Matt Milano was a 5th, Kyle Williams was a 5th, Stevie Johnson was a 7th, Nacua was a 5th, Purdy was a 7th, Brady was a 6th, Gabe Davis was a 5th.

Wyatt Teller was a 5th too, just to add to the point

At this point the DE's on the roster (besides the new guys) consist of Von Miller, (even though he's listed as a LB) Greg Rousseau, Kingsley Jonathon, A J Epenesa, and Kameron Cline.  That's hardly a crowded room.  Von Miller and Rousseau are the likely starters though nobody knows how effective Miller will be at 35 years old and recovering from an injury that rendered him close to useless last season.  Epenesa is going to have a roster spot.  After that there's not much.  Kingsley Jonathon seems to have a bit of juice, but hasn't really done anything.  Cline is more of a DE/DT tweener who is never going to do much in the way of pressuring the passer and generating sacks.  It looks to me as if there is plenty of room for one of the kids to make the team.  Solomon looks like the obvious favorite over Ugwoegbu based on college production, though Ugwoegbu has decent measurables.

Have to include Casey Toohill in this. His contract is modest with very little guarantees, but he’s a part of the conversation. Miller, Rousseau, Epenesa are locks. The last 2 spots I figure come down to a 3 way competition between Toohill, Jonathan, Solomon. My money is on Toohill and Solomon, Jonathan maybe a practice squad spot.

Bills absolutely crushed the 5th Round.

They knew they needed contributors in this Draft and took two guys with Day 2 talent in RD5.

Now how did two guys who have Day 2 talent fall to RD5, you ask?

Van Pran is a Day 2 talent at Center .. but that’s really all he can do.  His body build doesn’t translate well to Guard.  Kromer will certainly cross train him for an emergency, but like Torrence dropped because he’s only a Guard, Van Pran dropped because hes only a Center. …but a dang good one at that.

Solomon is a Day 2 talent at pass rusher .. but that’s really all he can do.   He’s not built to be a traditional rotational DE.  He’s a pass rush specialist.   It’s about time a team like us, that typically has 5 Gameday active DE’s, got ourselves a designated pass rusher.

I forgot about Toohill.  I agree though.  I know his run defense is a liability, but in obvious passing downs he has some juice.

And by agreeing with this, you agree that the roster was good enough.  If it wasn’t good enough we couldn’t have been so close to winning with such bad coaching…. No?

We may need a notary to make this agreement official

Solomon reminds me of Lorax for some reason. Maybe I’ll start calling him Baby Lorax from here on out.

No….our roster WAS good enough. We just didn’t make the plays and/or our coaches didn’t do a good enough job.

let’s not mention our starting LB that was covering Kelce on both Tds was unemployed on thanksgiving day.  Our top 4 LBs all impacted by Injury, von fell off a cliff, Tre injured, Benford injured, Douglas injured, gabe injured, Diggs, the worst ever version of himself, Rapp injured.

Agree 100% if we come into that game healthy I believe we keep KC from scoring over 20 points and probably win that game

Just imagine if we were healthy and KC had our injuries how the game would have went.🤔🤔🤔

Lorax could play anywhere. Smart (very) player. Hopeful am I.

I completely agree with your statement, but, for Heaven's sake, it is "would have gone", not "would have went".😁

Reminds me of Elvis Dumerville in build and production.

Did Dumerville have those freakishly long arms though?

Turns out 32.6" versus Solomon at 34"...so advantage our guy. But not at all a terrible comp overall.
