It does speak to him feeling pressure. As for Beane’s comments, here’s how I read them. The most important were:

- him saying “there’s only one ball” and

- using the word “frustrated” when speaking of WRs who don’t think they get the ball enough.

Easy to interpret IMO. The Bills aren’t looking for an elite WR who demands the ball (like Diggs did) and they aren’t interested in spending big on such a player. That’s because they are planning on utilizing the same schematic concepts as last year - run heavy with a predominately shorter passing game that spreads the ball around and has an eye toward YAC. An elite WR would be frustrated with lack of targets in that offense.

I think they should be open to modifying the plan consequent upon having an elite wide receiver. It's not an issue, because they do nothing to make that even a remote possibility. I still think acquiring Metcalf would have been the perfect add. (He's not elite, per se, but he excels precisely where we needed improvement.)

I agree. I don’t think they want to put that much in the way of resources toward a playmaking WR though. I do not like that plan, but it’s the one they’re going with.

I don't think the Bills like the plan either, but it's a plan born out of necessity. They just don't have the funds for a play maker. Beane has pretty much said that.

I don’t know if it’s necessity or valuation.

I think we all agree the Bills would have a better chance of winning a Super Bowl if you gave us Chase and Higgins. But would we have a better chance of winning a Super Bowl if you gave us Chase/Higgins and the Bengals OL and defense? Probably not.

I would love a few more playmakers offensively. I would love them defensively too. I would love some stars on ST. But it’s hard to get them all.

I was a little down on this team last year offensively and they were great. I’m willing to give them a chance again.

He’s a competitor who’s tired of losing. Then he answer to a bunch of morons who think the NFL runs like madden directly after the draft where he’s probably stressed out of his mind.

He’s a top 3 GM in the league right next to the Rams and Eagles guy.

at some point I’m pretty cool with pushing enough chips in that we may need a reset year after it but hopefully with a trophy in the case instead of just division banners

let’s get our all pro pass catcher(s)
