Bills vs Bears Updates

Okay, maybe I'm missing something but why no updates on the Bills/Bears joint practice?  I went over to the Bears website, and they have extensive coverage of the practice.  Of course they are very prejudiced, so I'd like something Bills oriented.

Yeah the only thing i saw was that the Bears D had a very good 7 on 7, breaking up plays and intercepting Allen once.

Seems like bills dominated much of it. Red zone. 2 min drill. 
 

sound alike bears OL sucks. Bosa sacked Caleb / by shoving him to the ground. And no one came to Caleb’s defense - lol

White got beat on a slant that went 40 yards for a TD.  

 

that doesn't sound great.  Its one play in a practice but still seems like a bunch of people have to make mistake to give up a slant that goes to the house.

One of the Bears reports said it was a Mesh concept. Tre likely got picked by the other crossing route.

If your CB or LB is screened/picked on a slant you often have 0-1 guys to beat (safety).

Didn’t the Bears dominate the Dolphins in their joint practice? Good to see the Bills were the better team today with all things considered.

Getting concerned about the Bills starting Tre White as CB2, especially with Max Hairston being injured. I’ve always liked Tre and hoped he could rebound from his injuries, but so far, the reports about Tre getting burnt regularly are getting worrisome.

I’ve heard Tre has had a strong camp. 🤷🏼

We still have options in Dane Jackson, Dorian Strong etc. etc.

Heard that as well, but he didn’t look good against the Giants and sounds like he struggled today against the Bears. Hopefully it’s just due to the fact that the Bills are playing it vanilla this time of year and aren’t showing much of their plays.

I was convinced that Caleb Williams was going to be the offensive rookie of the year after the Bills vs. Bears preseason game last year... I wouldn't put too much stock into the Bears O making a few plays out there. But our Defense also had warts last year, so, I don't know. Hairston being able to come in and take over the that #2 CB spot is likely going to be the story this year.

Yup, an old slow CB can't do the job.  I am thinking about..Josh Norman, Vontae Davis.....etc etc.  McD likes old and takes slow as the penality.

If it was cover zero it's one on one across the board and there's nobody else to make a tackle if Tre doesn't 

 

This is the time to try coverages and see how they work they're probably trying out more aggressive coverages to see how they handle them

This may be the most heartening thing I've seen of any preseason report this year.  Physicality goes a long way for wins in the playoffs

Hairston and Strong likely need to contribute this year imo. Hairston for sure, and I hate to think what happens if Benford misses a game.
