32 scenarios a round! At least!

Actually FAR more the way team jump around. The fact is, if the 4-5 teams in front of you love their guy, it’s probably not prudent to pay them what it would take to get them to move. IF they are willing to move at all. We were never moving up 20+ slots. We were working in a relatively small closet of a few spots, and on a clock.

I wasn't in the room.

"Walter Cherepinsky of WalterFootball" - 🙄 Come on now.

I've never heard of this guy. Looking him up, he seems to be a fantasy football guy, and not an analyst. He also apparently said that women shouldn't be allowed to vote. Sounds like a guy who's really got it all figured out.

Maybe Beane should check players Madden ratings? 😂

“Der Der Madden Der Der….”

Eight draft classes to surround Josh Allen with weapons and in 50+ draft picks he got James Cook and Khalil Shakir… I mean, I guess only in a fantasy video game could one fathom to possibly somehow manage to draft another WR or two worth a 💩 in the better part of a decade…

Beane is definitely a top tier GM. Doesn’t make him perfect, I think his approach to drafting WRs, or lack thereof, is flawed.  Personally, I’d rather draft guys in the first 3 rounds rather than pay “jags” like Samuel 7-9million a year.

Ok so how did a thread on signing Cook turn into a turd session about pissing and moaning over WR's?

I don't know whats worse - this being discussed in a thread about Cook or your rant that it seems WR's can only be drafted despite the fact we traded for Diggs who was a top 5 WR for most of Allens first 4 years of his prime.

What if the Bills really started at $10m and Cook really asked for $15m. Is it possible these last months were actually used to save $500k from a “split the difference” agreement?

🤨

I think those are the likely starting points. I'd imagine with the Bills already tight on cap, it took some doing to get Beane up to $12M, and then an even heavier lift on getting the guaranteed money up. I'd also be interested in hearing if Beane started at 3 years and came up to 4, and how the Cook camp felt about that (there's pros and cons for both sides).

We'll never know any of it tho.

Glad it’s done. I thought it likely a deal was already finalized when I saw that Cook came back to practice. Not pleased that his hold in worked, but that’s life in the NFL. I will hold off on judging the contract until I see the details.

It was the most innocuous hold in/out ever.

 The idiot from Walter Football? An analyst?

Idiot?  Yes, but he's probably wealthy from the revenue all the pop up ads on his web site have brought him over the years.
