holla83 Posted Thursday at 08:49 PM Posted Thursday at 08:49 PM Did he get a million plus out of the Raiders like Anquan Boldin got from the Bills? Quote

Im not sure if you think we will be hurt by week and need WR's or just wishing it... or is it cause you do not like who we have? Davis will be called in well before any phone call is made to Cooper. The dude wants to retire a Raider.. so be it. You may be the only one who defends their pukes like a man. Good for you. Every WR on that roster is a limited option. Cooper may be shot...but after seeing Buffalo bring back Phillips, Poyer, and Gabe Davis back in short succession it's not surprising they'd call back a guy who they liked last year. The WR group is a hodge-podge of underwhelming. No one is opening things up for anyone. Not Palmer and not Coleman at this point in his career despite the hype-machine in full force this off-season. 1 Quote

NFL teams screw players constantly. And the fans hate most of their own players. The players dont owe anyone anything in my opinion. 2 Quote
Chicken Boo Posted Thursday at 09:31 PM Posted Thursday at 09:31 PM The year before he got to Buffalo, he had 72 rec for 1250 yards 17.4ypc. Quote

Timing is bad, but as other posters have suggested, wear and tear on the body. Physically, mentally, it all just came to a head. 2 Quote

Screwing the Raiders would be showing up and going through the motions all year to collect a paycheck. Walking away now was the best thing he could have done for them. 3 3 Quote
TheBrownBear Posted Thursday at 10:11 PM Posted Thursday at 10:11 PM I got the sense that he enjoyed the culture, teammates and fans in Buffalo, but he no longer enjoyed the football itself. 2 Quote

We have a better group of WR's this year then last year.. and how that work out? Just saying.. Quote

HappyDays Posted Thursday at 11:26 PM Posted Thursday at 11:26 PM Raiders are going to have to play Navy football for that offense to function. They only have 4 WRs on the roster, and Jakobi Meyers is the only one worth a damn. Quote

Definitely, there was an anonymous source saying Coop was done, mentally and physically this off season.. I liked the trade at the time, just didn't work out, he checked out , it made sense but even a struggling Keon got reps over him Quote

But sounds like he got to camp, looked around, saw a mess in the Raiders and said nahhhhhhh. Im a Beane maxi, but this feels a little incriminating on that trade last year. Maybe thats just the way a trade USUALLY works..... anybody think Beane had a chance to speak with Coop before signing off on that deal? Or is thjat usually a no-go? Aside from sign-n-trade kinda deals, needing the OK from current team. Will teams usually OK a chance for a GM to talk to a prospective player? Or is that generally a no-go? There was not a lot of risk with Cooper trade though, cost us under a million. And I am sure Cooper didn't say "I dont feel like playing anymore" to him before we traded for him either. He was probably excited to get out of Cleveland. But he has never been a guy who really ever just "wanted" it - in terms of being the best. He was always a boom or bust guy week to week most of his career. Huge games a few times a year made his stats look good by years end, but weekly, he wasn't that guy who just had that edge or fire every week. Edited Friday at 12:02 AM by Alphadawg7 Quote

Amari Cooper was a good NFL receiver. But he had the ability to be even better and never achieved that. 2 Quote

Those vets are largely washed up and if their presence is to push the younger players it's not a good thing. I'll agree the 2025 WRs to start the season are better than those to start 2024. But it's a low bar...especially after the 2024 group's inability to get open almost got Josh KO'd in the Baltimore game. We're talking world record limbo bar low. Too many if's, hopefully's, and maybe's heading into the season that, once again, people are banking on Josh to raise their production. Edited Friday at 12:45 AM by BillsVet 1 Quote
