Ayjent
I’ll get excited once I see what they do in the draft. We’ll see if they’ve truly adapted or are just repeating their past approach. That will be evident in where they put the draft capital and how many picks they end up with actually filling the roster. I know they have holes on the D, but it’s a bit of an indictment of how flawed the past emphasis on that side has been when it comes to results when it matters most and how they are in the position of having so many holes despite the heavy investment. 1
GunnerBill
I mean this narrative that they only spend draft capital on defense.... there is some truth to that in terms of first rounders. It is 7 on defense 2 on offense. They did obviously trade a first rounder for a receiver too, so 7 and 3 if you factor that in. But then it's 9 offense and 5 defense of their 14 day two picks. On day 3 picks it is 15 offense, 13 defense, 2 specialists. I don't think there has been a problematic over commitment to defense in terms of draft capital. I think the one big issue draft capital wise is they have under emphasised receiver. To have had 6 drafts (since 2018) without taking a receiver in the first two days..... there is only one other team in the NFL that have not picked a receiver in the first two days of the draft in that same period (major kudos points to anyone who can get the other team without googling btw). That has been a major oversight.

Ethan in Cleveland
You can support and critique at the same time. I can want a new HC and wish McDermott success at the same time. Because I am so effusive in my critique of him I have tried harder to point out the good things he does. Ie promoting Babich from within and letting Johnson get the final carries in the Steelers game to reward a player for hard work. I hope all fans of our team wish them only the best. Even during the bleakest of times I can not recall ever rooting for them to lose even if it meant a better draft position. I just can't do that. TheBrownBear
I'm not concerned at all with the DC or OC signings. We've already seen the improvement to the offense made by Brady despite being saddled with Dorsey's playbook and concepts, so I expect good things from him. And Babich has been considered a hot, up-and-coming positional coach for awhile. Best case scenario? He has some fresh original ideas and playcalling that takes our defense to new heights, while allowing McD added space to focus on overall in game management. Worst case scenario? He struggles and McDermott takes over playcalling and we roll out a top-10 defense as we always do during the McD era.

I guess that’s why Pegula feels no pressure to actually win a Super Bowl. For Terry hope is just as profitable as doing what it takes for Super Bowl level success. But sure, just run it back the same again and hope we get lucky some year. Sounds like a good plan. Go Bills. Fire everyone every year until they win, otherwise it is blind faith that the guys from last year could maybe get lucky. Are you a guy that fires guys at halftime? Everyone on here has forgotten he is still under contract next year. That being said he carries a $5.57M cap hit so I doubt we will keep him for that. My guess is we see a patented Brandon Beane pay cut down to something more reasonable, maybe $3.5M with a $1M void year in 2025 similar to what we did with Tim Settle. uticaclub
It's not a new staff. It's the same group of guys that have been on the staff for years. The Bills are doubling down on "their guys," and nothing will change until Josh demands a trade after 2025. 18 hours ago, GunnerBill said: Frazier called the plays. I don't think Babich will. Brady will be what he was the 2nd half of this season. But he will have the spring and summer to install his version of this offense. I thought it was known that McDermott called the defense

LABILLBACKER
Toward the end of the season I heard guys like Eisen & Cowherd say nobody wants to play the Bills. Well to be quite honest I personally know 2 teams that love to play the Bills. I was disappointed we haven't yet moved on from McDermott. And yes I understand his supporters and the reasoning behind keeping him around for continuity. We as fans vow to keep fighting for our team in our own way. But I've lately appreciated being involved more in my family than waiting for this team to break my heart for the 50th time. The motto "one before I die" will always reign true. But so will "family comes first".
ngbills
Interesting stat. There were 17 changes in Off/Def Coordinators not due to a change in head coach. Of the 17 only 5 were internal hires. Buffalo was 2 of those 5. So excluding the Bills only 3 of 15 were internal. Internal Hires: BUFx2, CIN, LAR, BAL External Hires: PHIx2, CHIx2, PIT, TB, GB, MIA, NO, CLE, NYG, JAC Edited February 6 by ngbills
Freddie's Dead
We're going nowhere with this coaching staff. That's why this one didn't hurt as much, saw it coming a mile away. I'm resigned to another Divisional Round exit next year. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I get the angst, frustration, sadness, depression, anger and flat out rage at our season ending AGAIN in a Divisional playoff game. I have been a fan since Jim Kelly joined the team in 1986' so I get it. I was so pissed that Simon had to get in my ass for venting 110X or more in 24 hours, so I understand. This is our team, and we love them. We love them so much they raise us to heaven or send us straight to hell depending on the outcome of a game or a season. We cant not and will not quit. We have two new coordinators that we all pray will make some needed changes for this coming season that will get us over the hump. We hope Coach McDermott and Brandon Beane understand we must get Josh better weapons and we must shore up the deficiencies on the DL. Many draft picks, FA acquisitions just haven't panned out. We will also need at least 1 more safety and maybe a CB or two. But... Brandon Beane really has nailed some draft picks lately, last year especially. I hope he better understands how to evaluate and scout for what we need and from last years first two picks, I have to believe he has. McDermott hopefully will let go of the reigns a little and let the new coordinator's do their thing. Faith is a very hard thing to come by in the best of times, and really hard when we are Bills fans. But we must BILLieve that this coming year we turn the corner and finally get to the big show and win it. What new staff?
