pittsburgh it seems although they could be tougher games if the Steelers get their defense right.  And the Bengals don't have a QB and may not for either of these games.  I am sure the Ravens will lose a couple of games, but after the Chiefs game, I can't find 5 losses.  You could maybe get me to 4 more, but I don't see them losing 5 more times with the talent on their roster.

In a hypothetical 3 team race using 10^5+ Monte Carlo odds for the #1 seed, if KC wins our odds are 76%, if BAL wins our odds are 79. I will take a 3% point increase every week!

I wonder if he'll be back at all this season. He was their best DL, without him an already thin group becomes a real liability.

Why should it matter? If the Bills are a champion-caliber team, it’s up to them to win the games they should and not depend on the other guys. They’re not ‘in the hunt’. They’re in the driver seat and control their own destiny.

I think the Chiefs are toast this year regardless.  I root for any loss that can be inflicted on the Ravens in this soft  schedule, that just got a lot softer with the loss of Burrow to the Bengals.  In addition to those you marked, I think the Browns will give them a tough time in Cleveland, and both MN and Pitt have a reasonable chance to beat them at home.

They won't be missing the playoffs, as much as we'd like to see that. There's a part of me that would love to see us slay the dragon ourselves in the playoffs.

For me too, but I so do detest those blackbirds and their all black uniforms and their purple palace.

You never know, if they lose this game and go to 1-4. they still play the Bills and have a tough division.

Ravens are 2/3rds down on their DLINE..  Fully expect the Chiefs to try and run on them today..  The other dude on the DLINE is questionable.  Detroit not only beat them, but they beat them up too..
