stinky finger
11 hours ago, eball said: I’ve come to the conclusion that I hope the Bills go WR at #25. Here are the positions I think it’s clear they will not draft in the 1st round: QB, RB, TE, OL, LB, S. That leaves DL, CB, and WR. I know a lot of folks are worried about the DL and pass rush but I think they bring Hughes back and we’ve got to give the young guys (Epenesa, Rousseau, Basham) a chance to show they are developing. I think they re-sign Harry and bring in a FA vet at DT. I also have a feeling they wind up re-signing Levi. They will draft at least one CB later on but I don’t see 1st round. Which brings me back to WR in another strong class. Beane has got to continue to give Josh weapons, so draft a guy with first round talent who doesn’t have to “star” immediately but can play ST and be the 4th WR in spread sets. That’s an instant upgrade to an already dangerous offense. I like your reasoning here. And the logic. I can see this happening and would welcome it warmly. My thoughts are like most years: If you do not need a QB then allow FA to take its course, then form your draft board and roll BPA unless we have such a glaring need i.e. CB

Orlando Tim
My biggest thought is that I doubt we don't take a CB in the first based on the depth of the position in this draft and the fact you can always use more DBs. Secondly I would bet that every pick after the 3rd round is simply the guy with the highest ceiling, basically a bunch of lottery tickets due to being strong with our starters overall. BuffaloBobs
R1: 25 - WR Chris Olave, Ohio State A polished receiver with great hands who projects perfectly into the role departed by Emmanuel Sanders with a ton of upside. The perfect compliment for Diggs and Davis for years to come. R2: 57 - CB Kyler Gordon, Washington The replacement for the cerebral if athletically limited Levi Wallace. While our coaches and safeties have had to compensate for a lack of athleticism opposite Tre'Davious White, Kyler Gordon has all the physical gifts to match up with anyone and allow us to get more aggressive in the secondary. R3: 89 - DT Neil Farrell Jr., LSU The eventual replacement for Star Lotulelei with the ability to rotate immediately on early downs as a run stopper and upside rushing the passer. R4: 127 - CB Marcus Jones, Houston A top flight athlete and incredible return specialist with the potential to contribute in the slot on defense, R5: 166 - P Matt Araiza, San Diego State The second piece to solving our special teams struggles. R6: 184 - DT Noah Elliss, Idaho A big boy with incredible power as an early down run stuffer and goal line anchor with the potential to rotate on early downs at the one technique. R6: 202 - C Luke Wattenberg, Washington A versatile and athletic player for the Huskies with 48 starts at tackle and guard before seamlessly transitioning to center this season. The exact type of player this team loves for depth on the line. R7: 242 - TE Cameron Latu, Alabama A underutilized asset at Alabama who started on defense before a sophomore transition to offense. He had the biggest game of his career in the College Football Playoff against Georgia and could push Tommy Sweeny for snaps as a second tight end. I took at shot at the PFF Mock Draft Simulator and would be thrilled if we got lucky enough to have these guys on the board particularly in the early rounds.

ScorpionZero
25. DeMarvin Leal IDL, here's my thinking, we've added defensive ends which I think we're fine at. But adding a second 3t with his first step quickness and athleticism would do the most to make our pass rush a terror. On passing downs you'd have Rousseau-Leal-Oliver-Epenesa and with all that athletic ability you can run multiple alignments and stunts. You could even shift Leal over the the tackle and Rousseau could play a wide 9. 57. John Metchie III WR, No CB ranked near enough to 57, so this is a luxury pick 89. Martin Emerson CB, Ranking was close enough, has size, length, and his ability to play our zone/press scheme 128. John Ridgeway IDL, now this is what makes Leals selection very helpful, Ridgeway is a big boy 6'4" 327 who's thickly built and powerful with enough athleticism for our new 1T. Now on run downs you've got Leal-Phillips-Ridgeway-Bashem and if it's play action they can still put some heat on the QB 167. Hassan Haskins RB, hard runner with size, likes contract praised by teammates on and off the field 183. Cade Mays IOL, he's built like a guard at 6'4" 325 has played every position except center, has allot of experience and the film I watched he plays like a bully. 201. Chris Paul IOL, a mirror image of Mays, now we've got a couple guards who could turn into our interior line for the foreseeable future. 228. Tre Turner WR, he's roughly the same size as Metchie with deep speed, just not the quicks like him, and limited route tree. To start just someone to run really fast down field and make the defense worry. 243. DaMarcus Fields CB, had size and length, that works best in zone, needs coaching and NFL training. machine gun kelly
Too early. Need to see who we release, extend, pick up in free agency, and trade if at all. Once we have that info in late March, early April, we can dig in deep into the draft, and love all of you’re opinions once we lead up to it. I never jump the gun to the draft as it just all changes after free agency. You also get a clearer window in what Beane wants to do as he typically fills needs in FA, and likes to go after BPA met with need in the draft. Those two DE's were useless this season, and this game. If I'm Pegula, no longer do I allow McDermott telling Beane who to draft. McDermott was the one who passed on Mahomes for a CB, and we all know Pegula wanted Mahomes. Now, Allen was probably the better fit here ultimately, but the defense first mindset is why the Bills can't get past the Chiefs. They will have trouble getting past the Bengals and Chargers in the comming years if they keep letting McDermott draft defense. Not only is McDermott a failure on gamedays too often, but he is a failure on draft day as well. What’s wrong Gene talk to us buddy we’re here to help !!
