I predicted this about around couple months ago and kinda surprised since the QB things went how they are at this point. Many disagreed with me then and could have went either way...

I just thought Winston did well enough and would have likely made playoffs if not for injury. Think they were like 5-1 or 6-2 when he got hurt, if I recall correctly

Surprised Reich is trying to win with these washed qbs. Matt Ryan is borderline starting/backup qb

I would agree. I honestly never considered Ryan to be that good. But he’s been downright bad since shanahan left Atlanta imo.  Guessing Indy didn’t like any of the other options out there.

Mariota to Falcons.   Reunited with their HC who was the OC in Tennessee when Mariota was there.

Welp Rosen was the starter for a few hours..

Looks like the Saints are bringing back Winston.

(5) Tom Pelissero on Twitter: "The #Saints are re-signing QB Jameis Winston to a two-year deal with a base value of $28 million, including $21M guaranteed, sources tell me and @RapSheet. So after missing out on Deshaun Watson, New Orleans turns to an old friend at QB." / Twitter

Wow…shows how desperate teams are for QB

Is he any worse than Mariota at this point😂   What pure garbage Atlanta has at QB now. Not to mention their WRs (I can’t even name one after Ridley is suspended and Gage left) and their defense is nothing to write home about. They might not win a game.

Jameis was the 12th ranked quarterback by QBR last season up until the point where he was injured. He actually didn’t play poorly at all. Obviously, with Sean Payton out the door, it will be interesting to see how that offense responds.

It's going to remind me of the Colts when Rivers played.  The surrounding cast he had in Indy, was really good for Rivers.  They made the playoffs and the Bills barely beat them.  They could do the same with Ryan.  They were hurt when Luck unpredictably retired on them.  I guess Karma got them when they decided to "suck of Luck" after Peyton Manning.  They took a chance on Wentz and that did not pay off.   So they will stumble along until they are able to draft a solid QB and build from there.  At least they got a better leader and professional with Ryan over Wentz.

How he was ever considered the right Josh must blow every analysts mind. It’s amazing how much of a flop he has been in the NFL. Him and Darnold. Turrible.

That “amazing QB draft” sure showed what I preached all along, no one can accurately project QBs. Might as well throw darts at their names on a board. One of the best QB drafts in ages produced one superstar in Allen, one above average starter in Jackson, one average to below average starter in Mayfield, one below average to bottom tier starter in Darnold and one guy who will be out of the league next year in Rosen. The ironic part of it is, a lot of rankings would have had those QBs flipped pre-draft.

Mariota has as much upside as any free agent at this point. Completely a bridge quarterback for the Falcons. I definitely expect to see a quarterback drafted in the first few rounds by the team. Malik is my guess.

Colts don't have a first.  I think Malik will go in the first round.

Falcons have a first though at #8. I didn’t mention the Colts.

My mistake.  I'd been posting about Ryan to the Colts and got mixed up.  You are certainly correct, and I'd like to see Malik in the NFC versus the AFC (i.e. Steelers).

I don't think so.  Rivers > Ryan.  Ryan looked cooked last year to me.  This looks a lot more like when the Colts tried the reclamation project of Wentz.  They may have a better leader than Wentz but they still have a putrid QB IMO.

He was having a nice resurgence until that injury...

Saints were playing with (insert name here) at QB late in the season and still had a shot at the playoffs. They didn't lose a lot of talent, and Thomas is seemingly back, which is huge.

Winston could always pile up the stats, but he needed to stop turning the ball over so much. He can certainly move the sticks and produce passing yards though, which is 3/4 of the job.
