I think that is harsh on Daquan. I have thought he was washed for over a year, but he was fine last night.

Agreed. I just said it in other thread after all-22. DJ was very good vs Miami, and so was Sanders, who was double teamed constantly. This thread doesn't make sense.

I’m not worried about any of the rookies yet, it’s too early..

I’m officially worried about Kaden Prather.

I think it's tough for a lot of people to pick up both what and how DT's are actually doing while watching live.

I feel like DaQuan has been really reliable and pacing himself smartly so far this year, particularly with the noticeably high number of snaps he's being asked to play. He's been on the field a LOT, aside from the 2nd half of the Jets game.

Right. So has hawes and Walker. Sanders getting even more playing time (I think) w Ed out for 2 games. And just haven’t noticed him. At all. Somewhat concerning for a 2nd round pick no?

Just pretend we drafted Hawes and Walker in the 2nd and 3rd rounds and you’ll feel better

Yeah, the Jackson pick is concerning. The guy just looks too stiff for the NFL. Not sure what can be done with him, but I'm thinking he needs at least an entire year of work before there's any hope of him seeing meaningful playing time.

Dude is RAWWWW. He does not seem like a natural born football player, despite freak traits.  Also is the ultimate lunchbox/high-motor guy (not just visually)!  I've seen some early clips of him in college, and he looked like he had never met a coach and only thrived in HS on a CRAZYYY frame.

Frankenstein stength and size probably let him glide through without refining his game.

The transformation he over went while playing in a Power4 Conference, is nothing short of a miracle.  99/100 times this type of guy is swallowed alive, or quits, at that level.  Has to be one of, if not, THE  largest transformations of anybody drafted this year.  Unfathomable amounts of work mustve gone in to make this happen.

I know this reads so far, like a knock on him, but being able to do that tells me he can/will do it again.  Beane took a low floor/ultimate ceiling risk on this dude, and I'd bet anything it pays off.  Anybody taking him was committing to an NFL red shirt! Fully expect a Spencer Brown type curve (dude played 7 on 7 in HS ball).  Top 15-20 at his position player by end of next year, and a guy pushing for 1st/2nd team All-Pro by year 3.  Patience folks!!!

Maybe stop being so concerned about everything and just watch the games.

Fans don't always understand D-line play if guys aren't making splashy plays. I'm guilty of that sometimes. I think if a DT doesn't get sacks and TFL's and the team gives up some rushing yards over the middle people just assume the DT's didn't play well. Could be true some of the time but isn't always true either.

Seriously — I don’t post here much but have been lurking for a long time, and sometimes I wonder whether posters actually watched the same game.

I cannot stop this thought from running through my head at least 10 times a week during the season.

Seems like it typically takes some time for DL not drafted in the top 5 or so to hit.

Look across the field at Kenneth Grant, a guy 90% of us wanted… dude has been getting washed out all over the place for Miami so far this year.
