Clearly not what I meant and you know it. We are discussing current NFL and what franchises have either turned a blind eye because of the talent a player has.
Bills should take down OJ thats fine. He’s rarely mentioned now by anyone and that’s the way it should be. What others suggest is that in the current NFL, KC has been exceptionally active with such players. That’s true.

No need to be condescending. Just a discussion and no I don’t support OJ.

You're right.  I apologize for the snark.  I get the difference between continuing to honor a former player who eventually became a double-murderer - and actively signing known woman-abusers/scumbags.

I just find it interesting how many Bills fans still think OJ's name should stay on the wall and those same fans criticize other teams.  I know you're not one of those guys and again, I apologize for being a dick.

All good 👍 just a discussion. I’ve been way worse than that. Have tried to be less so recently. Good to care and be passionate. Nothing wrong with that 🍻

Quote

According to the video surveillance, the man was speaking to a woman before the events occurred as he described. After Kamara pushed the man, one of Kamara's associates punched the man in the face. Then Kamara lunged toward the man and punched him approximately eight times -- including three times after he had fallen to the ground.

Three others from Kamara's group then began stomping the man in the face, chest and legs. One of Kamara's associates stomped him approximately 16 times, according to the police report. The incident broke up once security arrived, and Kamara and his party were escorted out of the property. Kamara was later identified through video and eyewitness accounts, and he had used his ID and credit card while at the casino.

I assume the "associate" was also arrested, or will be soon

Kamara is pretty certain to face a civil suit, and can possibly make the criminal charges go away if he settles large and fast.

The man, who was knocked unconscious, suffered an orbital fracture to his right eye, among other injuries, according to the police report.

Police said the video surveillance matched the man's account. The man said he started a conversation with one member of a group of people while waiting for an elevator as he was leaving the Cromwell Casino at Drais After Dark Club on South Las Vegas Boulevard at approximately 6:30 a.m. local time. When the elevator doors opened, the man started to walk toward the elevator along with the large party. But a man later identified as Kamara put his hand on the victim's chest to stop him.

The man said he then pushed Kamara's hand off his chest, and Kamara pushed back hard enough to cause the man to stumble back. Afterward the man recalled being hit and kicked by multiple people and losing consciousness.

And that's how it started. Kamara didn't want the guy sharing an elevator with his group.

I think it's cute that the Chiefs keep getting brought up by a fanbase whose favorite team continues to openly and publicly celebrate one of the most infamous murderers in U.S. history.

Allegedly.

So they actually  waited until after the game to arrest him? Unbelievable

to be fair, they might not have completed interviews with others, getting the video etc… until after his workday started. At that point, why not bring him in at the close of business in a less confrontational manner

wow, if that's how it started.  oh my.

Yikes, add lying to the police on top of his charges.

"Kamara told police that he was with his girlfriend, his assistant and a couple of friends. Kamara said the man called one of his friends ugly while they were waiting for the elevator and then later said, "I'll whup your ass too." Kamara said he saw a fight break out next to him and saw the man get punched. When asked why he punched the man, Kamara indicated that he thought the man was running away and had done something to his group -- so he chased him and punched him several times."

Also, the story Kamara told, beyond not being backed up by the video, is absurd.

Never trust a man with a tattoo on his throat.

There's a part of me that wants to chuckle here, and a part of me that wants to cringe (at both me and you).

I think such superficial judgments are outdated and culturally biased/prejudicial. I have been guilty myself of internalizing (but hopefully not acting upon or passing along) these same judgments.

While I'm 100% in agreement with you on the civil suit Hap, do you really think he can make the criminal charges go away so easily?

I didn't see the video, but it sounds like they beat the brakes off this guy to say the least.  Kamara punched this guy 8 times, and it's noted that three of those times where while the guy was on the ground already knocked out cold.  Holy crap Alvin, that's some straight up BS.  To me that speaks volumes to his character.  It's one thing to hit a guy, but to do it 8 times and 3 after the guys already out?  I'm surprised all they did was fracture his orbital bone.  Me thinks the league is gonna come down swift and harsh on him, regardless of what happens as far as criminal charges, but if I was a gambling man, I'd feel pretty comfortable wagering a pretty penny that these charges stick, and wouldn't be surprised if the DA decides to upgrade them.  Doesn't sound like aggravated assault is too far of a reach to me.  And we all know, video just makes it all worse.  This brings Ray Rice to mind. (I know she was a female, which makes it a gazillion times worse, but we're talking about video of a guy beating a guy down and still hitting him after he's knocked out)

I was thinking that prosecutors usually won't pursue charges if the witness disappears or refuses to cooperate.

And a confidential settlement can specify that the settlement is void if the parties discuss what happened (including in court)

But you do have a point in that the video evidence might make a huge difference.  I guess it depends on the DA.

I agree that the league will suspend him, and should.  The video with Hunt, while against a woman, was relatively "milquetoast" and the young woman suffered no injuries.  Hunt was suspended 8 games.

what culture that Alvin belongs to promotes throat tattoos?  Can't think of any.

Good points.  It does depend on the DA.  If the DA want's to go after Alvin, he can subpoena the victim.  At this point, it's "the state" v. Alvin, not the victim.  And the victim has to cooperate if summoned.

BTW, is this video in the public domain anywhere?  All I can find are recaps.
