They are not going to rush this, as they shouldn't.  I think the earliest we possibly see him is after the Bye.

He hasn't played great anyway so far this season. Wish we had a little bit better depth there. I'm guessing Buffalo Joe is now the full time starter until Shaq Thompson is healthy. Next man up!

You think Andreesen leaps past Williams, Milano's obvious understudy, who already replaced Milano on the field last week? Instead the Bills will field 2 MLBs against a team that likes to get defensive 2nd levels on the move laterally and then attack the gaps and windows between and behind those downhill-minded defenders?

I wouldn't take the Bills depth chart too seriously.  They historically reflect a need to put all 53 names somewhere on a depth chart rather than who is actually "next man up".   Showing Shaq Thompson as Milano's backup, Buffalo Joe as Bernards backup, and Dorian Williams marooned at the rare 3rd LB sighting position may or may not reflect what will actually happen.

I see Williams as more of a strong side LBer in a 3-4 than a starting coverage LBer in the Bills nickel defense. He looks slower than Buffalo Joe on the field and was pretty bad in coverage last year.

If Milano is out for a long time and Williams replaces him as coverage LBer, he's going to get picked on a lot.

yea, otherwise there's absolutely no point in trading. We can dumpster dive off our own depth chart. Ideally, they'd get a top 10 guy.

When they bring three linebackers in maybe.  Williams and Bernard played the majority of the season together last year.

I agree....at this point just shut him down till the end of the season.  Let him play week 17 as a tune up game.  And just pray that we can get 3 playoff games out of him before he has his 10th pec injury. We're basically paying 6.3M for 3-4 playoff games.  I'm so disappointed in how easily our defensive players get hurt.

He's been wrecked by injuries the last couple years and has already been banged up here as well, so it's hard to tell what we can really expect from him at this point.

I’m in the pro Dorian crowd. I think he’ll start and do just fine. At this stage of their careers, he is faster than MM. 

 

And I think West Point Jimmy gets a call up for this game (if Shaq T isn’t ready). Seeing him and Buffalo Joe on the field at the same time—there’s your next Hallmark movie 🍿 😁

Dorian Williams is the 2nd fastest player on starting defense right now(Cole Bishop). Was the fastest last year.

Not surprised in the least. I was actually waiting for it, i figured within a month.

 

I’m so done with Milano, great player when he was healthy but is durable as paper mache in a downpour. We should have cut ties when he had a bit of value.

 

Bring the West Point kid up to backfill.

We need our best coverage LB backup with Miami's quick hitting slants and intermediate routes. I think that is Williams.

Coverage is Williams weak spot. It is also Andreesens though. Shaq is the best coverage backer that is a backup, but I don't think he will be ready to play. 

 

Williams will see the field a lot this week in Milanos absence, but not because of his coverage prowess.
