Damn i was hoping he would stay one more year.  I think Vrabel is an excellent coach and I really didn't want him to end up in new england.

Would have loved 5 more years of Hoody picking talent for the Pats. That roster is void of playmakers and a QB. Draft gives them the 3rd or 4th qb.. could end up being Josh Allen or the UCLA guy who was so bad I can’t remember his name. Vrabel to me brings the same limited O strong D approach.I hope they stay in the Patriot way legacy bucket as I think that model is flawed in the current NFL.

Hope Vrabel doesn’t go there.

Wondering if he had an official heads up. There was talk about Vrabel not being traded which leads to the question: why would you willingly acquire nothing if you’re going to terminate him anyway?

NE in some shape or form.

yea the unspoken truth of the success of the patriot way is essentially don’t let the other 52 lose the game for you and have a qb that can win any and every game for you.

but Mac Jones will lose games for you. Really, most qbs will do that. They need to acknowledge the real patriot way if they are going to fix the result

If I'm Vrabel, I'm taking a better opportunity with a smaller shadow to work in

Mac Jones went a couple games without an interception, and their fans and media were calling him brady and planning 6 more parades

He might get a little bit more slack with the Pats org, and the fans might be more patient with him because he’s a fan favorite.

It’s like hiring a friend at work. You might give them a little bit more leeway on performance before consider firing them vs some random person.

3rd overall pick positions them nicely to get the QB they want, or even move up to the Bears spot to guarantee it.

Will be hard to say that he would have done anything without Brady.

likewise hard to say he would never have gotten some other qb.

he’s a great coach but great coaches need talent. It’s hard to pull a team apart and say any one member would win rings or not without the other important pieces.

Honestly, it won’t be worse next year. Belichick was one of the worst GMs in the nfl. They are moving on from untalented Mac Jones and getting as high of a high pick as they have had in like 20 years.

they will be better next year. Belichick should have been fired after last year and some of the moves he made.

I thought the exact same thing.

"Special Assistant to the Head Coach for Football Research" sounds about right.

Hell, tell him to mend fences with Ernie Adams, and we'll get the whole damn coven back together.

Ernie Adams did all of the research.

I can see his advice now.

"Have you tried cheating?"

I can see the TSW meltdown now…Bills lose to Steelers - then fire McD - then hire BB.

This board would crash lol

Good thing we gonna smash Steelers and go on to win the SB :)

Would stop being Bills Backers Group President.  Some changes I cannot support.

This makes me sad. Just as Tom Brady retiring made me a little sad.

Football is a GAME, it's entertainment, it's cinema. When the primary villains of the past 24 years of my football loving life exit stage left, it's a little bit sad.

Palpatine and Darth Vader are gone. Who will I loathe now?

One thing I will say is that I begrudgingly like and respect Bill Belichick. Tom Brady? Not so much. Still don't like that guy. But Belichick? Away from football, he's eloquent, smart, extremely knowledgeable about football, and even has a dry sense of humor that's pretty amusing. Would love to have a beer with that dude and talk football for hours.

Aaannnyway...who are the villains now? Jackson Mahomes, Jalen Ramsey, and Christian Wilkins? Am I missing anybody?
