I said he looks fine playing with other starters (last year vs. Steelers in PS). Which he’s not tonight. He didn’t look good on the first drive to be clear. 
 

He’ll likely look replacement level when he’s playing with mostly replacement level players.

I honestly don’t know if it matters who we have on the DL if we cannot cover. Yes I know it’s all preseason but it is a recurring issue. Too much cushion.

Most of the people on right now are trying to be the primary backups. I don't think it's wrong to ask them to make a play occasionally.  Particularly the D-Line where we know they rotate in heavily throughout the game. Win your individual battle, make a tackle, get a pressure, God forbid touch the QB.

Yes they will. Bills historically like to sub 3-4 D line starters out at a time for 3-6 plays in a row.

Guaranteed You will see those 4 that started tonight playing at the same time this season.

That's not how McDermott and Babich are going to see it. Bishop took a terrible angle in coverage and gave up a TD. Guys up front are not getting any push. You can't act like these reps are totally unimportant, if they were the coaches wouldn't bother dressing anyone that will make the roster.

I imagine the reps are important but as babich said in the pregame show all they are working on in these games is fundamentals and he said they keep the defense simple and just run plays.

 

bishop was in man to man at the line of scrimmage and they switched and he was chasing.  He is not a safety that is going to walk down in the box and play guys man to man at the line of scrimmage.

Conversely, the Bills may want to get a good idea who to pick between White and Trubiskey and want the Bears to bring a little heat to simulate a real game situation.

Maybe i tend to think we are seeing the same old defense we saw last year soft no coverage terrible saftey play no pass rush give up big 3rd downs and genuinely uninterested in stopping any one ever.. backups have learned well
