I think it’s largely accepted that he dropped due to height/weight and quality of competition. Otherwise he is athletic and had the best production of any DE last year. His weight is the same as Von Miller, but he is pretty short.

Hey, the way the Bills have had to chase Mahomes around the field........only to almost never sack him(as the Chiefs almost never sack Allen either)........the 20 yard split might be more relevant than the 10 yarder in those matchups.

If this guy could eventually be an 8 to 10-sack guy and Coleman settled into be a good number 2, not great, but a good number 2, this draft, along with Bishop might be seen as a success.

Yes, he fell to the fifth. But we've drafted successful starter there before.

I agree with your take on Solomon but not on Coleman. Think Coleman will be a solid #1 WR for Josh Allen.

I don't know what he will be. I'd love for Coleman to be a number 1. I'm just saying if he's good but not great or a number one and a couple other guys like Solomon and Bishop become starters, this could be a good draft.

I still wish the best for the kid — I haven't rooted for a Bills draft pick this much since I can remember. He seems like a charming and genuine kid and I'd love for him to be a 1,200-yard WR in a couple years.

This refers to Darryl Talley? I've been watching Bills last 8 years only so want to make sure who do you mean.

Lawrence Taylor probably.

For sure!!! I'm part of the "Old" Guard on TBD 😂

I met him at one of Bruce's charity golf tourneys in Virginia Beach along with Bruce, Thurman (who bought me a beer while schmoozing with the Hawaiian Tropic girls!), Junior Seau and Richard Roundtree. I doubt there has ever been more pure masculine cool energy at one club bar than that day... it was amazing. Sad though that 2 have already passed...

absolute potential to be an immediate pass rush specialist

I'd love to see some 3-4 packages with Solomon and Von lined up at OLB and rushing the QB

Groot-Oliver-Carter

Solomon - Bernard - Milano - Von

On an obvious passing down I love it

McDermott has never ran any version of a 34

I wouldn't expect it now... He can and has ran 43 unders and overs which can give a slight 34 look

They’ve used Groot in the interior in that look.  This is much more a conversation on the personal than the alignment, regardless of what you want to call it IMO from a fan perspective. You can discuss what technique the DL are aligned (where is the nose shaded, where are you “tackles” such as 3T vs 4i, etc) but at the end of the day, I think the sentiment is to get a more athletic group of players on the field who can get after the QB of obvious passing downs.

I couldn’t get into the specifics about gap responsibility and how this could translate into bringing different rush packages…maybe you have some info on this. I do think we’ve seen a variation of this where they’re trying to get more athletic/quicker up front in these 2nd/3rd and longs.

Well that would be a 43 under which as I said can look slightly like a 34

And Sean has implemented that plenty of times over 6 Plus seasons

But he very rarely will go to Three down lineman looks

Why would take taron Johnson off the field on obvious passing downs?

I have zero confidence in the outside pass rush.  Taking TJ off the field on passing downs would be an epic fail.

Good catch on this.

My intention was to go smaller/more athletic but I miscalculated on the back end. The 3-4 would look more like:

Groot - Oliver - Von

Soloman - Bernard - Milano - Johnson
