Bills actually have a lot of good camp battles this year. If they focus on those it should be interesting TV. If they focus on Allen's fiancee, turkey burgers, and what color coat Hairston is wearing it will be less interesting (to me anyway).

Yes, you need HBO or HBO streaming via the Max app.  It is a pay service.   The usual cadence is to release an episode weekly covering the previous week's training camp.  So I would imagine the first episode would be in early August.

The NFL had to do it as the current Buffalo Bills are arguably "Americas team" as most NFL fans like/love this team. Heck the QB is dating and will marry a movie star. 

 

What the NFL wants is to promote the league and what better way to do just that with a team that most are interested in. To those that don't know much about the Buffalo Bills this might show the world what most Bills fans already know. The Brotherhood, the process, the culture, the love! Be good, do good, god Bless and go Bills!

It's clearly obvious Rich Eisen does not know about the rule change.  "This is not from the list of teams that get forced to do it"  no Rich, playoff teams can get forced to appear now. And if this is upsetting to you, maybe go outside and get some fresh air because that's crazy.

I would bet that beane appearance with Jeremy and Joe about wr will be in the first episode.  The camera I imagine have been there already for awhile.  
 

there is zero upside to being on the show.  It will put a target on the bills back and someone will say or do something that will end up being talked about nationally and become an issue.  It always does.

We already have a target on our back...thats what happens when you're consistently good.

 

Keon says goofy sh*t all the time, but hes a no nonsense football player.  He's not a concern.

 

McD will find a way to make this have "upside", thats what good coaches do.  Higher focus, the national scrutiny, etc-- easy to flip the script and use this as motivation to show the country what kind of organization the Bills have.

last years hard knocks with the bears was really bad.  It was boring and uninteresting.  Hopefully the bills version will be stories about the international player trying to stick on the practice squad, chicken wings and boring meetings with coaches.  That would be nice and not cause any issues.

 

one thing that will happen is Dawkins will be either loved or hated nationally by the end of it because he is a character.   I wonder if they went with him in the offseason to that weird car racing thing he does.  That is perfect fodder for the show.

 

 

This will sound like a total homer statement, but Bills have a real shot to be the best HK season ever or one of the best because the team top to bottom has fun lovable characters.  From leaders and vets like Beane, Allen, Dawkins, Tre, etc to young guys like Keon and Hairston.  They are a hard team to not root for or fall in love with.  The guys in the locker room have a connection and brotherhood not found in most, not to this level.  These guys truly hang out off the field, golf, play poker together, Catan, etc.  Lot of great, powerful, emotional back stories too with some of these guys as well like Ray Davis for example.  

 

It’s gonna be a fun, good energy, Hard Knocks IMHO.

I don't have anything against hard knocks but I haven't watched a single episode and I won't watch this 1 either. Is it the playoffs yet?

That's a good point. I guess I am envisioning the average viewer (and most numerous group) to be casual football fans who are more interested in the human-interest angles as opposed to the true football stuff.
