According to Ian Rapoport The Bills are “always the mystery team”

Also based on this from Ian, I think we can narrow his sources when he talks mystery team to Agents.  Example Bills are not going to leak it to him and say but dont say it is us.  The agent would as the Bills tell the Agent, do not include are name or we pull out.

Yep……McDermott made sure to come in and clean house of all of them!

A lot of them got hired back.  But it's easier to change the culture when you sweep everyone out of the room and then talk to folks 1:1 and get a picture on who the sieves were and whether they'd mend their ways.

I guess we can assume that when they mention a "mystery team" is interested in a player...it's the Bills.

I was thinking of that.  But I bet Schoen wants to follow in his mentor's footsteps so that might no longer be a safe assumption

Schoen has to deal with the NY media, an impossible task.

Ahhhhh the old days with Leroi, back when we knew the picks and trades beforehand.

I always loved Leroi’s information, but I never understood what someone gets out of leaking information on a forum. Nothing against the guy, but I never understood the motive. It really speaks to how the culture has changed.

Just because these reporters don't have a scoop it's considered a mystery...or the new term being used now is sneaky signing. None of these "insiders" have inside info on teams

That's just not the case. They do have inside information on a lot of teams. The Bills just aren't one of those, apparently.

After what happened in Cleveland the last few days, getting any free agent to go there without a truckload of money is going to be tough.

Pretty embarrassing situation at QB there right now.

Obj also told him to stay away last year. And was when they were only semi-dysfunctional.

Now the other side to that.

when the Bills ARE connected to a team, Fans should start thinking WHY would Beane put that out there. Because if they are always the mystery team when they are “named” there is a reason and Beane and the FO want their name connected to said player for a REASON.

Badass. This pic gives me 'he's an enforcer" vibe. All Business.
