wjag Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Thursday night games are really unfair to the traveling team. Their work week gets compressed even further when you have to travel Wednesday after playing Sunday. So Monday is a film day. Tuesday is off. Wednesday, hop on the plane. How can they possible do any game planning? 1 2 Quote

Also, after watching the Bills game and checking in on the Dolphins game, I think it might be possible that 3 of the worst 6 teams might be in the AFC East. 1 Quote

AI response: When a team plays on the road for Thursday Night Football (TNF), its weekly schedule is compressed and travel is expedited to account for the short turnaround. The priority is on rest and mental preparation, since a full week's worth of physical practice is not possible. Short-week travel schedule (Sunday game to TNF) The following schedule details the typical week for a team playing a Sunday game and then traveling for a Thursday night game. Sunday: The team plays its Sunday game and then flies immediately home afterward, even for late games. Monday: Players report to the team facility for a light workout, physical rehabilitation, and film review of the Sunday game. This is normally a full off-day during a typical week. Tuesday: The coaches work on the new game plan, while players are given the day off. Injured players receive treatment. Wednesday: In a normal week, this is a heavy practice day for the installation of the game plan. On a short week, Wednesday is the final day of practice, and the team will use a charter flight to travel to the game's host city. Thursday: Players have a morning walk-through at the hotel. The team travels to the stadium for the evening game. After the game, the team flies directly back home. 2 Quote
No_Matter_What Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Was watching All-22 of the first half of Jets game. My random thoughts: Wilson beat Benford for solid gain on 3rd down in Jets first drive but Field missed him completely. Javon Solomon lined inside on 3rd and longs couple times. On his first carry on 3&2 Ray Davis went wrong direction and instead hitting a hole for 5-15y gain he ran to the wall for 1y. He was fine on 4th down. Brown and Torrence are amazing blockers. On Josh's first grounding he had Palmer open enough imo for the TD but it required perfect ball placement and Josh didn't pull the trigger. Cook running was a piece of beauty. Knox and Kincaid back to back drops less so. Sam Franklin knows his ST tackles lol. Josh was a little of in the 1st Q, he missed open Shavers and then Kincaid TD, but the latter was not an easy throw. On Hall's single longer run both Milano and Bernard were blocked but then Hall met Bishop who was in perfect position. Other than that, both Milano and Bernard had good games. So did Cam Lewis and Dorian Williams imo. Really sucks that Milano was injured again. Trubisky was hero of the day with that throw to Palmer when Josh got hurt. The line blocked really well too. Walker and Sanders were good. Nothing flashy, but just solid work. Sanders was close to a sack. I liked what I saw from Coleman. Couple good catches, his OPI was close, and he had one really good scramble drill where Josh just pump faked instead of throwing to him and it was a mistake, could've been nice gain. 8 1 Quote

Thee players don't do the Monday film study, only the staff does, at least the Bills, and travel days include team activities. It doesn't take a full full day to travel, and game day has plenty of game day stuff. In short, they are not lost days. Quote
Shortchaz Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Must take care of business this week. Dolphins will be desperate, can’t give them hope. Quote
mannc Posted September 15 Posted September 15 I don’t give the fish much of a chance to win Thursday night, but I do think they will come out fighting and give the Bills a tougher battle than many expect. They are going to be a desperate team, and a desperate team is often a dangerous one…it’s also possible that DJ Mike has already lost the locker room and the team doesn’t show up at all… 1 Quote
Rockinon Posted September 15 Posted September 15 (edited) Wow. Our Dline is going to feast on sacks. Miami is going to have to depend on the running game and Tua is going to need to get rid of the ball fast. It's funny how everyone thought the Jets were going to give us a game, but no one is saying that about this Dolphins game. If it wasn't for all the injuries to their Oline, I'd think they put up a good fight. I don't think they have the horses, though. Tua is good at getting the ball out fast, but Buffalo's defense and many other teams have found ways to disrupt those quick timing routes. It puts pressure on Tua and forces him to hold the ball longer than he wants to. All I can see is sacks. Lots of them. Unless their "wizard" coach finds something to exploit in our defense. I suppose it could happen....nah, not buying it. Edited September 15 by Rockinon Quote

The way McDaniel sounded after the last game (and yes I know he always sounds like he's... enhanced) it feels like he's lost the locker room and knows it. Plus they're battling some key injuries, we seem to have completely solved Tua, Josh owns the Phins (especially at home)... What a start if we can put this away early like the Jets and use the mini-bye to get guys healthy. We have our own key injuries and they would have come at "the right time". 1 1 Quote
